  1. I think for me it's the Allman Bros, probably about 11 or 12 times.
  2. Why would the Fins take RB Kenny Irons in the 3rd round? Auburn RB's are at a premium? Ricky is in a basement staring at a lava lamp?
  3. I remember local radio guys (I think it was Shredd & Regan) were outside the courthouse grilling footlong hotdogs during the trial, becasue it reportedly came out in depositions that the Biscuit had a 12" member....
  4. What do you mean? He's really a lefty???
  5. I thought The Dube played pretty well Thurs night. Goaltending was the least of their problems...
  6. This just in.... Cutler watched film of Aaron Schobel today and then mentioned to Coach Shadyhands that he usually gets sick right around Sept. 9th every year....He may need to spend that weekend in Aspen with Bruce, a haistylist who Cutler mentioned "is just a friend..."
  7. Why did any of them bother showing up for practice? It's only the Islanders after all.... I will bet anybody $1 million that if Briere is hurt, it is only one of two things: Either an upper-body injury or a lower-body injury.
  8. Did you ever read this Rick Reilly article about baseball in Montreal? It's not very long, but it's hilarious. Article Hahahahaha: Foul balls just sitting in the aisles...hahahahaha!
  9. LSI- just for future reference- When you are on vacation in a beautiful South Amercian country, thousands of miles away from anyone who's even heard of hockey, and you have no access to the game via television or radio, we won't be expecting you to start the "Official Game Thread." Someone else will handle it. Plus, it will save us from reading that the guy who started the thread posted three times that he can't get the game. Also, if you had access to this website, you also had access to www.wgr550.com. They stream their programming on the web, so you would have been able to hear the great Rick Jennarette. Buenos dias.
  10. I think they bounce back from an 0-8 start to finish 13-3.
  11. Masturbating under my desk to the SI Swimsuit online pics usually calms me down....
  12. With vets like Fletcher and Spikes in the locker room I don't think it would've been an issue. Marv may have to consider that aspect more now, because the leaders of the team are essentially Schoebel and Losman, relatively young guys. It's always hard to predict behavior and always easy to look back with 20/20 vision. However, I think Green Bay would've done alright drafting Randy Moss three picks before Minnesota in the 1998 draft...Possibly would've been the missing weapon for Favre and led them to SB wins over Denver.... Personally, I say take the best guy, but always within reason...Moulds had a bad rap and he was a good soldier for 10 years, so it can work out....On the other hand, the Titans knew PacMan was coming with baggage, but they decided he was worth the risk, and now it bites them... Bottom line-- you need talent to win, and you can't be gunshy about picking an impact player. Sometimes a GM has to trust the head coach he hired and the players he signed to step up and handle the potential locker room disturbances....
  13. Tonight's 3 stars: #3 Ryan Miller #2 Jason Pominville #1 Max Afinagenov
  14. I will be booing the Bills if Losman is handing off to the A-Train or Shaud Williams. Let's acquire a RB before we make plans on lynching our old one.... This season, the Bills could have the luxury of watching both 1200-yard RB's we shipped out of town for no good reason (TH and WM) run wild over our weak defense while we start a backup (Turner), a wash up (ATrain) or a look up (tiny Shaud). Sweet. It's a real genius move by all the Willis critics (who've said all along that he only runs hard when he's motivated) to organize a jersey burning and mass-booing of him.....
  15. I hear that. It's crazy the way these commentators are talking. I heard the guys on Vs (Clement, Keith Jones, and somebody else) discussing the playoffs during the last week of the regular season. Clement phrased a question like this: "So who is the favorite to win the Cup if Buffalo is NOT the team that comes out of the East?" Basically saying- "We all know the Sabres are the favorite...What are some other teams who have a shot if Buffalo gets bumped?" Pretty crazy... And Melrose last night on ESPN: "I love the 1st round matchups. With the exception of Islanders-Sabres, I don't think you can consider a lower seed beating a higher seed in the 1st round an upset. Buffalo should not have any trouble with NY, and if the Islanders win, that WOULD be a major upset."
  16. I have an incredible desire to get extremely drunk....which happens to be a well-known side effect of Sabres fever during playoff time...
  17. Hahahaha, I applaud your patience Dean. There have been quite a few that were questionable, but to each his own. I can't really remember having a bad time at any show, even some of the ones that I was less than enthused about attending. Of course, a responsible concert-goer always makes sure that the beers and smokes are in ample supply, thus guaranteeing a good time. My beef is with those who gave the "impossible to name my favorite"....There has to be ONE that stands out....We have all been to a bunch of shows, and if we were willing to pay to see these bands, I'm sure more often than not they were as incredible as expected. But there must have been that time when your buddy got a flat on the way home and drove into a ditch, or the cops harrassed your tailgate and a friend hit his car with an egg....You know, good stuff like that....That's why I listed the Petty / Crowes show on a perfect day a few summers back...Of course the concert was great, but even better was hanging in the lot hours before the show with a HUGE group of friends, laughing, drinking, whipping the frisbee, and soaking up the sunshine. As for most my most impressive, I saw a 22-year old Derek Trucks (nephew to the great Allman Bros drummer Butch Trucks) wailing on his guitar at a $5 show in a bar in Burlington, VT in summer of '01. There were about 30 people there and Trucks absolutely tore it up. The Allmans are one of my all-time favorite bands, so obviously I walked out of there mesmerized. Half of me wanted to run home and pick up my guitar, and the other half never wanted to touch a guitar again because of my comparative ineptness...I have seen Trucks solo since, and I've seen him with the Allmans many times, but I still marvel at it every time I think of that show...
  18. Sharks lead Preds 4-2 after 2....Grier has one for SJ and Dumont potted one for Nashville.
  19. Bump it Playoffs start tonight you bums so make some predictions so we don't have to hear after the fact how you JUST KNEW that Vancouver was going to lose in round 1....
  20. Five months of shittting his pants thinking about the beatdown he's going to take from Schobel, Pat Willis, Whitner, and the boys.... I'm envisioning a Harrington-esque performance out of Cutler on 9/9... Bills roll 29-6 on a sunshine-filled 74 degree day My goodness I can't wait
  21. I saw Channel 4's sportscaster Dennis Williams out at a bar on Chippewa after a Sabres game about a month ago. I talked to him for about 10 minutes. He was BOMBED, to the point of swaying, but he was a nice guy. I played in a charity golf tourney once and Stu Boyer was in my foursome. He's a good dude, we had a fun time.
  22. I understand the frustration, but they do play twice per season. The Bills lose to New England when the Pats have a bye the week before, and they lose when the Pats don't have a bye the week before. Not sure it matters much...
