  1. Pettine said after he got fired that he wanted to take the year off from coaching. No doubt needed a little time off after 2 years of Johnny and Jimmy.

Otherwise, if he changed his mind since then, I don't know why it wouldn't be a possibility outside of just pride in going from HC to Position coach. That said, they could make him AHC/DL coach and pay him a lot. I think there are other teams that have more than one AHC on same side of ball (Rob Ryan Already being one). Not sure if there are any rules of how many you can have per team. It's just a salary justifier IMO.

Now, there were also reports that Pettine and Rex's HC/DC relationship didn't end on the finest of notes in NY. And that he was a narc, etc. So who knows.

I know I am tired but that line made me laugh...at least Pettine was fired and became a position coach..that has to be better than resigning as a head coach to become a position coach.

Sorry, everyone. The only true beer for Bills game day is Genesee Cream Ale. Proven fact.

Yes, in a can. Don't argue with me, I'm right.

Oh the college memories! Affectionately known as Genny Screamers...just couldn't be too far from the bathroom after drinking them!!

Love my wife, I mentioned Southern Tier earlier and she hooked me up at our Wegmans here in Camillus, NY. I have not seen which version she bought they are in the garage fridge and I am open for a surprise tomorrow! Big day tomorrow boys....

I think we all get that, but doesn't the rush to be the "first" to report something lead to this type of behavior? Nobody wants to wait until the truth comes out...better to guess at the truth and, if you're right, you get the credit of being "first".

I see all sports reporting at 2 levels; first there is speculation and I consider all reports just that speculation, even from the large sports networks and second there is the confirmation with sourced information, which usually I look for from JW and the AP. Specifically to this topic it is all speculative and open to interpretation, but without speculation there are no sports networks or sports talk radio. We would have just fact reported and no conversation and as posted earlier I would not have the distraction I need from a bad day at work.

There can be a conversation about whether or not we have too much speculation, but I guess I feel we are all capable of filtering information on our own.

  4. When they say "Buffalo and NY markets" does that literally mean Buffalo and NYC only? I live 45 mins north of Albany does that fall in the market"?

Monday night Jets-Bills TV: Only CBS TV. No NFL Net. New York, Buffalo CBS afiliates. Erie, Pa., and 6 upstate NY CBS affiliates.

This has to be most if not all of upstate NY.

  5. I am a glass half full guy and bought into the Marrone hire for a while, but he is sending a message to players by his actions that are confusing. He says "Best at position will play" and his evaluations seem little off. On top of that he keeps a special team guy and offensive coordinator that are sub par. I get the preseason argument, no game plan etc., but your 1st team offense needs a touchdown and he needs to find a way.

Marrone's loyalty will bite him in the end.

  6. Romeo Crennel is unemployed and according to the article: "Marrone has inroads on multiple coaching trees. As a member of Payton's staff, he has connections to Bill Parcells, who was a leading voice recommending him over the past week."

If Parcells was recommending Marrone maybe Bill is expecting a favor for a friend in return.

  7. FWIW, NFL Network's Ian Rappaport hears the following from around the league regarding the Bills:

    The
' QB situation is certainly a question mark. The other thing is, I hear nothing but good things around the league when it comes to eventual GM Doug Whaley and CEO Russ Brandon. It's rare you hear such positive reviews about, well, anything, but these two are respected. Brandon for his ability to be an administrator, Whaley for his personnel prowess. People love old
alums, and Whaley would like to build in the model of what we see in Pittsburgh. The phrase I heard most often with regard to Buffalo's situation? "
They are in good hands." Something you don't often hear.

    And I noticed this earlier:
