  1. What is Marv waiting for? Have we been beaten on claims (lower draft priority)? Are we waiting for a better player cut due to a waiver pick up ( more future potential or $ )? Are we having trouble getting guys back on our PS for a variety of reasons? Titans have made numerous transactions. Or can we trying to use some of that cap for a FA?
  2. No Gates? Did he get picked up by someone?
  3. Could someone help on this. Is that ROTO site bogus? I thought the Bills picked up a WR from Dallas named Ward who we were going to use as a CB. Also remember something like they cut K Thomas to make room. Was that all a joke? I have looked at the roster and don't see it or hear anyone talk about it. Did I answer my own question that it is bogus. Please confirm. Thanks
  4. I agree with all of the above, his versatility keeps him on the squad. He isn't great at any one position but he can he can play so many. Remember, he was a linebacker in college and in the new speedier, smaller LB type defense we now play, he could fill in if we really had a rash of injuries. Again, not great, but covers a lot of positions which allows you to take some chances.
  5. I think our best bet would be a couple Special teamers to either Washington or MM at Miami. They would have to be established guys like Wire, Stammer or another who may be on the edge but not over. Because our ST is so good and we have others with potential do the Washingtons wait for our cuts or try for a deal. We'll know soon.
  6. About as insensitive as being laid off by email.
  7. Wouldn't they notify them before the list is submitted? I'm sure a lot of teams are taking the max amount of time to see if any cuts worth picking up. With all our cap money still hoping to land that last FA to make us a little better.
  8. They trying to get something for some of our cuts?
  9. I just went through every sirius station and everyone BUT the Bills. Maybe they only have so many stations devoted to NFL and with this being a heavy nite, they didn't feel the Bills were attractive enough on the west coast. Does that sound possible?
  10. Have to agree with previous posters on how the Bills played with regard to what was on Sirius radio ( listening ) and play by play ( written ) opposed to veiwing it on NFL Network. I should say viewed minus a number of Bills plays removed for time purposes ( Ricard TD and Nall first series) or the Cinci broadcast network. What a difference seeing it makes. As stated, I listened to the first half on Sirius radio but not knowing both braodcast teams are on, I mistakenly listened on the Cinci channel and I thought we were getting killed. The Cinci announcers were so slanted I was totally disheartened. Just as bad as listening to the Cinci announcers in the second half on NFL Network. Of couse Holcomb had a little to do with it. Listening to the apposing announcers in any form is brutal. After veiwing, I would say that JP has the tools but needs more consistency. Kelly will be third string if at all. Nall looks poised and will challenge but fall short. If JP goes down it will be Nall unless we pick up another QB who can use the whole Fairchild offense.
  11. Just checked my Direct TV guide and there is a couple slots stating " TBA ". The first is at 6PM on 8/22 PDT, therefore 3PM in NY. The other slot is Wed 8/23 at 6PM PDT. These may be used for winner of the poll or if they succumb to the screaming in Buffalo, Cinci and elsewhere. We'll see. I'll keep checking.
  12. Mine shows Browns /Eagles. Yep, you got it right, Cinci and Bills against CBA. NFL is vendictive. WE NEED tp WIN, WIN and WIN some more or we will continue to get this disrespect by NFL, the Refs and non Bills fans. Winning will cure all. Wilson and Marv need to spend to get what we need!
  13. Listened to it on Sirius. Just got it so don't know all the finer points yet. I say this because not only was it gut wrenching to listen to all the bloopers and the score to run up but I was listening to the opposing team's announcers broadcast the game. I didn't know it was also on another station till after the half with our announcers. Man what a different slant they put on it. I'll watch it tomorrow and make my own judgement. That is if it's on, my guide on Direct TV still has Philly at Ravens.
  14. My guide isn't corect or updated. Thanks for the site. Saved it and I'll TIVO it. Again, thanks
  15. Checked again all the way out thru tuesday and still no Bills. Here on the west coast it shows Detroit at Cleveland at PDT and at 1pm EST ( 1PM PDT) it shows Philly at Ravens. Maybe Direct TV will update and insert as you say it is. As of now, no Bills. The Bills need to win big this year and get some respect. Is it on Sirius real time?
  16. When will it replay. I went out through tuesday and everyone else on at least once, many twice and lots and lots of Dolphin Cheerleaders but no Buffalo. What gives? I figure since many on on twice they won't show the Bills. Anyone got the time it plays on Direct tv?
  17. I know he has to do what's best but HOW MANY MILLION IS ENOUGH TO FEED HIMSELF AND FAMILY? Bet he could get by with $13M
  18. Before MM left, Marv thought that MM had some issues ( lack of leadership and some trouble makers in the lockerroom ) but I think Marv was willing to work with him in correcting them. MM missed an opportunity to be a better coach with input, not meddling from Marv. MM may have felt that it would again be like TD and RW giving mandates ( play JP, etc. ). It may have been a little bumpy at first but with input from Marv ( getting rid of old players on the downside, troublemakers, and lazy players) and an influx of more talent and youth would have been benefitial and allowed him to remain a head coach and the continuity that goes with it. MM may have been willing to give it a shot until his family was hearing it at shops and at school. I don't know how much was true but it wouldn't take much for me to say "who needs this". I know I'll get the " have some nads" stuff but that will probably be from those that don't have kids or a wife. If it wasn't true I apolagize, but if true, keep the the family out of it. That said, I think the new staff is better and will surprise a lot of people especially if our Strength and Conditioning coach ( dumbest move by MM ) is anywhere near Rusty Jones in intelligence.
  19. Yes, J'ville and for another reason too. It wiped us out psychologically for 2-3 weeks and ultimately had a big impact on the season. The Miami game was lost I feel due to many reasons but most importantly because of coaching, or lack there of, and the E Moulds tantrum that distracted the team and we lost our focus. I hope DJ instills an urgency in all our players that EVERY game counts and it is important to stay focused, don't take anyone lightly ( if that is possible with our record ) and work harder than your opponent. I also hope that the coaches instill that this is their job, have some fun and don't hot dog. As Marv would say, act like you have been there before and "muscle flexes" are for individuals, not a team!
  20. Look, I didn't dislike EM prior to last year. I would have liked to see him win something in Buffalo. But last year, whether it was total frustration with the way JP was handled or the stupid way MM ran the offense. But last year was last year and EM did not get faster or act as a team player. I hope he has a good year in Houston but I'm glad he's gone. There just was no way to reconcile all the issues that surfaced, and he wasn't getting better for the amount of cap hit. EM may be a better #1 than Evans but I feel with a better offensive system to work within and a speedier group of WR's I feel we will better. In totality, we will have more athleticism and speed than last year. They don't need turmoil on a team fighting to learn how to win. I think that ML and DJ are doing a good job so far in building a TEAM with character. All will be pulling for one another in a common goal. No ME people. I respect all your feelings just as I hope you will respect mine. Time will tell
  21. In this article they say "But unlike moves to jettison Lawyer Milloy and Mike Williams, no way are the Bills better off without him." I know Moulds is gone and we've talked about this ad nauseum but I think they are wrong. Especially after they just said it was an economic hardship, he wouldn't take a cut and in doing so showed he didn't want to be in Buffalo. He had a good career with the Bills but had become a cancer who was deviding the team and in my opinion intimidated JP. It got nasty when JP couldn't hit him on long passes because he could not get separation, or JP didn't have time, or he started and stopped routes making it impossible to know when or where to throw it to say nothing about his antics on the sidelines that were very childish and devisive. Here is why I don't think he will be missed. Yes, Evans has not faced double teams but I don't think he will face a lot if all works the way Fairchild and the offense is planned. First, like Rams teams there will more motion prior to the play. Then there is way more speed on this team than last year which won't allow the opposition to use two playes on one. Then, they will have to account for a better run game and a much better tight end group of recievers and blockers. The intangibles will be team unity and all players pulling for one goal. Levy did the right thing and both teams will benefit from the trade. I just don't believe that "no way will we be better off." I think we will!
  22. Many of the old timers on this board can verify much of what I will enlighten those who have not been through it. This is no way a shot at my home town which I still root for in football, hockey and even basketball when the Braves and McAdoo were there. I used to go to War Memorial and Offerman to see our teams. Was thrilled when the Bills came to Buffalo in '60 and all the drafts, hiding of players and stealing players from other teams which eventually forced the AFL/NFL merger. So I've been there and supported all our teams. Been to several games when they came to play the LA Rams and Raiders when both were in LA. Saw all the great players and still see all games in Football and Hockey on Direct TV. I was born, raised and educated in Buffalo and grew up in a great town during the '50s. I lived on the east side ( Fillmore and Utica ) and could travel around 90% of town with little fear. Try that now. In a recent trip back there I and my best friend took a ride to the old neighborhood and thought I was in bombed out Germany. I am sorry to see what has happened to my home town because you never lose your roots but still have to make economic decisions. Many are too young to know this but I saw the town change overnight in about '59 or '60 when NY State removed residency requirement for welfare. People could now move to NY and get welfare immediately. Many moved there to make it quickly a town with many needs in health, housing, crime and more taxes to finance it all. This welfare change and the fact that politicians did not and still do nothing to give tax incentives to companies to move there. Unions and nepitism also play a part. Until there is a good industrial tax base people will be moving out, not in. When I left for Califoria in '63 for a vacation I had no idea what a different world it was outside Buffalo. I got a job in one day and another, better job in 2 weeks. Oportunities abounded. After retiring from a large medical company two years ago I looked at moving back to Buffalo but could see who will be paying all the taxes and decided on Oregon which has NO sales tax and lower cost housing and taxes. Still has the season changes, nice people but no where near the good food. You all may think I'm full of it, may disagree but it is the truth.
