No you missed my point. I agree with the op. It’s great we won last night but it does not inspire much hope for the future. Yes they pulled that win out, but this team is too up and down. One week we look like the best team ever the next will we struggle to beat a team with a head coach who has never even been a coordinator! I’m happy they won but which team will show up in the playoffs if they get there? I knew if they won people would act like all is good in paradise.
What a dumb thing to say. "All is good in paradise" 🙃-- hardly. No one thinks that, so stop with the straw man arguments. Such hyperbole.
At this time of year a win is a win. And all this crap about style points is BS. I mean should the Cowboys forget about the playoffs because, well they got clobbered last week? Just dumb depressing stuff.
Enjoy the games the next two days and Merry Christmas to all!!!

Teams -3 in turnovers win 4% of time. It's a Festivus miracle we won!!

Has anyone figured out where our wildcard game would be assuming we get in?
Possibly home, at Baltimore, at Miami at KC at Jax at Cleveland at Colts at Texans, could be others.

Just thinking out loud - we can win out and still not win the division. So we would be 11-6. If Jags lose best they can be at is 10-7. Because the Jags, Texans and Colts all play each other in next few weeks, I think the absolute best record any second place team in that division would finish with would be 10-7, so we would get wild card over any of them.
If the Jags win they can still finish 11-6. Mathematically either the Texans or Colts (but not both bc they play each other) can also finish 11-6. So we would be screwed in that scenario. But if the Jags lose that will eliminate 2 teams automatically because the loser of the Texans/Colts game will have 7 losses as well.
It makes sense in my head even though I may not be articulating it clearly.
Jags play TB Carolina and Tennessee.

Is there a night game the last Sunday of the season? As I recall they set up the timing of games so no one gets an advantage in knowing what they need to do to get in. But my memory could be fading. 😀

Actually according to NYT playoff machine, Bills lose to Dallas and win all other games, 57% chance of being in playoffs. Beat Dallas too, and it is over 99%.
I think keeping Bengals alive might be a good thing. They have lots of games against other contenders like Pitt and Indy and Cleveland, so they need to be motivated so these teams savage each other.

Sad thing is that even if we pull it off and win out this season, we still only have a 47% chance of making the playoffs. That Philly loss was a killer.
That is totally incorrect. NYT playoff machine gives Bills over a 99% chance of making playoffs if they win last 5. 57% if they go 4-1 with loss to Dallas.

Going 1-1 is more unlikely to get in than it is likely.

meh… that sucked but it’s usually a house of horrors when we play the Jaguars anyway.
Even with the injuries to Jones and Milano that game… we take care of business against Zach Freakin’ Wilson week 1 and Mac Freakin’’ Jones a couple weeks after Goodell’s Fantastic Experiment, we’re 8-4 and talking about the #1 seed in the AFC instead of running permutations to even get into the dance in the first place.

At this point, I think I suffer from battered fan syndrome. Bills lose in excruciating fashion, leave me for dead. Then emotionally you rebuild the *****, maybe things will change and they won't hurt you, especially before a holiday, but then they knock you down all over again and all that pain and frustration returns. I'll watch, but with a helmet and flak jacket on. 🙂
Who knew that d*ke (aka a dam) was forbidden.

Making the trip to Buffalo for this game. My head says they probably won't make the playoffs now, but my heart says - ya gotta keep rootin for the boys! Been a fan for over 30 years, so while it doesn't look good right now (been there many times), ya never know.... seen stranger outcomes to a season.
Go Bills! Kick some Jets *** and get back into the mix!!
Agree, it does not look good. But if the Bills win, it will clearly narrow the AFC East to Bills/Dolphins. In that scenario, the only team that matters in terms of wins and losses is Miami the rest of the season-- it's 4 seed or bust. All the conference record talk then becomes meaningless. All that matters is that the Bills are only one win behind Miami going into week 18. I don't care if the Bills are 7-9 if Miami is 8-8.
None of this is likely, but it's all we have left. And it seems better than nothing, if Brady can give some spark to the offense. There may still be time for Allen and the offense to get their heads right.

On the bright side, lots more free time at the holidays. No need to watch anymore.

Why is it so hard for fans to admit reality?

Who on God's green earth thinks they played a good game? They played poorly but found a way to win. Teams that are -3 on turnovers were 2-37 this year. Beating those kind of odds shows the resiliency of the team, not that they played good. You are risking the suspension of your matriculation privileges. 😁
