They DID get a yard. Problem is they needed about 4.5 feet!
Based on my math, it was a poor call. But...depending on your guess at Utility Function, your decision may vary. What was EGREGIOUSLY stupid was calling the time out. Had we have waited til they had the ball, it likely would've saved 20-30 seconds. Just enough (if we got the ball back) to have a chance of scoring.
p.s. Based on JA's response & how he said it, I don't think he was happy w/ the call & it was made by someone above him, be it Brady or Mcdufus.
How do you figure. It was PI in end zone. On the 1, not the 1 1/2. And the rest of this on Allen is just people projecting. We lost, it's

Cowherd's rant about the Bills wasting Josh Allen's talent was depressing.
Mahomes is 14-2 in games he puts up 400+ total yards, Allen is 4-5.
The Chiefs are 10-0 in one score games this year, with 15 straight wins in one score games. Meanwhile, the Bills are 5-6.
It's obvious the Chiefs aren't just "lucky," they've figured out how to win when it matters. The Bills still can't figure it out.
Neither have most other teams but the horseshoe Chiefs.

If they had gotten the yard like they typically do, the call would have been fine. Since it did not work, as Marv Levy once said, it obviously was the wrong call post hoc.

The defense was gashed all day by a 6-6 team. That's coaching. Or a crappy roster. One of those is true.
They are a 6-6 team because of major injuries early on. If you don't think the Rams are good with Nacua and Kupp playing, and their O-line healthy, I don't know what to tell you. But why let facts get in the way of your anger.

Not with respect to points- but with respect to every other aspect. Look at the box score. We had 22 more passing yards on 7 more attempts They were better in every other category. If you believe points are the only way to determine which offense was better- good for you. I know for a fact that that’s not true.
We did score much faster than the Rams. No need to argue, I get your point.

Lol- yes- and we didn’t. The rams did- they scored 44-42. So we lost. Football is only won on offense.
Right, our offense outscored theirs, but our special teams gave up a blocked punt. But point was you said Rams offense outplayed Bills offense. But not with respect to points.

It was an underthrown pass to a wide open WR that gave the rams the opportunity to block the punt. Josh hits that throw- we win- crucial plays play play a significant role in games. The rams had 72 plays, controlled the ball for 38.5 minutes and had a more balanced offense. Nacua was uncoverable when they needed him most all game.
The Rams had more yards and were 11/15 on 3rd down conversions. Winning on 3rd downs- usually wins the game imo. They dominated on 3rd downs. Made big plays. We missed a couple that we needed.
Scoring more points wins games imo.

No- it’s the truth. He missed some crucial throws. He played great game- but the rams offense was better
But Rams O scored fewer points.

Lions 2 1/2-point favorites next Sunday. Seems low. Lions defense is a mess, so maybe that is it.

The standard needed to be better today with the Rams offense absolutely executing at an elite level. Not saying the Bills offense wasn't super productive overall. I AM saying that the margin for error was miniscule, and they faltered JUST enough to fall short. (It ain't fair, no doubt.)
Stats do NOT capture the complexities and nuances of a complete NFL game. Allen was monstrously productive today. Such an elite stat line. But he also missed some glaring plays that could have changed the outcome. Simple and cruel evaluation.
Bills offense outscored Rams offense 42-37. Just sayin'.

The rams were the worst team in the league on 3rd down. Their offense absolutely abused Buffalo on third downs all game. Inexcusable
They have a lot of talent and had their A game today. If you don't think their offense was executing at an extremely high level, I don't know what to tell you. Stafford Nacua and Kupp were all outstanding.

I’m not sure at all. In fact they probably would have given up the first down and that would be game over.Doesn’t change the fact that the coaches choked in a critical moment.
They made a mistake that changed nothing. They are not perfect--OK. No one is.

Bad clock management at the end, but the real story was that the D laid an egg tonight. Plain and simple. They sucked.
And the Rams were really good. Sometimes you have to just tip the hat.

Well, then our coaches choked again. Is anybody surprised? Should have been 3 straight passes to burn minimal clock. Or at least Allen rolling out with a run/pass choice. Why oh why are you so sure the Bills would have gotten a 3 and out if they scored with a minute left and three timeouts. Given the Rams aggressiveness and the Bills utter inability to stop their offense all day, the likelihood that saving that time out would have made a difference is highly unlikely at best. Get real.

lol the people defending him. Still making mistakes after all these years.

Bills offense outplayed Rams offense. Blocked punt was difference.

Things that pissed me off besides the coaching SNAFUs:
Bills blitz packages which rarely if ever generate pressure.
Nick Wright called both Rams upset and Stafford going toe to toe with Allen.
that's a ***** shock.

because they had a good chance to win the game at the end after being down 17. Go Bills !!!
they did not have a good chance. One first down is all the Rams would have needed. And we could not stop them all day. Maybe a 5% chance.

Yeah, all teams can regularly perform at the level the Rams' offense is today.

Can you believe that?
To quote Seinfeld-- people, they're the worst. Especially those posting in this thread. My God! I hope the Bills don't win because the takes here will be really ridiculous.

Let's get out of here with a loss and Allen healthy.

Did Josh like the call at the goal line?

Probably. But by the time they unraveled the pile another 15 seconds at least would run before a spike and they would be down to 45 seconds or so. Basically, they went all in on the sneak working. But your point is fair.
