  1.      I saw the Yardbirds in concert Sunday night in Homer,NY. It was fantastic. They may not have Beck or Paige anymore, but the three guitarists they do have were perfect. That and the history of the Yardbirds from the start until they morphed into Led Zepellin. The singer even sounded like Keith Relf.

I bring this up because they are in Annapolis, Md at Rams Head on Stage tonight.  If you like Rock, Blues or great guitar playing, you should take this opportunity to see them.  I would readily go if they were close to me.

  2.    I haven't read all the posts in this thread, so I don't know if anyone else mentioned this.   There was a game in the playoffs, I can't remember which game, where the left tackle performed the exact same move that Dawkins did.  No penalty.  On top of that, the announcers singled the play out as a great technique.

I wish I could remember the game but too many playoffs games blur my memory.

This was bad but I thought the worse one was Cooper Kupp’s bad penalty overlooked on Puka’s last td. It was blatant, right at the point of attack and definitely contributed to success of the play. There is no way they didn’t see it.

At first I thought it was just a Super-pick, but on the replay it like it was also a hold.  Technically, is this a penalty or not/

Many years ago when i was working a lot out of town and around various parts of the country (we were doing renovations at different hospitals to bring their morgues up to code as per the new legislation) and as often times happens, the boys would have some free time in the evenings after work to do some drinking and get into some mischief.

The game that started up every night at the bars was the "dog fight"........every guy put in $20 at the beginning of the night and whoever took home the ugliest girl, got the pot and sometimes that pot would hit anywhere between $200-$300 a night.

It always seemed that "ole Tex" won that thing every night. He did his research, man.......he kept notes, graphs, pie charts, what have you and walked away with an average of $200/per night........also walked away with some real nasty ladies as well.

I honestly thought i would have had better odds to win, as i am not pleasant to look at, but i never won even once.

Dog fights.......love em or hate em?

You know, the women were playing the same game.  Why do you think Tex won every night?

I played hookie from grad school with a couple buddies so that we could go see the Dodgers on opening day.  We were looking forward to watching
Jerry Reuss (sp?), then the Dodger ace, pitch.

We were extremely disappointed that he had some sort of injury and some rookie we never heard of had to take the mound to start the game.  It was Fernando, who went on to set some sort of record based on how he started the season.  Not sure if it's been broken.

Might have been most consecutive scoreless innings (over several games) for a rookie starting his major league career.  Can't remember exactly, 'cause that was a long time ago.

Glad I skipped classes that day.

He won his first 9 games, 5 by complete game shutouts.   He won the Rookie of the Year award and the CyYoung for the year.  I believe he is the only player who has done that.

    RIP

It wasn't the team for me, it was the owner.

I was a diehard Oakland A's fan. Then John Fischer came in and raped the team and is moving them to a crap hole in Las Vegas.

Some of my best memories as a sports fan were at Oakland A's games. Oakland fans are a lot like Buffalo fans. Ride and die with your team.

What John Fischer did to the A's organization is criminal.

That's definitely a WNY, especially Southern Tier, thing.   I've heard people refer to the village of Silver Creek as Silver Crik.

One thing that I've noticed recently on tv is some actors seem to add an extra syllable to some words, most notably on words that end in ing.  Examples:

    go-ing becomes go-ing-ga or com-ing becomes com-ing-ga.

I was going to type the same thing-ga.  I knew people in western NY that talked that way, even back in 70's.

A crik is that thing you played around and in when you were a kid.  A creek is that thing that seems to flood once in a while, like Ellicott creek.

It was a leading cause of blindness amongst boys that age back in the day.

I think I read that, anyway.

I can't say if that is true or not but reading this damn forum in brail really sucks.

I have one issue I have saved over the years.  It is the issue with John Lennon's last interview.

  9.   My DaCapo favorite.  Arthur Lee had a sound in his head and it took long time for the drummer to get it right.  I've posted their Glastonbury version before and it's worth going to Youtube to see.  This is the original.

From the  "Forever Changes" album, one of the best of the unknown albums of the 60's.  They were probably 3-5 years too early with their music.

Nobody is hating him. And being a "pretty good QB" is exactly the problem. He is like Kirk Cousins or Dak Prescott. Good enough to have a good regular season and get to the playoffs sometimes, but not good enough to win a Super Bowl. Not good enough to be able to put the team on his back and will them to victory.

Teams with a QB like that usually have to pay them, but then never end up going anywhere in the long run until they move on.

Sounds like you are describing Jim Kelly.
