This is currently the conservative right's screaming point of the moment, or cause celebre if you will. Will had an article about it a couple days ago and now Limbaugh is going off on it right now. I'm pretty sure if you turn on Fox News tonite there will be plenty said about it on O'Reilly and Hannity. Once they get tired of this I wonder what other fascinating topic they'll turn to next?

This story is also toast....after Jacko's demise. Hunter S. Thompson would probably say Jacko was too washed up to die...too weird to live

Where in the world is Mark Sanford?

I didn't mean "the affair". What I meant is that he used taxpayer dollars to go down there on what was basically a pleasure trip, with or without a woman. Doesn't matter. Soon he'll have plenty of time to hike the Appalaichian trail...or is Argentinian tail? -
Where in the world is Mark Sanford?

The REAL reason why he'll probably have to step down. Sort of the same with Spitzer, you don't act like a law and order Wall st reformer and then break the law . With Sanford you don't make an ostentatious display of refusing stimulus money then go down to South America for a tryst on your state's dime. -

I have to listen to Rush in an hour to find out if he agrees. On yesterday's program Limbaugh remarked on Sanford's candidness, straight shooting, non-scripted words. Limbaugh found an unlikely ally in that regard. http://www.salon.com/opinion/kamiya/2009/06/25/mark_sanford/ -

Who has asked him to step down? Seriously, I'm not trying to call you out or anything. I'm just curious. Also, I don't think anyone made any excuses for Spitzer. Why Sanford is getting such grief is because he disappeared, made phony excuses, and actually said don't cry for me Argentina in one of the most surreal press conferences since Bud Clark shot himself. -

This scuzzball is going to have to step down...expect it probably tomorrow. look at these e-mails http://www.thestate.com/sanford/story/839350.html What a clown...even by southern republican standards. Face it....he may not be as much of a screwball as Bobby Jindal. He might not be as much of a loose cannon as seperatist governor Rick Perry of Texas....hell he probably isn't even as kinky as tender Vitter, but my god for pure unadulterated stream of consciousness bizarre bull sh-- he cannot be beat thanks to his mesmerizing "press conference" today. -

Yeah that's gotta be it. Job abandonment by an elected official is merely a secondary story. Astute political followers will remember Sanford as the grandstanding clown who wanted to turn down the stimulus money his state would recieve, hopefully we can assume he paid for the cruise out of pocket. -
Argentina. What an ass, even by southern Republican standards.

Touring Buffalo- What to see and do?
Bishop Hedd replied to DDD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Anchor Bar's wings now verge on inedible. How anyone can still mention them as having good wings escapes me, though I did have some at their new location at the Buffalo airport and they were quite good. If you're going to eat wings in the city go to Weichecs. It's a post Ralph stop for me after the game, and sometimes during the game when I leave the stadium early. An amazing assortment of characters hang out on football Sunday including one gentleman Bills fan who insults the team so vulgarly that I had to break down and laugh out loud. Nobody there blinked an eye at his comments. -

Casey's is good but hasn't anyone here ever heard of McPartlans in Williamsville, or is it Cheektowaga?, for a fish fry? -

I never hear any mention of "Picasso's" when it comes to Buffalo's best Pizza. Isn't that a chain? I live within walking distance of three pizza places Mr. Pizza, La Nova, and Just Pizza and I'll usually go for La Nova cuz their service is halfway decent but their wings are hit and miss. Mr. Pizza has the best pizza and solid wings but 75% of the time they'll forget they ever took your order. Just Pizza should be avoided at all costs. -
Something tells me the government wants to get in the reefer business. Hell, it might even lower the price.

I try to stay on the American side as the Clifton Hill tack n brac tends to take away my money faster than the casino. NFNY recently built this monsterously out of place "Snow Park" on Second street downtown. I haven't been there but have seen it. It's got this gigantic slide that looks completely out of place in an urban setting, kids might like it. Across the street the Howard Johnson's runs helicopter rides, then there's always the usual Maid, Cave of the Winds. I like to hike the gorge trail and it's fun and safe for kids..as long as they don't venture too close to the edge. Also Lewiston is very pleasant and you might be able to catch a free show at the Art Park if you come on a Tuesday. I like the area further up north by Old Fort Niagara. You can sit on the shores of the Lake and see actually see Toronto. On the way back stop by the Ontario House in Youngstown. Across Elmwood from the Knox is a new art museum that has been very well recieved, The Burchfield Penny. My daughter liked it. If you walk by Elmwood from there stop by Cecellias patio by Breckenridge and have some of Steve's little neck clams, lobster daintys or oysters and wash it down with a Harp. Grew up with Bocce on Bailey and worked there while attending school up the street. Still tastes the same as ever...which could be both good and bad depending on your view. I like Weichecs in Kaisertown for wings...both Buffalo style and breaded. Parkside Candies still is on Main and Winspear. The new Erie Canal site is pretty nice but not exactly overwhelming, but as everyone here will tell you "it's a start". Guess they're trying to get people down there so they're holding a bunch of concerts down there during August and September. Don't forget Allentown and the Broadway Market...or Fantasy Island. -

Yeah why not....we already have a healthy glow from all those Manhatten projects and chemical plants and what have you from days of yore. One thing for sure, there's enough Homer Simpson's around here to run the damn thing.
