"Stealing" Drevil? Let's be real here. I move into a building where there's a wire sticking out of the floor (I didn't ask for it to be there, it just was) of the living room and bedroom. I then proceed to attach said wire to my TV for shiits and giggles...ya know...see what happens. Bingo! Cable...which I didn't think would last a week. After a month rolled by I asked the building owner if cable came free with the rent and he told me no. Adelphia, and later Time Warner, could have stopped by anytime and removed the wires from my premises...but no. They could have snipped the cable out from the pole in the back alley the 100 times they stopped by with their truck parked outside my kitchen but did they? No. So if I get you right I should have reported this immediately to this wonderful altruistic and much beloved corporation. Right after I replant my cherry tree.

I would not have minded if lightning had struck twice in the new building I now reside in....unfortunately, unlike my old residence, there was no wire coming out of the floor that said "Adelphia" that I was able to screw into the back of my TV and recieve 75 free channels, which 60 of them suck.

But doesn't it need it? Cable is probably one of the most useless things you could blow your money on. Much of the crap on there being subsidized by people who actually pay is unwatchable. That's why I loved giving Adelphia and Time Warner the finger for five and a half years...they deserve it! More power to anyone else.

It basically fell into my lap when I moved back to Buffalo 6 years ago. 5 and a half years of free cable was fun but I wouldn't pay a penny for that crap. Talk about something that needs a complete overhaul its the cable/dish whatever industry, and its only gotten worse with media consolidation.

I never paid a cable bill in my life and I wasn't about to start.

Air America went off the air locally about 5 years ago. I listened to it on WHLD 1270 on occassion mainly for the station's local morning show-which was a refreshing antidote to the far right bombast of angry white man Tom Buerle on WBEN-and Amy Goodman and Pacifica. As for Air America's programming it got tiresome fast. I don't know anyone who supports a liberal/progressive, left whatever agenda who really listens to any kind of talk radio. Personally speaking I pretty much just listen to Stephanie Miller and that's about it, 2 days a week. I dropped cable last fall so I don't see the CNN's, MSNBC's or Fox anymore. I honestly can't tell you how happy that makes me. I know that has absolutely nothing to do with your post but maybe I was under the mistaken impression that this thread was about Air America. As for the meat of your post my Gawd! Not only do Cons yearn for the not so bygone era of 2000-05, the era Of Bush/Chaney, Tom Delay and what they laughingly figured was the beginning of a period of permanent republican dominance, but you all (TO A T) still yearn for those bad old days of the great satan emperor Ronnie Raygun. Why stop there, you all still sport wood for Raygun's hero Goldwater....though Goldwater would probably cringe if he were around to take note of what passes for conservajism these days. So the cons weren't repudiated after Newtie's contract on America?Probably according to you they were validated.

Franken is a senator which absolutely pisses off everyone here , Maddow has a successful cable show, Randy Rhodes can still be heard locally on KB going on four years now.... A failure? Look who's president?
