1. I'm not going to say that I think JP is on the same level as Ben, he's not at this point in his career. I will say though that if you hold JP to the standard you stated above, "If his play / numbers can't stand up for themselves, he shouldn't be in there!", then you should hold Ben to the same standard. Is it time for the Steelers to bench Ben?

I personally think that would be a mistake to bench Ben, just as I thought it was a mistake to bench JP last year. Sometimes it is in the long term interest of a team to ride rough times out with the players they have picked to lead them for years to come rather than compromise the long term for a minimal short term gain.

Agreed. I don't think Losman should be pulled. The orginal post compared the two. Clearly Ben is having a terrible season, and JP had 1.5 bad games (bears and jets). Neither warrants benching, but in terms of past performance (which often predicts future results) Ben and JP are in difference leagues.

  2. ahhh, the irony.

Sign #1 of a troll...contradicting themselves in successive posts to attempt to prove a point, or even in the same post.

Kind of ironic. The difference - Ben has performed successfully in the past. He won the SB. In the playoffs last year, he put the team on his back and carried them to the SB. There is a history of success and a reason to infer that maybe some of the misfortune that occured this summer is leading to current performance.

The original post was trying to compare JP and Ben and there is a fundamental difference. JP has never been successful. Anywhere. Why people need to make excuses for bad performance or bring down successes of other QBs to make JP look better is beyond me.

  3. Sorry JDG, for the team around Grossman and his prior starting experience, his games WERE essentially as bad.  Spin it any way you like, but thems the facts.  Put JP on the Bears this year, and they're 5-0 as well.

And Hasselbeck has been in Seattle's system for HOW long now?  Again, for the team around him...

Keep at it though, you're winning everyone over.

    799633

That makes no sense. You have no idea how JP rates VS Grossman's intagibles. You can't say that Grossman and Lossman would do the same thing in the same situation.

Grossman doesn't lock on to one receiver, he sees the field. He hits his open men on deep routes.

The Bears D has been unbelievable this year, but Rex is having a fantastic year as well. There's no way you can infer that given the same set of circumstances that JP would perform the same way.

Its another excuse that you have to come up with when your QB performs mediocre at best. Just let it be. If he's going to make, he will. Your defending him like he's your first born has nothing to do with his success.

  4. c'mon get real. Ben was in the hospital all preseason and then had surgery the week before his first game. He's just getting healthy. I hope you're not trying to compare the two on any level besides them being drafted the same year.

You guys just look for excuses for Lossman. If his play / numbers can't stand up for themselves, he shouldn't be in there!

Freaks - i am not calling for Nall. I just think its retarded to make excuses for a bad performance.

  5. Actually, in the spirit of the negative nancies of this board who whine when we win, I believe the consensus would be to trade JP to Green Bay for an "conditional pick" THEN pick this CB up off waivers.  Somehow we gotta dump JP...right everyone? <_<

I am a long time lossman critic. I'd gladly eat crow if the bills go on and have a winning season, but the year is far from over.

JP has made progress, and hopefully will turn out as ole whitey thought. I'd hate to use another high pick on a qb when we have many needs to address.

All i'm saying is it ain't over yet.

  6. Then why is he a game time decision for 2 weeks in a row... Jusy !@#$ing say he's our for a month.... Its just annoying.... and I did have a 2nd degree tear of my hamstring and I was back in 8 days.... my rehab each day was heat-stim-heat-mild stretch-stim -- Div II baseball in NC....  :P  :w00t:

baseball and football are worlds apart. Lots of standing in baseball, and none in football.

Fat guys like John Krukcan be all stars. He wouldn't last a day playing OLB in the NFL.

  7. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Haynes a DT? By the way, I did't see any cuts from Baltimore either.

I still think that the Bills need help in the middle and Haynes is a young player. As far as his ability and character goes, I don't have an accurate gauge.

If I'm not mistaken, Houston has the first waiver claim right. Any input on this would be appreciated.

    760340

Haynes was drafted as a DE. The Bears moved him from DE to DT last year.

I think it would be a good pick up. He may even have some interest in joining the Bills w/ DJ as his coach.

  8. I am really hoping that they have targeted a couple of guys for June 1st cuts or guys that have not been picked up yet.

I still say Grady Jackson could help this team

    647707

Chris Jenkins from Carolina could be another June 1 cut. He hasn't played in 2 seasons (not talking jp here) but would be someone to take a chance on. Dude can play when he's healthy.

  9. djfarr I dont really like to talk badly of other posters....but you keep saying that same &$&$ over and over again....posters are correcting you on it....and you continue to do it.

JP Losman has NOT had 2 seasons....

    - He lost his first season to injury

    - His second season he played poorly in the beginning....played much better when he was put back in.....and then (for whatever reason we do NOT know) he was taken out again and Holcomb was put back in.....

That does NOT equal 2 seasons regardless of what planets math you use.

    646814

How many seasons has he been on the roster? Thanks

People can continue to try and correct me, but I believe i am right. Just like when you say the same load of crap about JP showing signs of improvement the last few games. Which you state over and over and over and over and over

I don't post nearly as often as you, and only do when I see so much obsession over a no talent like JP.

And for the record, he was listed as injured. Anything beyond that is speculation.

  10. ;)  ;)

Ahh i see, now its Losman's fault that the o-line was bad. theres a new one.

Losman missed 1 game due to injury. last year. 1 game. Mularkey claiming JP was hurt just so he could start holcomb and try to save his job holds no water.

    find me a list.

    God you are dense.

    646278

He actually missed a bunch of games last year because he was hurt.

YOUR INTERPRETATION is that the coach sat him out because another qb gave us a better chance to win (which is ironic in itself).

YOU were not there. You don't know that to be true.

THE FACTS are JP has missed at least 13 games over two seasons because of injury. If thats not showing potential for being anything but injury prone then i don't know what is.

Other people can have opinions and they are not morons simply because they don't agree with you.

You haven't once backed up a fact with why JP is good.

Lots of QBs have come back from bad years - lots haven't

He had better stats then Elway - who the hell cares

He had a bad line - a successful QB can hide some oline problems with smart decisions.

Tell me something good he's done for an entire game - or better yet over the course of 4 games.

the only thing i can come up with is be injured. He does that very well

  11. That's what worries me most - the pick spent on Rodgers the next year.

    636337

they got a guy with a high first round grade (Kiper had him top 5), with the prospect of Favre retiring.......they almost had to take Rogers last year

Prefer not to think it was because CN was a poor player
