  1. This is an interesting question, especially because you can get wildly different perspectives. Tosh on Tosh.0 is okay, Tosh in a real life standup show is awesome.

Patton Oswalt's live standup shows are great, same with Gabriel Iglesias.

For me, the worst standup show I've ever seen was Tracy Morgan, and I love the guy on TV. He sat on stage and talked into a mic about how much he loved having sex for an hour. I also recently saw Ralphie May and he basically did the same thing, but at least had a couple jokes. Both of them were god awful, which is disappointing because Ralphie May's TV CC Special was hilarious, and same with Tracy on SNL/30 Rock.

  2.

There is nothing that is "predicting" here. It simply shows that teams records from one year to the next fluctuate a lot more than most people think, and past performance is never a guarantee of future success.(Kind of like the stock market disclaimers)

People are trying to use past team strength as a prediction for the next year's strength of schedule, so yes there is a prediction there, and the model used in that prediction is very poor (simply: what did they do last year?)

This doesn't mean it's impossible to create a decent model to predict strength of schedule; it means that simply going off of last season's results to predict this season's strength of schedule is a bad way to do it.

  3. My first love with Earbuds were the Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10s, but unfortunately after Logitech bought UE they basically discontinued all their good earbuds and turned them into a Bluetooth Speaker company / pro custom IEMs only.

What I loved about the Super Fi.5 EB and the Triple.Fi 10s is they had a multi-driver setup with a driver specifically setup for bass, so it was wonderful for electronic music. The TripleFi 10s full range was excellent.

I ended up buying a pair of SONY MDR-XB90EX off of Amazon, which is a Japan only model with a built in sub. They're... okay, but certainly don't have the great fidelity range of the TripleFi 10s.

These seem like the best alternative for a currently supported product: https://www.amazon.com/Shure-SE535-V-Isolating-Definition-MicroDrivers/dp/B003NSBKT6

I might just spend half the money and pick up an old pair of TripleFi.10s off of Ebay tho.

    Anyone else have a suggestion?

  4. Buffalo, Houston, KC, Rams, Minn, Chicago, Washington if they got rid of Cousins.

They clearly aren't the same. The WR picked the better QB for him. Clear as day. You said it yourself.

    Ignoring the Buffalo debate...

    Houston - just drafted Watson

KC - just traded up to draft Mahomes

Rams - just traded up to draft Goff

    MIN - Bradford > Flacco

    CHI - Agreed

WSH - They still have Cousins (but if he left, agreed)

  5. and the choice was obvious. No big time FA WR will come here.

First off, Flacco isn't a very good QB outside of that hot playoff run.

Flacco recorded an NFL passer rating of 83.1 in 2015, which was the worst for quarterbacks with at least 400 dropbacks. In 2013, he was at 73.1, which was the worst for quarterbacks with at least 600 dropbacks.
But even if we put that aside, the choice came down to Philly vs Baltimore:
I can't wait for you to tell me how Philly was obvious over Buffalo because of Wentz.
  6. Flacco is really living off of that hot playoff run for most of you. He's not a very good NFL QB.

In spite of what I have said previously in this thread, at heart I am an optimist. Quality of food may have been in decline but there appears to be an upsurge in restaurants using locally sourced foods http://www.restaurant.org/News-Research/News/Demand-for-local-foods-is-on-the-rise

and there are more local vendors at farmers markets advertising their items (with pics of their farm/operation) that their items are grown with no synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, ionizing radiation, etc. Perhaps this will spread and people will eat more healthy so draconian measures are not necessary. Maybe continued education on eating healthy would be beneficial. Fortunately, some of us have the means ($) to purchase these items. The untreated local specialty food market items are expensive and beyond the budget of those who might benefit the most. I am uncertain how that can be addressed.

What is incredible is the amazing taste of packaged foods. They are non nutritious but they have been designed to 'create hunger' for more. Stimulate the consumer but not entirely satisfy as you do not want the consumer to feel full. Design a food with a nice crunch, mix of simple tastes, fats for smoothness, tingling saltiness, & underlying sweetness. Make it light so that it can be consumed by grazing...not eating. That way you will purchase the 30 pack box at Sam's. It's genius.

Dammit, DF1O5, I'm a biochemist, not an flavorist.

How do you feel about Blue Apron? I'm a huge fan.

  8. A very good friend has a kid who works at CFA. They are taught to follow the Ritz Carlton practice of replacing "you're welcome" with "my pleasure". Little things make a difference. A cut above.

They have to say it when you say thank you too. Whenever I'm at CFA, I say Thank You as many times as possible. I think my record for "my pleasures" is like 6, gotta try for higher.

YAY! More garbage food for obese WNY'ers.

As if not enough of the women around here are whales as it is...

The nice part about Chik-Fil-A is you can actually eat decent there. 12pc nuggets + ketchup + greek yogurt parfait = ~600 calories, 40g protein. It'd be less if I got the grilled but let's be honest, the fried breading on the nuggets is the best part.
