  1. I wouldn't exactly call Clinton or Carter a hawk.
  2. Uh, what? I knew perfectly why I was against it (which I wouldn't be if AD is correct and not what I got from previous information).
  3. Yep, I know, though I would hesitate to call it campaigning, simply because those events are usually not very large, and not something a campaign would normally do, either. I seriously doubt it had much, if any impact on the voting. Sketchy? Sure.
  4. He's really into those Republican talking points, isn't he, implying that Democrats today are not "pro-American" in this comment: "a party that was unhesitatingly and proudly pro-American". He also is very quick to compare previous wars with terrorism, without talking about any of the nuances that make it different (and one of the causes of the ideological split), as well as seeming to embrace a Wilsonian view of foreign policy. Can't say I agree with him.
  5. Technically, fund-raising isn't campaigning.
  6. Hell, I'd vote for him in that race.
  7. You anti-emotite bastard.
  8. Haha. You would have gotten me if you had used a tinyurl link, but I noticed it was Youtube. BTW, did you hear about the Mets rickroll?
  9. Youtube for emoticons eh? I'm going to guess its the "Sit On You" guy.
  10. Emoticons are a valuable resource and must be used wisely!
  11. Badass, I'm totally moving there.
  12. Yep, thats exactly what I did when I bought my Lancer (emailed the dealers and played them back and forth - didn't buy Fighting Chance), and I got it well under what my credit union gave me as the invoice price!
  13. This got me a bit curious, care to expand on those other factors?
  14. How much do your unicorns cost?
  15. Yeah, from my understanding the gubmint was going to pick up a lot of the costs. If what Darin said was correct (need to do some research), I don't have a problem with it.
  16. I think the question for him is more along the lines of "Is he that much better than McGee and Parrish, that we want him to replace a guy that has experience doing it in the NFL?" I doubt they'll NOT let him return some kicks or punts this year, seeing as how they had Leonhard returning some last year, but I think the coaching staff wants to put the emphasis on that they picked him to be a defensive player first and foremost, with his special teams ability being second.
  17. Note to Lakesider: That is applicable to any politician.
  18. I was worried you might be developing an emoticon addiction, or binge emoticoning. But alas, it sounds like you enjoy emoticons responsibly.
  19. Sketch, your last post is approaching EIL levels of emoticon usage.
  20. Canadiens are silly.
  21. Hey now, don't forget Gravel!
  22. Heh, yup, though I think its easy for people to assume that if a journalist is writing about a topic, he would be well-educated in a topic, but that's not the way the media works.
  23. ^^ - Pretty much how I feel about it. I would think that there is going to be a ton of money involved in just getting the infrastructure up and running, and that much of this cost is going to be handled by the government. I know that there have been fights about budget proposals in previous years due to ANWR, and that it was included in there somewhere (though I'm not sure what the actual costs would add up to). With it not being a long-term solution, not really fixing much of anything, whats the point of spending the money? I also think both sides' positions on the environmental issues is likely way overstated (that it would completely kill the environment for the left, and that it wouldn't have any impact from some of the people that are supporting it). It would definitely be a boost for Alaska. However, is that your reason for supporting the drilling? I thought you weren't a big fan of government spending money to create jobs.
