  1. In my senior year at UB's School of Management, I took Geography and the entire class was devoted by the Professor to bash Bush for not signing the Kyoto Accord and slam his military spending. That didn't go over well with a lot of us. My best friend took that class with me and he's in training to become an Army Ranger. Three more of his Army buddies were in that class so it was rather fun seeing the exchanges. Back to your original point, the Kyoto Accord would put a Fucillo HUGE burden on the USA, and quite frankly, I got the impression that they don't know exactly if the Accord would make a drastic difference. Also, if Bush did sign the Kyoto Accord how many of the people that are bashing him now for not signing it would bash him for the major job losses that would follow?
  2. Filesharing is the way of the future, it can't be stopped nor will it ever. Go to zeropaid.com ... they have a few versions there. The best music sharing program is Ares. I just turned to it a few weeks ago after I got sick of Shareaza. When you install it, make sure to uncheck the two extra programs that come with it. You dont need them and they may be spyware.
  3. A few months back another NHLer (Trevor Liden I believe) went off saying that NFL Players weren't happy with their current CBA with the NFL. Troy Vincent -- President of Players Inc (NFLPA) -- came out and pretty much made the hockey player sound like an a-hole. He said that NFL players couldn't be happier with their current CBA.
  4. I don't disagree with you one bit, but if I had to pick one side of the fence to stay on, it would be the side that says global warming is just cyclic process. If we can't accurately predict weather next week, why should we trust these people to predict weather 100 years from now.
  5. Global Warming = Manipulated data that scientists use to get big money grants and research funding from international bodies and governments. Earth goes through cycles.... It Gets Warm, It Gets Cold, It Gets Really Warm, The Then It Gets Really Cold. Billions of years, it's always been the same way. Michael Crichton just wrote a book about it called State of Fear. The story is fictional but the data and information on this very topic is factual.
  6. On soccer we completely disagree, but I'm with you 100% on this one. As Sabres fans, we want a deal to get done for this season. Why, because our team is more prepared to play than any other team in the league. We have everyone signed but Zhitnik. Other teams have 12-15 guys signed! Plus our Rochester boys are kicking ass. My girl said that she'd be pissed if we won the Cup this year because there would be an astreiks next to it. After I dreamt about slapping her silly, I told her it would make up for the 99 astreiks on that cup! Go Sabres!!!!!!!!!! Go NHL-NHLPA Deal!
  7. IMHO, I believe the word I would use was sick. I was a sick hockey player and kept getting better as I got older. But a really bad wrist injury hindered me in the end.
  8. The Origins of American Football The origins of football have been traced back to the game of rugby. In 1823, a gamresembling what is today modern day football began at the famous Rugby boys’ school in England. American students in Princeton and Harvard Universities quickly adopted a form of football which they began to steadily play. Many of the early football games were extremely violent and rough. So are you saying we should eliminate our football? WTF is an American sport anyways? Lacrosse? Everything else comes from where you and myself come from ... foreign countries!
  9. Dude, as I mentioned before, I like TD. Just cause I took a shot at his mistakes at QB, doesn't mean I have a crusade against him. The reason for the post is to say that Tom scheduled the Bledsoe conference for the same time as the NHL conference because he didn't want the attention. Nothing more, nothing less. Oh, sorry, I give you permission to place lips right back on TD's old ass. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
  10. I love TD man. But the man is nuts about his "aura" in the public and media eye.
  11. Go to wikipedia.com and type in EPL. All your questions will be answered. I love the relegation system but it wouldn't work in most American sports. Too bad though, the threat of relegation makes every game on every day matter. So even the games between two bottom feeders is huge.
  12. Not sure if this was posted, but Tom Donahoe specifically wanted to have the Bills hold the Bledsoe press conference at the very moment the NHL would hold their's to drown the story out in the media. TD has some sort of public image disorder where he or his mistakes can never be portrayed in a bad way. In fact, surfing among us is someone in the Bills organization that reports directly to Tom letting him know what is being said on TBD and other internet websites. A little crazy if you ask me. Just do your job man, you made a mistake at QB. We all make mistakes, granted you made the same one twice. Just don't do it again and get a really good backup in case JP wets the bed.
  13. The 205lb hockey player I was would surely kick the crap out of the 185lb soccer player I am. Every Saturday morning my friend I watch FSW and follow Liverpool FC religiously. My third favorite team in the world, behind the Bills and and Sabs.
  14. Kevin ... I didn't start this thread. I'm just giving the other side. I love football, I love soccer, I love hockey. But I won't just stand on the sidelines and let people attack something because they don't understand it. On a side note for you: How are the Sabres prospects looking?
  15. To play competively ... yes! I can hang up my skates for a year, and come back like I never missed a day. If you don't play soccer for a year, you can't even come close to the same skill level you had before. Case in point... When I played puck in college, I barely played soccer. It's taking me 2+ years now to regain some of my skills. I'm no where near to what I used to be. I missed 8 months of hockey after wrist surgery, I came back better than before. Obviously hitting wise, hockey and football are tougher. To play 90 minutes straight with only 5-10 minutes in between, that my friends is tougher than playing five seconds every now and then.
  16. Out of my league? Actually, I stepped in your league with that comment. Soccer sucks, soccer's for pussies. We can both play name games all day long. I feel like I'm arguing with a liberal. You know, when all the facts are pointing in a clear direction, yet they still are set in their ways.
  17. Obviously you are not listening. And the 10-12 pages this thread will spur proves no one else is as well. I played college hockey ... a man's game that we can all agree on. Let me tell you that soccer is 10x harder to play competitively than any other sport I ever played. You actually have to think and be in shape to play it. But then again, fatasses -- which I image you being -- wouldn't know that.
  18. If anything, it's the only thing Buffalo's actually nothing falling behind on. Down south, soccer is a lot bigger than up north, for obvious weather reasons. Alaska Darin, stick to your financial advice.
  19. You are wrong. If you hit the ball first you can tackle from behind. I've been on this board for a long time. I am aware of your "board prestige". Congrats. Personally your post count means stevestojan to me.
  20. Good Reads: From US Dept. of State: http://usinfo.state.gov/usa/a071103.htm From UK Paper: http://observer.guardian.co.uk/osm/story/0...1270849,00.html Look in your own backyards people. Buffalo is building huge soccer complexes everwhere. There are more soccer leagues & fields here than any other sport.
  21. Funny you should say this, tomorrow at 2pm, me and about 11 of my friends are going to play a football game at UB's Old Stadium. Cost of play: ZERO DOLLARS. If the rest of the world wanted to play football, they could, but they don't. How many of your 12,900+ enlightening post are rehashes of themselves? Soccer is something you will never understand. Since you can't understand it, it sucks. But as I mentioned before, I'd love to take you to a Liverpool - Manchaster United game. The game that you say sucks wouldn't suck anymore.
  22. You're wrong. Look at the stats. I don't have a link handy, but soccer recently turned into #1 youth sport in America. If those things were said in the 70s, then they were stupid. American's don't like things we suck in. We don't suck in soccer anymore. The better we get nationally, the bigger the sport will be here.
  23. Please, don't insult me by saying you think I'm French. French soccer sucks, but that's because everything French sucks. BTW: My old username is no longer available to me, and I wanted to change it anyway. I was too lazy to re-register but I felt I had to chime in.
  24. Are you referring to the best sports league with the most passionate fans in America or the World. Because if it's the latter, you're wrong. I'd argue leagues like the EPL -- English Premier League -- are the richest, most passionate and best run. Football is the king sport in America. Soccer is a way of life everywhere else. People on both sides of this argument need to realize that.
  25. I love all sports. I don't like to bash sports, but how people that make baseball their national pasttime think soccer is boring is beyond me. However, I can say this: 90% of you that hate soccer, if you went to a World Cup game or an English Premier League game. You're walking out of that stadium loving the sport. The experience is second to none. I already have my ticket application in for the 2006 World Cup. I am counting down the days. By 2020, soccer will overtake this country. It might not pass the NFL ever, but it surely will pass the other big three in due time. Any other TSWers planning to head over to the next World Cup? Sam's Army is going to have a large contingent there, it will be a blast.
