1. Or anything similar, for that matter?

"I'd have loved to have Jonas here, but again, those are decisions I know nothing about," he said. "I just play football. I'm sure whoever they put at left tackle will do a great job. And if he needs a little pep in his step, I'll be there to put it in him."

Seriously......not trying to slam Drew.....I just think a quote like this is indicative of what was missing with him at the helm. Besides the Shannahan quote about JP on the 'Sounds of the Game' program, the one thing that really struck me about this kid was his command in the huddle. He has a natural tendency to take charge of the offense, and I think we need that.

Okay, I'm going to start running now before Bill in NYC comes after me with an axe B-)

JP Losman = guaranteed Hall of Famer

Bledsoe = lucky to have ever completed a pass in his career

  2. If TE Ben Watson is fully recovered from his season-ending injury (knee?), he has speed to burn.

    262463

Yes speed to burn for a tight end. I don't think he'll be converting to WR. Particularly not with Givens around. One of those tight ends Graham, Fauria or Watson has to go. Love to see Watson Or Graham here.

  3. It's not just who isn't coming to the Pats, it's who they've lost.

    Roman Phifer, smart 4th LB

Joe Andruzzi, better than average road grader

    Ty Law, shut down corner

Troy Brown, triple threat; WR, punt returner, CB(3 INTs)

David Patten, 44 catches 7TDs(tied team lead)

I hope I'm wrong, because he's a great guy, but Tedy Bruschi may have played his last game.

And of course, Weis and Crennel arguably the 2 best coordinators in the league.

Hollywood will tell us that none of this matters, but as a rival AFC East team I think

parity may be returning to our division.

  4. I own a small company and much of what we do involves working with software unique to our type of business. We invest a fair amount of time, unproductive to us, getting the new employees up to speed. These are skills they will carry with them to their next job and will enhance their marketability.

I would appreciate it any time an employee could give us all the lead time possible

before leaving. Helps us to train someone and of course gives us more time to search for the right person to fill the slot.

If you can give your employer a month my guess is they would be thankful rather than spiteful.

  5. Say what you will about Belichek, but he seems to know when to let a player go. If he says it was in the Pat's best interests to let Brown go, it probably was.

    258760

Jermaine Wiggins. Cast off tight end after their first Super Bowl. Caught 10 passes in the Snow Bowl. Not invited to camp.

He was the leading receiver for the Vikes last year. Spires, Woody, Milloy they all can still play and several others.

  6. Brown and Phifer were BACKUPS last year and law was on the shelf for well over half the season.  The team will be fine without them.  Mangini has Belichick's trust and Weis was vastly overrated.  Again, your ignorance of the Pats is causing you to make very foolish-sounding claims.

Oh, I get it.  You're just bitter.  Now that I know you're a MadBuffaloDisease-esque troll, I feel rather foolish for treating you as a civilized debating partner.

When did I say I was "excited" about Johnson taking Phifer's job?  I used that as an example to show how far Phifer had fallen.

Here's some advice:  Get a !@#$ing clue before you start spouting off on topics about which you know nothing.

    257931

Lots of quotes, but no responses. Lots of name calling. That's what folks do when they got no game.

Keep your advice to yourself. You bring your smug sh-t to a Bills board pontificating about football, but the truth is your knowledge pales to your bragadaccio.

  7. Guys get cut all the time, especially older players with high cap costs whose production has fallen dramatically.  Your ignorance of the situation has led you to make far too much of it.

    257894

You're rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic my friend. Losing Crennel, Weis,

and 3 player-coaches like Phifer, Law and Brown is going to be immense. Belichick is outsmarting himself this time.

And Bethel Johnson is gone too. He actually spoke in less than glowing terms to the media about his coach during the season. That's sure death. It'll come in the most damaging way possible, 2 or 3 days before the season starts, for maximum pain.

You excited about Ted Johnson beating out Phifer? Talk about losing a step, TJ's got a bicep pull coming up I would guess.

  8. Wow, this is news to me, and I follow the Pats every day.  Could you please post the audio, video, or transcripts of interviews you must've conducted with New England players that led you to this completely inexplicable conclusion?

    257881

If you don't think that cutting a guy ("no contract tendered") like Troy Brown who was one of the only players in the NFL to go both ways this year and thereby lose an opportunity at an incentive clause won't have a ripple effect in that locker room than you are deluded.

This kind of stuff does affect a team. How else do you explain the 31-0 win the Bills achieved over a superior Pats team in 2003?

Hey I hear Roman Phifer got f'd too, huh?

  9. Here's another case of the cold hard machine known as the New England Patriots. Troy Brown, a player who was the ultimate  team player this past season, doesn't even get tendered a contract. Don't let the door hit you on the a** on the way out Troy - that's cold even by Belicheck standards.

    257220

Belichick is as cold as they come. Brown is just one in a long line of guys who are asked to take the back-loaded contract. Give your all to the team and when your payday finally comes, take a hike, chump. Milloy, Law, Spires, Big Ted Washington, Woody, and on and on.

They had a tight end named Wiggins who caught 10 passes in the Snow Bowl game, dropping any one of which would have meant a loss, no Super Bowl.

He wasn't offered a contract in the offseason. Last year he led the Vikes in catches.

Troy Brown was due to get a $400,000 incentive bonus for 40 catches. Instead

they say "Troy learn to play cornerback and save our asses this season, but sorry no 40 catches for you"

Kraft and Belichick line their pockets while guys like Bruschi go out and nearly kill themselves for team friendly salaries. It's a joke, and there is a lot of animosity in that locker room.

No guaranteed contracts but ask Robert Edwards and Drew Bledsoe what happens when you get hurt on the job for the NE Pats.

  10. Numbers only tell part of the story, intangibles are more important in the big picture.

Not a Drew bash, & I'm not a Kosar fan at all,

but I would rather have him at QB in his prime than Drew in his prime...

BK was just a much more effective QB.

Here's to JP being better than either of them! :D

    257319

You are simply incapable of an objective interpretation of either Bledsoe or Losman.

In addition to the above brilliance, you stated recently that even if Losman's numbers this year were worse than Bledsoe's in 4 major QB categories that Losman would still be the better QB.

People are supposed to take you seriously?

You're a one trick pony Rico, and the trick ain't all that good.

  11. Isn't he older then Flutie?

He also has no ability to run anymore.

He also has no arm at all, he makes Fluties arm look like Payton Manning.

    Other then that?    Let's not.

    256393

It'll certainly short circuit any "quarterback controversy". How bad would Losman have to be

for the fans to chant "Rodney, Rodney, Rodney"?

  12. He called out Buffalo by name and mocked how they're handeling the QB position here. Don't pretend it was anything less than a direct slam.

    255787

There was absolutely no lead-in to the comment.

It could be that some annoying local sports jerk may have asked, " Why aren't we going with the young guy like they are in Buffalo?" No coach wants to be known as a copycat coach, particularly with the ego Chucky has and thus the reply. In my mind it makes it less of a zing at the Bills.
