03/25/2010 - PRO DAY RESULTS: As usual, the scouts came out in droves to check out Virginia Tech Pro Day, with representatives from 25 teams in attendance in Blacksburg, Va., on March 18. And they weren't disappointed, as a couple of big prospects had solid performances. The biggest name of the group was offensive lineman Ed Wang (6-4 7/8, 318), who is looking to become the NFL's first Chinese player. Wang, who also worked out at the NFL Scouting Combine, could find his way into the first round of the draft. He ran the 40 in 5.09 and 5.12, had a 28-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot, 7-inch broad jump, a 4.72-second short shuttle, a 7.94-second three-cone drill and his arms measured in at 33 7/8 inches. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
I like Brandt, and if he says that makes me think it's a good pick.

That is funny!
And by the way, if either have a problem with stamina, we have Levitre!

Agreed. Draft beer is so much better than bottled or can, but it won't improve dog piss like Coors Lite. Start putting REAL beer in those kind of mini-kegs and I'm all over it.
PTR
Depends if it's quantity versus quality. Quantity and it's Miller Lite, quality and it's a nice growler of Pale Ale.
-
That depends if they look like Erin Andrews
She is a cutie

Wow, I am sitting here in Jacksonville, Florida (just visiting) and I have my little WAR ROOM setup in my hotel room on the beach while my family is visiting in-laws and I am so pizzed off right now!!!
This seems like last years draft...Reaches, and positional needs are not being filled !! Clausen, McCoy, Campbell OT, were all out there for the taking along with many others I've heard of ! There are a couple of players available that could've gone late 1st or early 2nd still on the board and we pick players that are 4th or 5th no-namers!!! Crap...I am taking down my war-room, packing my bags, and although I'll watch the rest of the 3rd round today...I am putting my charts, graphs, projections and all my stuff away and I'll watch with one eye while I listen to the Sabres streaming on WGR550.
The Buffalo Bills WAR ROOM gets a Smelly Jockstrap for their drafting today!!! (Trademark of the smelly Jockstrap verbage belongs to Coach Chuck Dickerson)! Do I ever miss the 90's What a lousy organization!! That darn Modrak
still has way too much say in the Bills organization and he needs to go!!
I thought we had a pretty decent draft last year. So if this years is like last year, then great.
Wood, Byrd, Levitre, Nic Harris, Nelson and we'll see him as OLB this year Maybin.
-
How many D-linemen does that make?
Carrington, Marcus Stroud, Kyle Williams, Spencer Johnson, Dwan Edwards, Chris Ellis, John McCargo, Chris Kelsay.
That's not counting Schobel and Maybin who will likely move to OLB.
McCargo? Kelsay?
I would rather turn the page on some of our current defensive line players and move on.
-
Man, Chris Mortensen is the balls. Just tweeted that the Saints take "Donald Brown".
Yep, he certainly is a set of them
-
hell if shape ups are cool with joe montana...then they are cool with me
Find it interesting he stays away from NFL stuff, but endorses steak rub and sneakers.
-
Run on DEs...
And then some..
-
Nice of Rod Woodson to wear his Dickies workin' gear
-
Were you trying to date him?
So now we have the same ol' QBs as before. So much for rebuilding.
Bills may draft QB. Don't be surprised if it's 5th round, or late 4th with us trading back in.
I hate to burst the bubble, but I fully expect Trent to get another shot this year, along with
Brohm getting a good look.
-
Some of you are a piece of work...
2nd round? 3rd round? You have no idea when he would have been taken. If the Bills took him in RD2 - who says 1 other team didn't also think highly of him?
It doesn't matter where you pick your guys as long as you get them. Clearly, they didn't want to risk losing him.
Obviously the Bills liked him enough to take him. But the Bills recent draft history speaks for itself.
-
Mayock rated him 3rd round, FWIW. But likes the pick.
-
Bulldog is a blathering idiot. His voice is the most annoying thing on the radio, it sound as if he needs to hock out some mucus or something.
He is a moron who should never be allowed anywhere near a radio microphone.
For the most part I can't stand him any longer. Although, when schopp was on vacation recently,
he was actually able to put together a coherent thought of his own. Usually he is just schopp's
yes man.

Do you Spiller-loving idiots not understand that you can't win in today's NFL without a top quarterback?
You can have the best running back in the NFL, but without a good QB you CAN'T EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.
Stop drinking the kool-aid and telling yourself that every move they Bills make is correct.
Look at Chris Johnson in Tenesee, or Adrian Peterson in Minnesota two years ago with Tarvares - even the best RBs in the league can't bring some junk team with no QB to the playoffs.
This pick just proves that the regime is just more of the same. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
Be honest, if someone asked you a week ago to list the Bills top need positions, you would NOT have said RB. If you were asked what positions they need the LEAST help at, RB would be near the top of the list.
Terrible pick by a terrible organization that is bound to be a cellar dweller until Ralph finally dies and the team is moved to another city.
I'm not a Spiller loving idiot, as you so eloquently stated. But if he's a game breaker, and can open up the offense for
some other guys, great pick. Lynch is not a good full time back, can't hit the hole to save his life and runs too choppy. Jackson is a good back who made more out of what the o-line gave him last year, and is older. That's why Spiller should do well, he's shiftier and faster than Jackson so hopefully can make up for our o-line. Incidentally, I believe our o-line should be a bit better this year anyway.
-
Nice punt return. But he never would have cut the corner with guys with NFL speed
after him.
-
Does anyone actually believe that Cleveland is going after another ND QB after the Brady Quinn debacle? If Buffalo is in fact looking to move ahead of Cleveland then it must be for McCoy.
If the Bills are going after QB, I believe it is McCoy. What I see is unless they get value, I know it's a
highly overrated term, they stay put and go for best available. Now, unless they give a pick from next
year, or package that with Lynch, I just don't see them dropping picks from this year to move up.
For some reason Clausen seems to have some stink on him. Even though he played in a pro-style
offense and should be the one out of the top 4 QB's who should have the least amount of trouble starting.
Don't know what it is, but he may fall even further. Then again, with all the disinformation out there,
we may give up the house for him.
-
Nobody in the way for Vikes and a QB.
It's now or never.
-
if Clausen isnt picked tonight that first pick in the second round will become even more valuable tomorrow night
Would definitely cost more than normal. Maybe even more than these late 1st round trades.
-
OK FOLKS this is it. If we're going to get Jimmy C, this is it. Trade with the Jets or risk Loosing Clausen to the Vikes! ! !
Vikes will take Clausen.
I'm cool with McCoy.
-
No trading for the next 4 picks, especially for QB. Pats, Phins, Jets and Vikes (assuming they
want QB).
-
And you can't hate the Bills for taking the pick within 5 seconds of the Raiders.
This is a great pick.
If we didn't need a tackle or possibly a QB.
-
Tuco. Haven't heard them, so no reviews in this space.
Just a reminder -- believe WECK goes live at 7 tonight. Also, Nick_BCFC is live-blogging at http://nickmendola.blogspot.com/2010/04/20...-live-blog.html if anyone's interested.
Thanks.
I'm enjoying listening to them. Forgot how much I like Riter Radio.
-
Not really. There's never a guarantee that player will actually be the pick. That happened to Brady Quinn a few times the year he was drafted, if memory serves.
And like everyone else, the only thing that bothered me about last year was the fact that they picked Maybin. Yikes.
How about the McGahee staged call from Rosenhaus? That was lame.
QB in round 6?

No. I really believe they get an undrafted FA and go with the 3 guys they have. Again, I can't get past
the fact Thigpen and Fiedler had their best years under Gailey. I hated how Edwards has been playing as
of late, but he did have a pretty year recently. Not saying I want him, but just sayin. I do believe the Bills
will give Brohm every chance over Trent and Fitz, hopefully rightfully so.
