I would offer that Buffalo is even LESS optimal to host the draft then they are a Super Bowl.  Based on the number of attendees just in Detroit this year - that's way more people than would be in town for the Super Bowl, so where are they all going to stay?

According to this site, Buffalo/Erie County has 10,000 rooms.  Add what you have in Niagara County/Falls area and it probably tops out at no more than 13,000?  Handful of Air BnB’s?  Average 2 people a room and that houses maybe 26K to under 30K?  Surely hotel rooms in Canada would be useful and a few thousand more? Buffalo would absolutely draw a ton of local folk.  Not sure I see how Buffalo could handle the amount that attended in Detroit this past year.

That doesn’t include restaurants and other distractions.

    Visit Buffalo Niagara

  2. Love how fluid Coleman looks.  Albeit, against air.  Nice cuts, smooth.  I especially love how he catches the ball - looks it in, arms up when the ball arrives and not too early, good hands.

Interesting how both 13 and 14 were reissued quickly.  No reason not to of course.

  3. - merging onto a highway and the person in the right lane won’t let you on. Even though the middle lane is empty, they won’t move over and allow a speedy entrance.

    - people who have to pull out in front of you/cut you off on a regular road when your going the speed limit, then they slow down to a crawl.  Especially worse when there is not a car behind you and they could have pulled out after you.

    - we have a few intersections near me that go down to one lane right after the light.  Why must people line up in the merging lane and assume they have the right of way? No, it’s called a MERGING lane for a reason.

    - people who have to dictate the road to you.  Make sure they are in front of you as long as they can.

    - lastly. Those who hang out in the left lane going the speed limit.  You know you’re going to cause more traffic problems/possible accidents? Just move out of the way and let the rest of us get on their way.

He'll likely be better than the last 4 bums they fired.  Veteran NHL coaches "are available" because they have been fired.

Appert can't be worse than the previous.  Ruff won't re-sign in 2 years so there will be yet another HC change.

    Team needs to be sold.

Who knows what the future holds. I speculated Ruff was not the long term coach here if he had a short contract. 2 year contract is easy to get out of.  If he takes us to the playoffs both years, or sniffs the cup, that oughta change.  If he’s winning, he should stay HC.

Plenty of teams in the pros have succession plans.  Doesn’t mean it has to be followed.

Sous Vide Q is mostly what I'm using sous vide for these days.  Sous vide Q has been an amazing trick for tailgate/camping.  Having a few racks of ribs, a pork shoulder, even a whole brisket already perfectly cooked that only needs to get reheated on a grill for a few minutes is a game changer.

We Sous Vide our wings for game day and then grill them in the lot. Come out super juicy and crispy.  Cooking fresh wings takes too much time and run the risk of being over cooked.

Love this kid. He better be great

Really loved this interview! Was much more relaxed than his intro video after being drafted.  Smart kid, respectful and wants to learn and be great.  I wish this kid all the best!

  7. What everyone else said.  Ripping hot. Thermometer to take the guess work out. Pull 8-10 degrees below desired doneness and let rest.

I will add that a carbon steel pan is fantastic for cooking steak stovetop. Cooks like cast iron, but easier to care for.  Heat distribution is fantastic!

I use my carbon steel pan for homemade pizza. Amazing crust!

  8. Better coverage backup for Bernard? When he went down last year, who was it Dorian Williams and Dodson who ended up starting? Didn’t do a horrible job, but noticeable difference when Bernard was out.

Had a lot of middle of the field plays from the start of last season that Milano would have been better at stopping.  If we can get Jones back to form in this defense, or somewhere near it, good move.

    What talent have they lost?

White has not contributed for a long time

Hyde and Poyer both lost a few steps

Diggs supposedly quit and is not the player he used to be

Davis can’t catch and disappears all the time

    McG upgrades an aging Morse

The handful of ST guys like Neal, Mata, etc can be replaced.

I’d like to see Hyde back just former leadership in the defensive backfield.  Other than that, got a little younger and will have much more cap space next season.

Dolphins - yes. Jets - no if Rodgers stays healthy. That is a big "IF".

I don’t think Saleh is that good a head coach. Not too concerned about the jets.

    Quick Q:

Tyreek Hill or Kalil Shakir, also saying reading defenses is Josh's strong suit...is a take

I’ll take whatever receiver is best for the team. The guy that has the best chemistry with the QB. The guy with the most football smarts.  A guy who fits the offense, instead of someone you feel the need to force feed the ball.

Hill vs Shakir? You’re really saying you’d rather have speed and the catches he’s accumulated, vs an unproven guy.  My question back to you is, didn’t the Chiefs win the last 2 Super Bowls after jettisoning Hill?  Could care less  Hill caught 238 balls for 3,509 yard last two seasons.

Josh can read defenses is not a take. Plenty of guys he’s gone against tout that as one of his strengths. Not my take as much as NFL defenders who’ve played against him.  Guy like him can’t be as successful as he is without the ability to read defenses.

  11. I don’t believe there will be any big additions to the roster this year.  If any, it will be low money guys. I could see Shaq back, along with Hyde.  Other than that, Beane knows there are some limitations to our roster, but he is serious about the cap this year and will hit the field with guys he has on the current roster.

Next year will be different with this years cap purge.  But expect us not to spend like drunken sailors to keep the cap under control. For years to come.

  12. Speed is great, doesn’t win games.

Ball control. RB’s who can get that 1-2 yards to keep the drive moving so the QB doesn’t get smoked. WR’s who actually CATCH the ball.  O-line giving the QB time to set up and can block for the runner. Those are just a few things that help teams win.

Speed wins? No, Dolphins can attest to that. You need smart players who play fast.  Guys who can get open are more important than speed.  Kincaid, Shakir showed they can do that last year.  Need more of it. Josh needs to throw guys open, anticipate a little better. Having a guy who can win the contested ball is good, but that shouldn’t be how to play every down.  Design plays to get the guy open.  KC does a good job of that, kept a lot of drives going last year against us.

Trade Josh?? His strengths are mobility, ability to read defenses, escape under pressure, strong arm for short and intermediate passes, team leader.  The long ball offense has long ago died in the NFL, just ask the Raiders.

On the field there is no such thing as addition by subtraction. As someone that was happy to trade Diggs and let Davis walk, the team on the field unquestionably became WORSE the moment that they were off the roster. Just because moving on from a player is the right decision, doesn't mean you can leave a blank space next to their position on the roster and expect to improve. That doesn't make any sense at all. As of right now we have a blank space next to outside WR #2. That is undeniable.

Why?? He was a UDFA prospect that we took after trading down in the 5th round because our draftable player board was completely wiped out. I will absolutely forget him. He isn't somebody that enters into the conversation at all. He's somebody that if he makes any kind of real impact on the team it will be a huge shock and a wonderful bit of fortune. You might as well mention Bryan Thompson, Tyrell Shavers, etc. What are we doing here?

Force feeding two guys the ball, one being a major diva, did not help this team.  Them being gone helps the guys here get better. Shakir should only get better.  Kincaid will only get better.  Cook will see more balls.  Coleman is better than people are giving him credit for.  Would adding another guy have helped?  Who knows.  Should we have tried?  Ultimately, Beane liked his own guys versus who was available.

Shorter was projected 5th round by many.  He was having a decent camp and preseason before being injured.  Big guy/fast. Expect him to get a chance to be productive this year.

1-32 where to you rank the Bills WRs? I’m not talking about the TEs or RBs. Where do you think that they are in terms of WR rooms? Please list all of the teams that you think are worse than them.

Rank how?  Do a WR for WR rating?

    Naw.

Plenty of good WR rooms in the NFL.  Not all of them do well.  Need the right QB making the right reads.  Offensive coordinator calling the best plays.  Offensive line allowing for plays to develop.  Way more than to a successful offense than just having the best receivers.  Oh, and having one of the top 3 QB’s in the league helps.

Have to ask? What do you rank the chiefs WR room?  Probably pretty low.  Won the Super Bowl.
