  1. Yes, he still stinks

    @RapSheet

Speaks volumes RT @jwyattsports: QB Jake Locker's passer rating in his four starts: 99.0. Ryan Fitzpatrick's passer rating this season: 61.2

I rather enjoyed (in a morbid kind of way) watching Fitz yesterday. Fitz throws over the leaping WR's head - boom, an INT.

Later, he did one of those patented empty hand throws. Hey at least that one can't be intercepted!

He still wears that guilty hangdog expression after he screws up.

Nice man, great guy, but not a good QB.

  2. Here is an interesting article on ex-WR Brandon Smith

Packers' Brandon Smith impresses with switch from WR to DB

    http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/packers-brandon-smith-impresses-with-switch-from-wr-to-db-b9970733z1-218781181.html

"Tall at 6 feet 1 inches. Muscular at 204 pounds. Consistently has run 40 yards between 4.37 to 4.41 seconds. Owns a 40-inch vertical jump."

Compared to other Green Bay CB candidates:

"What Smith has that nobody else does is height and very long (32 5/8-inch) arms."

Last night, they talked about Cromartie's long arms as he wrapped up Julio Jones.

Smith has a lot of great physical qualities. I hope the Bills can hone his skills, and make good use of him. The DB coaches seem to have done very well with our existing DBs.

  3. There is a great comment in there, must be referring to Fred spinning the ball after his TD:

1st poster: I didn't think you could celebrate like that anymore?

2nd poster: He should have been able to celebrate by driving a tractor trailer on to the field. I mean that's how big the hole was, after all.

Funny stuff. Such whining after winning the Super Bowl.

  4. So I had a root canal today; it started about 4:30 and took until about 5:45.

On the way home I was thinking about it and realized that Monday from 4:30 - 5:30 was actually less miserable for me than was Sunday from 4:30 - 5:30.

Yes, watching the Bills is literally worse than having a guy file out live nerves from under your tooth. :death:

My last root canal was not too horrible (contrary to the root canal's reputation).

Watching the Bills yesterday was quite painful at times.

Maybe we need a rubber dam to fit around the TV screen. It only lets good Bills plays through the dam.

  5. This dude is trouBle.

    Not a fair assessment, IMO.

The kid passed all his drug tests at Tenn Tech, seemed in interviews to have his head on straight. So why act like he is still a trouble maker?

Not smart enough to absorb a complex playbook? Maybe so.

Not football smart enough to hustle after a fumble? Unfortunately.

Still a trouble maker? I don't see how you justify that criticism.

I wish the kid well in his attempt at an NFL career.

  6. I think the Bills (either Marrone, Whaley, or the WR coach) went to Da'Rick and told him he isn't ready, but if he clears waivers and wants to come back to learn how to be a pro they will sign him to the PS. Those guys get to practice with the team all year.

I have no basis for this; just my gut.

I hope you are correct. I was a big Da'Rick fan, but he just did not show much in the games. He is physically gifted, no doubt, but the complexities of an NFL offense must be tough to grasp for some folks.

His lack of hustle on that fumble is a bad sign, like a lack of football instincts.

As the PS went on, I thought DeMarco Sampson was doing well.

I would not be surprised to see Sampson signed to the PS, but not Rogers. I would prefer both make the practice squad, but time will tell.

  7. I called a second time today. Got through to a retention person, apparently.

He gave me the basic Sunday Ticket for free this year, for a 12-month commitment to stay with DTV.

Cool. I'm a happy (and retained) customer. My wife is happy.

I've been with DTV for 16 yrs or so, just so I can see the Bills every week.

I don't like haggling, but it is worthwhile, I must say.

    It's a pre-season ritual now, I suppose.

  8. Update, I went the petulant child route and told them I was done, agreed to the 120 early cancel fee and they shipped the box to return the equipment. I called one last time and said that the box was soaked and need a new one, I said that while looking up the customer service number, "I notice you offer free NFL ticket for new customers". The woman said yes they do and said that offer is available to me as well. I got 120 credit back from the disconnect, free hbo, cinemax and showtime for 3 months and upgraded NFL (redzone etc) for free. 29.99 a month, 1 year contract.

Is that 29.99 a month (for 6 months) for Sunday Ticket? Or is that the full package price?

They offered me 29.99 a month (for 6 months) for Sunday Ticket, but I did not like the offer, so I did not make the change.

I don't want to go the full "cancel service" route, but I do want some better deal. Don't care about red Zone.
