  10. gearing up for a long night i hope!!!
  11. Kaine projected to win, via CBS but Stewart is a really tough candidate to vote for no matter your party affiliation. They have Brat ahead at this moment as well..much bigger tell i think. Now they saying Sapnberger ahead by less than 1%..oh boy this is gunna be a long night
  12. I must confess, I always read the title of this forum as Politics, Prose, Pundits. Politics and Prose is a great bookstore in the District, so it is prolly stuck in my brain. Having said that, and understanding this may not be the right place, has anyone read any books by Elaine Pagels? This review has me intrigued and most likely buying the book. https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/books/after-her-son-and-husband-died-elaine-pagels-wondered-why-religion-survives/2018/11/06/83e2fb24-e1da-11e8-8f5f-a55347f48762_story.html?utm_term=.37338bacc4c8 Be interesting to get anyone's opinion if they have read any of her other books. I do not read much "religious" books per se, but have enjoyed many Thomas Merton books as well as many books on more Eastern religions back in da day. Please do not bash the WAPO and their politics, truly am looking to hear what yall think about her previous books. TY
  13. well, if the Dems lose I am moving to Canada..and I mean it this time!!!!! Local TV showing shots at polling places saying turnout higher than 16 by far
  14. i must say 84 and 85 i was in college, traveling every weekend for sports, and saw very few games. No sports bars back then anyway.. but I did see the win over the Cowboys in a hospital waiting room ...very funny story, tell ya we get a few beers!
  15. I don't know the rules here..but if the guy is registered to vote and shows iD..dont they have to let him vote? I mean I don't want election volunteers denying people voting rights . What am I missing?
  16. They are good for extra specials and cheaper beer lots of places today..heading to get a few with the wife now! Lordy, is she smoking! In case you don't know( but I am sure I have brought it up 1000X), her place about a block and half away from ours in DC. I always run by her house in my short shorts hoping the advertisement pays off and she invites me in! BTW, I just voted about 3:40..in and out in less than 3 minutes. I have no idea why, but we have 4 polling places within a mile of each other..makes no sense. I vote in a church, and directly across the street is an elementary school that is also a polling place..weird. Wife was handing out Spanberger stuff at another polling place today that skewed, let's say, a little older. Said the handicapped spaces were always filled with a line wiating to take the spots. She was laughing at how all the old folks were making fun of her supporting the Dems..almost all good natured..said when you get older you will wise up! Hah, we both in our mid 50'S!!!
  17. and no @Augie and @Seasons1992 , not close to my favorite place!!!
  18. Interesting on the flat tax, I did not know any state did that. How has it worked? I have always been intrigued by a national flat tax
