  1. You know, at the end sports are not serious. What is fun in sports is not the titles won and the rings on your fingers... what is fun is the emotions, the memories... In my heart the No Goal playoffs, Superbowl XXV, the French rugby final of '93 (my hometown team, no title since 1954, was robbed by the ref), the Red Sox collapse of 03 are just as important as the Red Sox win of 2004 or the Houston Game i had the luck to witness live at the Ralph... Glorious, unfair or unlucky losses can become great memories and i dare to say as great as the big wins. I had fun tonight. And when my wife waked up at 6 AM to go to work and saw me standing and jumping in front of the TV, she did not roll her eyes or hit her head on the wall, she just smiled because she could see i was having fun like a kid!
  2. it's a Bill Clinton's quote isn't it?!!
  3. So OK, second year in a row that i pass a sleepless night watching the Bills lose a game they should have won easily. (Blame whoever you want, Edwards, Lindell... Luck has been the worst player for the Bills last night like it was last year vs the 'Boys)... but you know what? Losses or not, lucky or not, i've passed two incredible nights watching those games. Two emotional, crazy, amazing, tragic games that prove so well why football is the best sport played on Earth. I can't wait for the next Bills game i'll be able to watch on TV here... Thanks Bills! Thanks football!
  4. What is funny is that one of Mc Cain best score is in Venezuela!
  5. Here in France what could be compared with the National Guard in the US , the "CRS" Compagnies Republicaines de Sécurité are not linked to the military. They are controled by the national police headquarters. Don't know what's the problem... at the end it's public money and public control, military or not...
  6. According to polls i've seen on yahoo.com, the State of New York should be the "bluest" of them all with about 62% of the vote going to Obama. (Utah being the "redest" with about the same proportion of vote for Mc Cain)... Was NYS the "bluest" in the last presidential elections too?!
  7. good choice. She's got something in her eyes... i don't know like she's having fun!

  10. Does the MAC have a championship game with the two division winners? If so, Where does it take place?
  11. At 4-4, 2-2 in the MAC they 'll need to win at least 3 of the last 4 to win the MAC East division... And they'll need those 3W to get a bowl invitation too i think...

  15. Have they checked the voting machines this time? Those frauds stuff are not very good for the USA PRs IMO... Some guys don't buy that "greatest democracy on Earth " thing anymore (and since the Florida fiasco 8 years ago) ... That could be a good idea to have clearer results this time...
  16. i need an explanation here... I have no clue what ACORN is...
  17. With posters here from the 50 states and the 5 continents i don't think a thread about the city elections of East Aurora 'd have much success anyway... And to anwser to your question: I vote each time i have the opportunity to...
  18. It's something that is really surprising for an european visting the US during a campaign: All those signs on cars, lawns.... Political opinions are things we don't share as much as you do in America... We keep things more private in Europe... I'm not sure anyway i want to know who my neighbors are voting for...
  19. Makes me think about a study i saw a couple of years ago that basically told that homos were the best citizens a society can dream of: Big consumers, going for quality over quantity. High revenue Low health costs (an very healthy group that either die young or die very old) Very low social costs (no kids, very few needing welfare...) Low crime rate
