  1. I think they'll want to see what they may have in Brohm. Fitz is running things now because he's earned it, Brohm isn't ready yet, and they are evaluating their wr's. It's a given that Trent wasn't going to put the ball into their hands much. I look at this year as full season audition for the future for these guys. They aren't going anywhere playoffs wise, so if they are going to be a part of the "new improved" Bills Nix et al. are building, this is their chance to show it.

  2. Bad idea. Teams have tried this in the past and it never worked. Denver is one that comes to mind (during the time Elway was hurt, Dan Reeves decided to rotate Tommy Maddox and someone else). Your line doesn't get in a rhythm and the receivers and whatever QB is in there can be out of sync. It's not like this is baseball, where you can platoon players and eventually stick with a hot hand.

Besides, don't the rules say that the 3rd QB can only play if the first two are injured?

Not sure if they have to be injured, but I believe if you put in the 3rd QB, the other two are ineligible to return.

  3. Actually, our current ST coach, Bruce Dehaven, was fired for the Music City Disaster. Ronnie Jones was his replacement. He had never coached ST before then and was brutally awful. You did get the part right about Wade being fired because he refused to dump Jones. Though, you might consider getting your facts completely right before bashing somebody for not having their facts right.

You're both wrong. Wade was fired because he didn't wear headphones!

  4. When I was a kid in the 70's my dad was a Cheektowaga cop. He was on the detail that was tasked with escorting the visiting teams from the Sheraton on Walden to the stadium on game day and then from the stadium to the airport. For that, the two cops used were given tickets to the game and a few bucks (cash usually). My dad used to use the money they gave him to buy me a ticket to the game (about half the time the visiting teams would just comp him the ticket.) As a result, I got to the games well before anyone else, even before the Bills players typically arrived.

Sooooo, I we would hang out at the players entrance as they arrived and collect autographs. I have many of the greats of that era, including OJ, Fergie, Reggie MacKenzie, etc. I also met a number of opposing players of that era. The two that stand out are Ken Stabler and Joe Namath, both of whose autographs I have.

Namath was great! He rode in his own limo, and my dad asked him for an autograph for me (I was far too starstruck to say anything) he said "Sure" to my dad and looked down at me with a great big smile, and grabbed the Bills logo on my coat and said "Where did you get that jacket kid?" Then he took me into his limo and we sat and talked about football, school, and such. He gave me his autograph and sent me on my way. Classy guy!

  5. Seems to me that going into the 4th tied or ahead that many times and winding up doing as poorly as they did points to conditioning (physical AND mental) as much as anything. Maybe the new regime will toughen these guys up. From what has been reported, things look to be going in that direction.

If nothing else, considering the similarity in roster from last year to this year, we'll get a better indication of how much coaching plays a role in a team's success!

  6. OK I am confused. The Bills are KINGS - KINGS - of the 3rd down draw play. KKIINNGGSS.

When I heard that in the video I yelled F*UCK, here we go again with more F*CKING draws!!!!

once more - KKKIIINNNGGGSSS of the draw play.

every time they had 2 backs (sometimes is was a RB and a TE) it was a draw play.

why are you excited about more draw plays?

The difference here is apparently it would have worked.

  7. Normally I agree with much of what you say....but to sign a fat, lazy, and underperforming quarterback to make us "relevant again" is a very irrational thought process. Those are the kind of roster moves that keep teams in the dungeon for many more years. Flutie and JR are no wheres near the same in many ways. I dont give a hoot what a madden game says. What do you want nix to do, sign players just to appease someone?

    Now THIS is funny!!

  8. Warren Moon and Jeff Garcia were undrafted.

Going way back in the day Roger Staubach was drafted in the 10th round.

Staubach was a Naval Academy student, and IIRC he had to serve some time (4 yrs I think) in the service after graduation before he could play in the NFL. No doubt that was what brought him down so low in the draft.
