Jauron radio interview Tues. evening
BuffOrange replied to stevewin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with this. This part makes no sense at all. Teams stack 8 on the line vs. the Bills all the time. They don't do it because they "fear" the Bills running game. They do it because it makes the Bill offense zero dimensional - it's easier to shut down the run and they know the QB can't make them pay by making any plays ever. Having room in the secondary to throw hasn't been the problem with our passing game - pass protection and QB play have been. -
Jauron radio interview Tues. evening

Sounds like Andy Reid. -
I agree with all this. I hope he plays every game next year and I hope he does well but I just don't see it. Yes he's young and yes he has a lousy supporting cast -- how does that make him different than Todd Collins and RJ after their first 8 games? Those guys had Antowain Smith, Derrick Holmes and a washed up Thurman Thomas to hand the ball off to, and an OL that sucked just the same. I'm not saying JP can't or won't be better than these guys, but I can't believe how he gets a free pass on EVERYTHING, and it's hard to believe he gets the benefit of the doubt having been drafted by a GM whom everybody agrees sucked at drafting players & finding QB's.

ex- Jet DC Donnie Henderson- Possible Hire

They're the team that hired an OC who never called plays as their HC, right? -
ex- Jet DC Donnie Henderson- Possible Hire
BuffOrange replied to Generation ME's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, they were a FG away from the AFC championship last year and defense was the strength of the team. And that was without Law or a healthy Abraham if I recall. Basically they had Ellis, Vilma, and a bunch of no names in the secondary and they were pretty good. -

Huh? They had basically the same players w/ the Jets and Henderson did a much better job with them. -
The only one I can't stand is the Jimmy Johnson narration. Why don't they have him narrate the 23-3 asskicking we gave his Dolphins in 1999.

Some OC Names I'd Like to See Considered
BuffOrange replied to JDG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There doesn't appear to be a ton to chose from. Based on what's available, I would be in favor of jumping on both Jets coordinators if we can't get Bates for DC. -
I don't feel all that bad about jauron now
BuffOrange replied to Corp000085's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wish I could agree with this. It's a very marginal difference either way. -
Sadly I feel you are correct. I'd rather bring in Walt Corey and Joe Pendry.

This Team Cannot Compete in Today's NFL

I didn't want Saunders either, but did you just cite a Jason "Race Card" Whitlock article, and do it seriously with a straight face? -
Pittsburgh favored by 3.5 points
BuffOrange replied to smokinandjokin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have the teams switch divisions and schedules. I don't think it's a bit much at all. The Steelers were favored on the road vs. the AFC's #3 seed; what did you expect? -
Pittsburgh favored by 3.5 points
BuffOrange replied to smokinandjokin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well stated. Another thing to consider is the Seahawks very weak division, and the fact that not only did they host their 2 playoff games, but they played a beat up Redskin team that was playing their 3rd straight road game, and the Panthers who were playing their 4th straight road game. Granted, the Steelers will also be playing their 4th straight away from home, but they get a week to rest before the big game, and 90% of Detroit will be pro-Pitt if that matters. -

I agree on both. -
Jauron - players liked playing for him
BuffOrange replied to Dennis in NC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apples & oranges. Ask Packers players and Bears fans what they think. -
Perfect description of Philly. I hate the Steelers too. It dawned on me mid-week "1 of these 4 teams is actually going to win the SB? Damnit, it just might be Pitt since they are the best team". Fortunately, it's impossible to win 3 straight road games". Damnit. Hopefully Carolina wins this other game. Seattle would get massacred vs. Pittsburgh.

with Sb Win Holmgren will surpass Parcells
BuffOrange replied to trolls_r_us's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You've got to be kidding me. If Seattle wins it all this year we'll re-evaluate. As of right now, he's been in Seattle for 7 years and won 1 playoff game, and 2 of his losses were at home against 2 of the worst playoff teams ever - the '99 Dolphins and '04 Rams. And they've played in a joke of a division for these last few years. Plus, his Packers lost as 2 TD favorites vs. Denver. Parcells has taken over 4 bad franchises and made them all winners. If any of the remaining coaches has a chance to cement his legacy this year among the greats it is Shannahan. -
What if Mike Sherman is the Next George Seifert?
BuffOrange replied to JDG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah but but, but, Bill Bellicheck....... -
Georgetown showed up to play today...

For sure - even Duke Vitale hasn't tried to make a case for ACC as the best conference this year. -
From Scott Linehan to Meathead???
BuffOrange replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get it: Why am I gullible? What did I ever buy? See Kelly Fair and Balanced Dog's thread. Also, remind me how much worse Miami's offense is a year from now. -

No. Read much? I must've missed this "calling out" - please elaborate. The quote function works better when you don't revise the part of a person's post you intentionally deleted Hey cheers - a non semantical nonsense and/or Bledsoe post....what happened to Fez? -

BuffOrange replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who cares about a WR's stats? Why is barely avoiding a sweep of the Bills & Jets at home or beating the Pats' 3rd string noteworthy? Which 'experts' would these be -- Joe Theismann? Yawn. I read a personnel director in SI say that Linnehan's offense in Minnesota really didn't make sense and most of the success was because of Culpepper. I know you're going to point to Culpepper's bad stretch of 5 games and say that's proof that Linnehan is good, but of course that's ridiculous given the small sample size -- we'll see how the Vikings do next year -- I bet Dante is fine. Oh and remember the Randy Moss fake reverse pass that was picked off in the endzone with the game on the line last year -- guess who called that play which was ripped to death by many of the same 'experts'? I really don't care if Miami fans agree with me or not. I hope they're right and I'm wrong. The fact is the 'bad playcalling that is commonplace w/ Mularkey' is something you THINK is more commonplace with him than everybody else because you never watched the Vikings or Dolphins play every week. -
FakeFat - you are absolutely correct. I do not understand why this is such a difficult concept to grasp. Now we're bringing in Dom Capers because he has experience? Why not just bring in Rich Kotite while we're at it.
-
This is correct.

BuffOrange replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am sorry but this is largely crap. I promise you if you were a Miami fan you'd be bitching about Linehan putting the ball in the hands of Gus Forrotte vs. Atlanta in the redzone when Ronnie Brown was running so well. You'd also rip him for calling 2 fade patterns in a row inside the 10 vs. NE with a chance to win that game. But yeah, it's always fun to think our ex-coaches are Rich Kotite and our rivals ex-coaches were Lombardi.
