If it makes you feel any better, freaking Philadelphia only had one up until a couple months ago. Thank God cause the old one sucked donkey balls.

To all of the brilliant minds out there
BuffOrange replied to SoCal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never understood the "coaching salary cheapness" idea myself. Tens of millions of $ is paid every year to the players; what's an extra million for a top-notch coach? Doesn't take a financial expert to predict that $ can easily be made back and then some by winning. And besides, who else was available this year? It's not like the Daniel Snyder & Jerry Jones had this huge bidding war over Mike Sherman. -
S&R, I didn't get to hear the show today but I doubt your paraphrasing is very accurate. They mostly had good things to say about JP after the first 4 games. Lately they've been more critical, and rightfully so.

League 1, start RB: A) Rudi Johnson vs. Carolina B) Kevin Jones @NYJ C) Fred Taylor @Houston I planned on starting Rudi every week, but may reconsider. The Panthers run D is generally good but still unpredictable. Even last year when they were really good they let Cadillac & Julius Jones run on them in their house. But still, it's hard to see a big game from Rudi. Palmer is my QB too in this league fwiw. The Jets run D obviously stinks, but the Lions are generally such a terrible road team that I can see them falling behind 14-0 in the 1st Qtr, so I dunno... Taylor I don't think hits paydirt enough to be a serious consideration. Also, how about Lee Evans vs. Randy Moss? I know it's fashionable to bash Moss, but he has 2 TD's in 3 weeks and ~85 yards vs. a great Denver defense last week. It's a rare opportunity for the Raiders to win a game IMO, as the Cardinals defensive performance last week I think was a fluke. League 2, Tatum Bell @Cleveland is a no-brainer: How about Jordan or McGahee as my 2nd back?

The difference between all these guys is so negligable that I don't understand why you'd waste a roster spot picking up one of them unless you have a totally useless scrub on your bench already.

Stay Patient, Stay Rational, Stay the Course
BuffOrange replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is amusing how different sorts of people are viewed as "the rational group" after every week depending on the most recent game. After week 2, anyone who had predicted something in the 5-11 range was a doom&gloom pessimist non-fan idiot who refused to acknowledge the apparant upgrades at QB, OL, defensive speed, and most importantly - coaching. Anybody who didn't have the Bills in their top 12 power rankings is a moron. After week 6, anybody who thought of 8-8 as even a possibility at any point is a hopeless dreamer who was too dumb to realize both sides of the line still suck and the QB is still learning. I myself was in the preseason 5-11 camp, but it doesn't stop me from getting pissed off about losing during the season because that's what diehards do. Maybe that's hypocritical, whatever, I don't care, I think it's pretty natural. Frustration just boils over after a while. A lot of the problems the organization has brought on itself, but also - the bad luck is just mind-boggling. During the Wade Phillips era, 11-5 was good for a road wildcard game against a 13-3 team and we were playing in the best division in the league and getting screwed by the refs every other week. Two years later, NE has a first round bye w/ the same record and wins a SB via a cheap call against a California team in the snow thanks to replay, which was re-instated largely because they were given a game via lack of replay three years earlier, which cost the Bills a home playoff game. Now we're in a lousy division and can't capitalize because we suck and have sucked 7 years. It just sucks - with our luck the Jets & Dolphins will be powerhouses by the time we turn this thing around. -

They were two separate plays. Brady lost his helmet but not the ball. -

Pats WR (Patten I think?) catches the ball in bounds in OT, fumbles in bounds, gets knocked out, Bills recover in bounds, Bills ball. After further review, it's Pats ball because the ball was touching Patten's leg while his helmet was touching out of bounds, so the play was supposedly dead. Antoine Smith ran 50 yards on the next play to set up a FG. Just another retarded call not made in the spirit of the rule. Walking out of the stadium I was pissed, but a part of me thought: "better draft pick and at least Miami isn't going to win the division". If only I had known it would springboard the tuck rule, and the most undeserving champion in sports history. -

It was 2001 - the infamous "helmet out of bounds" OT game. -
I like these rankings too. I'm not so sure Florida isn't the 3rd best team in the country right now - they were kinda jobbed @Auburn (an "opposite tuck rule" where a clear incompletion was ruled a fumble) and it's absurd to put them behind Tennessee when they beat 'em at their place.

Brawl in Miami/FIU game...benches clear

All, Possibly L. Thomas wanted to be remembered for something other than this. -
Yep, I thought we rid of this after the RJ-DF fiasco, but apparantly there's no escaping it.

Let me guess: your baseball team is the Royals?

Patriots Interested In Randy Moss

At least you don't find yourself asking yourself stuff like: "I wonder when Aaron Brooks is coming back? Maybe that will open things up for Jordan/Moss". I mean, is there ANY chance your season isn't over when you wonder that and are serious about it? Never mind don't answer that.

Thank god for the Bears pulling that victory out

Yeah, there is no justice in suicide pools for punishing stupidity. Damn you Greg Williams. -
A slight cherrypick if you're going to bring up a drive in the 3rd Qtr vs. the Saints. The Carolina game I thought he showed some decent poise converting a couple 4th downs; the int was a point where he had to take a risk, so I don't really consider that a choke. The NE & Detroit games we punted with 6 and 4 minutes left and our D couldn't get the ball back. The Falcons & Jet games I agree were chokejobs. Just dreadful series' after 2nd life with an improbable muffed punt and onside kick respectively. I thought Schopp brought up a good point that his best drives were vs. the Jets & Lions in the 4th Qtr down 2 scores. Hopefully he'll engineer a gamewinner sometime this year.

Wow, that P.O.S. Billick gave Fassel the axe today
BuffOrange replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Billick is a jerk too, but my guess is that his hand was forced on this one...him & Fassel are/were supposedly good friends. -

That 3rd down throw was pretty sick....unblocked blitzer. -
3rd that. "I'm a better fan than you" OMFG STFU....who posts here after 6 years of losing w/out being a fan? You'd have to have a slower reaction time than Jim Drunkenmiller to be a "bandwagon" fan and still root for the Bills.
