  1. I'll care more than ever before, now that the Sabres will actually have a real chance to compete.
  2. TD made his best offer, PW and his agent didn't like it, so negotiations stopped and PW went elsewhere for more money. That's what it boiled down to.
  3. Saw it yesterday afternoon with the wife at a matinee. Worth the $12 we spent, for the SFX alone. I liked it as an update to the original story, but was hoping that they would have redone the story instead, because with our understanding of things now, Wells' story while visionary at the time, doesn't hold-up.
  4. She should stick to trying to dominate/change the women's game. Then when she's reach Annika's level or beyond, she can should start trying to play with the big boys. But it appears the die has been cast.
  5. If it's not Scottish, it's CRAP!
  6. So WHO is the #1 WR for the Vikes now? Burleson? The rookie? Compared to Moss these past 7 years? Thems some big shoes to fill.
  7. Sorry but Moulds won't get even get close to a $6M signing bonus if he gets cut and signs with another team. He's not the same WR he once was and is on the wrong side of 30.
  8. Since he signed his contract extension back in 2001, Eric has been one of the highest-paid WR's in the NFL. But he hasn't produced at that level, even though his presence opens things up for Evans. So I think he'll take a paycut.
  9. We'll see. But Rodgers doesn't impress me in any area. He doesn't have JP's athleticism or arm, and he's REALLY cocky.
  10. It's pretty good, considering the Bills had a rookie coach, a new offensive coaching staff, and a new ST's coach, even though most of them were MAJOR upgrades over their predecessors.
  11. I think it depends on if the DA wants to pursue it or not. There were 4 eyewitnesses who saw what happened, and in that case it goes from a "he said, she said" to a "we saw" situation. But the eyewitnesses could refuse to testify, for some reason.
  12. That's what I thought, but with Rosensleaze talking about an extension with TD (read: bigger contract), it might not be as great as we think.
  13. But then again, should he have to repay his salary from his rookie year, since he didn't play a down? And should players be expected to give back pay if they don't play well or can't play? I know in my job, I can't demand a huge pay raise if I had a great year, but I also know my employer can't dock me for subpar years, although they have the option to fire me.
  14. You left out the part of LA's post where he says that "Option 3" WILL NEVER HAPPEN. And he's right. Like I said, TD will hang-onto Travis if he doesn't get a deal he likes, if nothing more than to spite the other GM's who would love nothing more than to see him release Travis, if not to SPITE Travis and his agent. When you accept this fact Bill, it becomes only a 2 option scenario: trade him or keep him. You forgot to mention getting hit by a bus or spontaneous combustion. Thank goodness the draft is over. It totally inflated the RB market, with unproven players who have yet to play a down in the NFL. But I guess to some, that's better than someone who's shown they can pay in the NFL. A deal will get done. Where there's smoke, there's fire, and it's gettin' hot in here.
  15. On the flip-side, if you think he's going to be great, do you try to make him play-out his cheap rookie contract and then see him bad-mouth the team and want to leave, a la Shawn Alexander, or do you pre-empt a messy holdout and bad feelings, bite the bullet, and do the extension early?
  16. Yeah, he "accidentally" bashed her in the nose, while throwing her stuff out the window, and before throwing her out of the car. If this clown walks a 2nd time because she was thinking more about her meal ticket than her personal safety, I'll be PISSED!
  17. Yeah, that's what I was saying. Either TD gets what he wants, or he keeps Travis, period. Travis' cap hit is minimal and his potential for distraction is almost nil.
  18. I don't think it does. And if it does, it's already accounted-for and Ralpie will get it back into his wallet.
  19. Re-read my post (#57) Bill. Either TD gets what he wants in a trade, or he keeps Travis. He will NOT be traded for a measly 5th rounder, or even a 4th rounder, and he will NOT be cut, since both moves would indicate defeat and give the other GM's what they wanted anyway, which was Travis free and clear. I can't make it any more plain than that.
  20. As the 3rd RB, who would be inactive every week anyway, it's a non-issue. And he'd have to give back half his salary if he sat out half the season, meaning he'd save the Bills $625K (i.e. half his $1.25M base salary).
  21. First of all, the "3rd equals a 1st" was me being facetious. Sorry I didn't raise my hand to indicate that. But yes a 3rd next draft would be worth more than a 3rd in this past draft, again given the weakness of this past draft. And second of all, no one said prior to the draft that the Bills would get a 1st for Travis, and a 2nd is still a possibility if the rumors about a conditional 2nd are true.
  22. Cutting Travis would BE letting another GM "get over" on him, which is why it won't happen. He'll keep Travis on the 53-man roster, make him inactive the 1st 8 weeks, and then watch him report for the final 8 weeks. Then when he's gone in UFA, the Bills might get a comp pick for him in the 2007 draft. But when Travis hits the market in 2006, those teams that were looking at him THIS year (AZ, Titans, and Jax), will have to compete for his services as an UFA, and he likely won't even talk to them considering they didn't trade for him when they got a chance, given his recent actions.
  23. I agree he's not as close as he used to be. Good god, he sounds like just another "NFL expert" now! He's talking about how the Bills are "perceived" to want to unload Travis quickly, because they're worried about him becoming a distraction. What he (like all the other "experts") fails to realize is that, with Travis vowing to never suit up for the Bills again and stay in FLA, he's not even an afterthought. Out of sight, out of mind, as they say. And I think that most clubs THOUGHT that the Bills would want to unload his ASAP, but are now starting to realize that TD wasn't kidding when he said he'd keep him all year if he had to.
  24. The Bills will get AT LEAST a 3rd rounder for him, with the possibility of it upgrading to a 2nd. And a 3rd next year is worth a 1st THIS past draft, given how weak it was and how much stronger next year's will be.
