  1. Give the whole team time. I know no one wants to...but I'm not certain what the choices are.

Donohoe has had 3+ years, how much friggin time does he want to at least put together a winning streak?? Absent the first half of 2002 and the first 2 games of 03, have the Bills generated any excitment or been relevant at all during Donohoe's tenure??? I'm sick of waiting. Is dealing with this stevestojan the price we have to pay for enjoying 1987-1999? Even the crappy years we had (1997 6-10), you knew we'd bounce back the next year. This team is doing the slow fade off the NFL map.

Choices, I don't know what they are either, cept if we start 1-5, write an open letter to Ralph to get Donohoe out of town. And we won't save the postage!! :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:

  2. When I saw there was no flag.....I started crying.....for real. Tears of joy. That didn't last long.

I was jumping up & down like it was 1992 all over again with about 200 people at McFadden's in NYC. The atmosphere in the 1st half was electric, I lost my voice screaming so much & hoped we were finally gonna make it. Call me an idiot, but I actually thought we were gonna tie that game and win it in OT. Naked fugging bootleg... :(

  3. I haven't changed the sig under my avatar since battling with Spiked. I'm a bledsoe backer, think he gives us the best chance to win, and I firmly believe that he will get it turned around.

Both of the first two games were very close and one play could have decided it. I was at Jax & we kicked their asses all over the field, just couldn't deliver a knockout blow. That said, our team is young and learning how to win together. I am confident they will.

I've said all offseason, since the schedule came out, this team needs to be .500 on Dec 1 & we're going to the playoffs cause a 4-1 Dec (inclu Pitt game 1/2) is likely with that schedule.

Drew's gonna turn it around versus NE. We're gonna break their streak. This team NEEDS a big, confidence boosting win and I think we're gonna get it versus NE.

  4. A couple more interesting tidbits from the same article, albeit further down the page...

It's clear that the Buffalo Bills are doing everything they can to protect quarterback Drew Bledsoe, to play conservatively enough on offense to keep him out of harm's way, and to continue to play great defense. But the Bills learned a tough and painful lesson last week: In the NFL, you have to play to win, and you can't play not to lose. Sure, cornerback Nate Clements committed a cardinal sin when he attempted to intercept the ball, instead of merely batting it away, on a critical fourth-down play that kept alive a last-gasp Jacksonville possession. But the Bills had a ton of opportunities to put the game away and too often blinked. Even some Buffalo players acknowledged to us this week that the coaches have taken the Bledsoe salvaging job to the extreme. Bledsoe, by the way, is just 2-10 in his last dozen road starts, and the Bills play at Oakland on Sunday.

    ;);)

One of Gibbs' former charges, tackle Bob Whitfield, rebuffed the Falcons' proposal to rejoin the club this week after team officials declined to guarantee his salary for the full season. The Falcons are concerned about the availability of left tackle Kevin Shaffer for Sunday's game against St. Louis, and Whitfield, released in preseason after 12 seasons with Atlanta, might have actually started the game. But if "Big Whit" was going to dig his cleats out of the closet, there was going to be a price tag attached, for sure. And when the Falcons balked, he opted to sit at home, figuring the phone will ring soon. Given the poor tackle play around the league last weekend, and the spate of injuries already on some offensive lines, it's a gamble he might win.

Hmmmm......perhaps Whitfield would like to play RT, thereby moving MW to LG???

  5. The one problem, though (as pointed out above) is that being 2-0 gives you the luxury of some extra time to work out the problems. The Bills no longer have any time to figure things out. With the Pats up next, they need to get the ball rolling or they're staring right at 0-3, with a very possible 0-5 on the horizon.

I couldn't agree more. As an avowed Bledsoe backer and someone who thought the problems were coaching and would be correctable, I have to say that Sunday's game was the absolute worst game I've ever seen Bledsoe play. He was awful.

With 3 straight division games coming up, this team NEEDS a big win. Not a moral victory, not playing the Pats tough, no this team NEEDS to beat the Pats at home. Period. It would be even sweeter if our much maligned qb could lead the Bills on a game winning, final drive. We NEED that.

  6. Good luck to you pkwwjd.

A couple of years back my wife donated a kidney to her sister, so I know what you're going thru. My wife was/is absolutely fine and healthy and so is her sister. My wife did not have it done laproscopically, but the older way, surgically. Of course, I think the surgeon tried to minimize the scar & cut as much as possible (its only about 6 inches and barely noticable at this point).

If you have any questions or need any advice for you or your family, feel free to PM me.

  7. Guys, this gloom and doom is getting a bit ridiculous. We have a good team that just needs to learn how to finish off an opponent. We'll get there.

All this about how we stink, TKO should be traded, waiting for JP etc., is crazy. This season hasn't even really begun yet. For a little refresher, here's how some of last year's plaoff teams started...

    Dallas (0-1) Final Record 10-6

St. Louis (0-1, then 1-2) Final Record 12-4

New England (0-1, a 31-0 whipping) Final Record 14-2, SB Champs

    Philly (0-2) Final Record 12-4

    Ravens (0-1) Final Record 10-6

Green Bay (0-1, then 1-2 after ugly loss to Arizona) Final Record 10-6

And for the piece de resistance...

Buffalo (2-0, dominant 31-0 and 38-17 wins vs NE and Jax) Final Record 6-10

Point is, its early and a lot can change, if we're sitting at 0-6 or 1-5 a month from now, then we can discuss tarring & feathering Donohoe, till then....GO BILLS!!!!

  8. Last night we reached 750 members, this time last year we had 471! We're shooting for 1000 by the end of the season.

At McFaddens this weekend, the bar was packed wall to wall, and we even had 20 Bills fans overflow into the bar next door. Amazing considering that half our regulars were in Buffalo for the game. This week, 42nd and 2nd in Manhattan is going to be Little Buffalo!!!

No stevestojan. I, along with about 10 guys, are one of those regulars and was in Buffalo with the same 10 guys for the opener. We will all be at McFaddens this week.

  9. The deep pass is coming. You guys read what MM said last week..We're not going to be perfect in week 1. Combine that with the fact that the line has not yet jelled (even tho they played better than I thought they would) and setting up a deep ball right now would end up with Bledsoe being sacked.

Give it a week or two, I expect to see the full array of offensive weaponary ready, primed and willing to go for the 3 straight division contests we start in 2 weeks.

  10. I think, overall, we did not play pretty well. Overall, we dominated the friggin game. We !@#$ed up a couple of plays that were NOT the norm (EM fumble, stupid lateral, pass to shelton on 3rd & goal) and I think that we will correct those things. This team has a chance to be pretty good, but the Raiders and then 3 straight division games will tell us all we need to know.

That said, I am seriously concerned about our kicking game, that is not a minor problem.

  11. Ummmm....the worst thing we can do is start a thread like this. Of course, Sullivan's article was a hatchet job & completely out of place. But look at how many of us have posted on it. If we all ignored it, and him, he would fade away.

He's a pompous ass who really doesn't carre about the Bills nor Buffalo. We should simply ignore him, not encourage him via threads like this (I'm sure he reads TBD) and emails debating points with him.

  12. I do hope that TD signed big Pat. I know Pat wants to stay a Bill and really you can't underestimate the value of big behemoth DT's like Pat and Sam on the roster and how they tie up blockers and keep them off the LBs. Bannan/Anderson/Edwards aren't big enough to do that. At least we can keep our D intact, which is the heart of the team.

JJ will not sign with us. I just have a feeling on that one. We're gonna need a LT next year. Maybe McNally gets MW in shape to be a LT and we need a RT. Maybe we sign one or even draft one in the 2nd round (JJ was a 3rd rounder remember). Or, maybe thats when TD deals Henry or McGahee for a top 5 pick and takes the next Gallery. All of these are possibilities.

  13. You gotta fight it. 84 in a 55 is too much to pay. I've used the following defense 3 times (twice for myself, once for my father-in-law). It worked twice, for myself & father-in-law. You have to look and act professional (suit, shave etc.). It does work and is based in sound legal theory. The trick is to attack not only the radar gun, but the tuning forks that calibrate the radar gun. It is all explained in the book. I paid the 30 bucks and it has been worth it.
