Would you pull this trade off if you were the Bills GM?

    John Brown for AJ Green

AJ Green is not happy in Cincy and wants a new deal.  He is a perennial pro bowler, (7 pro bowls).  AJ Green has only played 4 full seasons out of 9. He probably would play 2 more years tops.  Personally I think for the short term he would be amazing on the other side of Diggs, almost like what James Lofton was for Andre Reed.  He is great with the intermediate and deep ball and has a knack for the end zone.

John Brown's value has never been higher.  He is coming off a great year with Buffalo and has 2 years remaining on his contract. He lacks size but is a very good route runner and came through in the clutch many times for us last year.  John Brown has only played 2 full seasons out of 6.

AJ Green (will be 32yrs old when the season begins)                      John Brown (will be 30yrs old when the season begins)

    9 seasons                                                                                                   6 seasons

75 catches per season  avg                                                                    48 catches per season avg

1,113 yards per season avg                                                                    715 yards per season avg

Do you really miss the Bills sucking this much?

Bills-Steelers was NOT one of the highest rated games of the year, or even one of that week (Rams vs you guessed it, the Dallas Cowboys earlier that day had almost 5 million more viewers). Every single Dallas SNF game had higher ratings. I'm love that the Bills are getting respect and viewers, but they aren't a top draw quite yet. Hopefully they will be!

Can you cite your source because I have ratings that show the Bill-Steelers games was the most-watched individual game that weekend with a 10.47 share, 18.1 MM viewers.  Perhaps you're referring to the Sunday 4pm ratings of 13.12 rating/23 MM viewers, but that's for ALL games shown, not just the Cowboys.

Further, Bills-Dallas drew a 13.53 rating, 32.6 MM viewers. Top rated football game.

LOL -- I'm sure some will say the receiver talent is making Josh look good by catching his errant throws, or something like that.

Gotta stick to his draft narrative. Not gonna let success force people to admit they were wrong.

We're all going to eventually die my man, but we also need to get back to living before that happens. Let's go.

Here in NH or governor extended the stay at home order till the end of May. But you know what? No one cares. I had to get something for my pool Saturday. Poll store was open. (Essential?) No one wearing masks or gloves. Driving back  traffic was as usual. Every store I saw was open. So from my perspective people have stopped caring or worrying about it.

"The ripple effect of the Rams trading for Jalen Ramsey without a contract extension and the Texans dealing for Laremy Tunsil without a contract is something I have been chronicling for quite a while. Tunsil already hit his grand slam, securing $22M a year from O'Brien, and Ramsey will inevitably crush it as well. Two teams may be caught in the crosshairs of these decisions more than any others. The Ravens – who hope to extend tackle Ronnie Stanley and corner Marlon Humphrey ASAP – and the Bills, who would like to secure the services of left tackle Dion Dawkins and stud corner Tre'Davious White into the future, as well. These dominoes will keep falling, and it will make the terrain more difficult to navigate for other front offices. Actions have consequences."

Man I hate having to pay good players!

So are you going on record right now that Mitch Trubisky is better than Dalton, Cam and Winston?

Don’t be wishy-washy. He’s got a job and is a starter! That was your (silly) argument two posts ago. Stick with it man!

Like @Meatloaf63 said, contracts play into it.  If Minshew or Trubisky made what Newton and Dalton made they wouldn't be around either. I know anything harder than yes/no answers are hard for you but try.

Shocker.  A pain in the ars Boston reporter trashing the Bills.  Never heard of that.  Just like when I competed, I’ll let my competing do the talking.  When we sweep them they’ll change the tune.

This is just testicle-tickling for a nervous Pats fan base. They need to be soothed into believing their team didn't hit rock bottom. We'll see who melts when they play.

Oh, so Gardner Minshew and Mitch Trubisky are so much better than Cam, Winston and Dalton. I am still very smart.

Then explain why teams let these gift-from-the-gods QBs go? Jax could sign anyone of them to replace Minshew....but they haven't.  Winston had to take a backup job. Cam and Flacco? Crickets. Dalton is still fresh on the beach so who knows.  He could end up with the Pats if they cut a few big contacts, but I doubt it.

I get that having people speak well of the Bills is disconcerting. It must really be hard on the TBD Fellowship of the Miserable.

Kind of a ridiculous opinion piece by Dan Shaughnessy. I had fun laughing at it. Here are some excerpts:

    https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/04/30/sports/worried-about-patriots-standing-afc-east-dont-be/

"How can Belichick be so Bird-like, cocky and calm, while the Patriot dynasty seems to be crumbling?

I give you three words: Bills, Dolphins, Jets.

Meet the New Tomato Cans. Same as the Old Tomato Cans. The Jets, Dolphins, and Bills are still Moe, Larry, and Curly. They are knuckleheads, porcupines, and lamebrains."

"Have pity on those poor folks in Buffalo, Miami, and East Rutherford, N.J. They are naive, innocent, and foolish. The pathetic Bills Mafia and New York’s Fireman Ed actually think the Patriots are going to fall from their perch atop the AFC East this year."

"The Bills went 10-6 last season and are the flavor of the month now that Brady is gone. Sorry. Not buying. Mistake-prone quarterback Josh Allen is not the answer. Allen is the Joe Kelly of NFL QBs and will lose his job to 167th draft pick Jake Fromm."

"Meanwhile, based on what we saw from his choke job against the Texans in the playoffs in January, it’s safe to say that Bills coach Sean McDermott will dissolve whenever he looks across the field and sees the Hoodie. The Bills over the Patriots? I don’t think so."

Dan Shaughnessy is the Jerry Sullivan of BAH-ston.

    Minority of Bills fans? Sure.

  I agree. People who don't pay any attention to the Bills are woefully misinformed.

Outside this board, I think you would find yourself in the distinct minority on this issue.  Allen has yet to put up a season that compares to what Cam, Dalton, and Winston have done in the past.  As it stands, Allen is a developing QB who isn't asked to do too much due to a stout defense.

And yet all those QB's are unemployed right now, while Allen is having a team built around him. Funny how life works.

When that family member is making the hiring decisions for an organization, I don't think it should be overlooked that the hiring decisions he made (i.e. his brother) might not be what's best for the organization.

You know in North Korea when an official falls out of favor with the regime, not only is he executed but his entire family gets it as well. Maybe they're on to something.

Winston, Cam, and/ or Dalton.  It’s not even a knock on Dalton because those guys have all had big moments in the nfl.  But in an open competition at training camp, do I think they could look better than Allen? Absolutely.

Well I think you'd be in the minority.

The Bills aren’t bringing in anyone that could look better than Allen. I both hate it and also understand it.

I have to ask. What QB was out there, that the Bills could have drafted or signed, that would look better than Josh Allen?
