Probably not, but if a PLAY could be on the Wall of Fame, I'd take that cross-body block he threw ... never afraid to mix it up!

Wonder if Brady has anything to do with Josh's headphone not working? 🤫 😁

After Jacksonville I’ll put a bit of weight on the trap game concept.
I would add that the Jacksonville game should be used by coaches and team leaders for years to come as motivation to perform in EVERY SINGLE GAME. That loss cost us home field advantage in the divisional playoff round vs. KC and probably the Lombardi Trophy. And a side note to McD ... when the day isn't going your way, take the effing 3 points when you can. Appreciate the bravado in going for TDs, but we lost 9-6 and had several opportunities for 3 points and came away with nothing.

To me in order and the picks I liked
1. Chiefs: McDuffie (21), Karlaftis (30), Moore (54), Cook S (62) Chenal (103), Kinnard OL (145)
The Tyreek Hill trade was a brilliant move by the Chiefs - that's how to maintain a strong roster and be relevant every season - move a guy who still has 1 or 2 years left in his "prime" and stack some high draft picks ... AND ... on top of it all, ship Buffalo's personal nemesis to a team in our division - geez. Anyhow, I hope Beane can pull some kind of a trade of a guy maybe he doesn't see as being a Buffalo Bill a year or two out and move that player while there is still perceived value and stack some high-round future picks. The Patriots traded away still-performing players often (maybe too often) and stacked picks, as well.

What do you think about Beane trading for 6th rounders?
A mid-to-late 5th would have been a little nicer, but Beane sees this as a deep draft, so maybe it works out.

Recall the gutsy performance playing injured and was a soft spoken leader. Happy Birthday Sir!
Of all the past heartbreaking games we've all endured, this one always sticks out to me more because of Fergy's gutsy play instead of just that the game was lost. That was a very good team and I think they could have won it all that season if they could have gotten past the Chargers in San Diego.

Hmm, take a percentage of a player's salary and call it coaching salary to fit under the cap 😁

Mark this date in history - there are presently no players named "Williams" on the Bills roster! haha

It was a great game. I was devastated after the loss after thinking the Bills would win all this time, Fergy on a bad ankle and all. I will see if I can post it (I can do it in the background), and will save this thread and notify you if/when I do it.
Awesome - thank you!!

I downloaded it when it was posted on YouTube in 2015 (it was posted as 1st half and 2nd half), but when I searched for it just now online, it was not there. I can try to upload it some time, but it is not high on my priority list, to be honest.
No problem - just glad to know it exists still - was beginning to think it was completely lost or something - thanks for response. I normally don't enjoy re-watching a loss, but was a good competitive game.

Does anyone have a link to the 1980 season divisional playoff game between Bills and Chargers (Jan. 3 1981)?
I have searched, but unable to find any video of this game - could only locate video of regular season match-up. Despite the loss (20-14), I remember how great a game it was - a real gutsy performance by Joe Ferguson.

I would be fine if Araiza was selected in the 1st round by Buffalo. Ray Guy was a 1st round pick and that really paid dividends to the Raiders for years. It's a game of field position and if you have a punter that can add 20 or so yards to the average punt, you have something very special.

Not in the front office ranks, but I'm reminded of Chuck Lester 😁
And I'm not knocking the guy, but it was amazing he served 5 different HCs in Buffalo between 1987 & 2009 - Marv Levy, Wade Phillips, Gregg Williams, Mike Mularkey & Dick Jauron -

As teams get closer to winning the SB I feel it makes sense to shift resources from building a foundation towards high end talent. Those resources are cap usage and draft picks.
I see your point, but I also don't think the team should abandon the methodology that got them this close to a SB to begin with. I don't think I'd allocate more than 10%-to-15% of all available resources to a "big name" guy while using the remaining 85%-to-90% of resources in the usual process way ... making sensible FA deals that work for the both the team and the player, trades, drafting well, etc). Maybe bring on ONE big name guy who can truly be a difference maker, but otherwise be prudent with remaining resources and do deals that make sense to the team and generally stick to the plan that made you this competitive.
Edit: And I'd want to keep my draft picks, so I'd make sure the resources came from CAP. -
With the loss of Duke & Antonio, Buffalo is down to just a single "Williams" on their roster! This must be addressed - Beane will take care of it! 😁
-
Not against any free agent who can help - big splash or small ripple - just be a solid contributor. Hope Pegula just lets Beane do his thing with FA - last thing we need is a meddlesome owner. Buffalo is already a hot destination for FAs with Allen at QB and it's not like we need to bring in a big name just to appear relevant (e.g. Terrell Owens) because Buffalo is already relevant.

On a side note, think of the fact that we could have Rosen, Josh, and Darnold all on this roster together if we really wanted to. Hell, even Baker after this season. It's crazy how that all turned out.
It is quite ironic that this is even feasible. I wouldn't be totally against Darnold as a backup, but just not sure he has shown enough to hope he can turn his career around. At least Mitch Trubisky had a degree of success with Chicago and a .596 win percentage, but cannot say the same of Darnold.

1. Nathan Peterman's quick release was fast like Dan Marino's and he would have great success in this league.
2. J. P. Losman would have a productive career.3. I thought Marcel Dareus would develop into a Pat Williams type of NT, but instead he went the route of JaMarcus Russell once he got his big pay day.
4. I was on the fence with Johnson vs. Flutie, but leaned a bit toward Johnson instead of Flutie.
5. I thought Kelvin Benjamin was a good acquisition.
6. Duke Williams was going to be that big target and would blossom.
7. Marv Levy was just another coaching "re-tread" and would only last a couple of years in Buffalo as HC.
8. Marv Levy would be a savior as a GM.
However, on the flip side, I will say I was all-in on the Josh Allen pick before the draft and didn't think much of the "other Josh".

I know the idea behind undersized D-linemen is to have quickness, but would still love to have at least one Pat Williams type of player on the roster to stuff runs up the middle.

Wow that was a surprise. Huge loss for the Bills. A lot of change on the coaching staff and that worries me.
Wonder if he was holding out for promotion to DC (under assumption Frazier would be moving elsewhere). With Frazier still here, maybe he's just had enough.
