Yeah Bills should have read every private text he ever sent. ?

it wasnt social media. It was a private text. You’re being s little ridiculous here.

Ok, my bad - missed the "private" vs. 'public' aspect, so I take back the part of my statement about the poor vetting by Bills.

But, this changes nothing - cat is out of the bag now - can't undo this no how, no way, so I stand by the part of my statement that says he must be cut.

  2. If it is true, just cut him.  That's the only statement that can be made that these kinds of views - even if said jokingly in social media, are simply unacceptable.  It's the only way to move forward and keep this team together.  Also, if it's true, ***** job by Bills in vetting the guy - should have understood by now that social media needs to be scanned meticulously prior to drafting a guy.  I sure hope is fake.  Dividing the team cannot happen and he must go if this is accurate - it's that simple.

  3. Dak Prescott is a good QB and many teams would be glad to have him, but his QB talent is not worth this kind of money, imo.  There goes about 17% per year of your salary cap on ONE guy (averaged over 5 seasons).  QB is very important, but at the end of the day, he is still 1/11th of the offense.  He is not nearly as much of a "difference maker" compared to a guy like Mahomes.  He's not the kind of player who can single-handedly make everyone around him better.  The Cowboys will live to regret this contract if it goes through.  Just my opinion.  I could be wrong.

  4. According to the article on NFL.com, over the past two seasons, on-sides kicks have been successful 10.4% of the time (higher than I expected, honestly).  According to Football Outsiders, the average rate of success of a 4th-and-15 scenario is 12.5%.  So, effectively, the proposed rule change increases the odds of keeping the football by only 2.1%, but teams risk giving the opponent the ball on the 25-yd line (instant field goal range for the opponent) instead of somewhere closer to mid-field with a failed on-sides kick.  I don't know if the proposed rule change really provides enough incentive to try it, so I don't see it so much as a "reward" for the trailing team - it's a very risky thing to try.  On the other hand, if your QB has a hot hand in the 4th suddenly, maybe you try it in those situations.  Not sure I like it, but not dead-set against it, either.  I would add a couple of requirements - you must have just scored a TD on the previous play and not a field goal to "earn" the right to attempt the 4th-and-15 and it should not be an option on an opening kickoff of either half.  Actually, I wouldn't allow it in the 1st half at all (not that teams would even consider that).

  5. Just let the guy compete - fairly - for a spot on the team.  If he earns a spot, keep him.  If he doesn't release him.  But there is no need to pre-judge.  I, for one, want to see him given a genuine opportunity to make the squad in any capacity that makes sense.

  6. Oil less than $1 (that's correct - ONE DOLLAR) a barrel right now.  Oil futures have even gone NEGATIVE for like the first time ever.  This must have a lot to do with Pegula's financial woes.  Thank you MSM for scaring the crap out of everyone over the virus - now Buffalo could lose one or both franchises over the economic woes - crazy.  I don't think will happen, but we need to open the country back up and SOON!

So as a kid I was always pissed that Ronnie Harmon didn’t catch what I thought was a easy catch the 2nd to last play before Jim Kelly threw the game ending interception.

Last night after all these years I rewatched the 1989 divisional playoff game in its entirety on Youtube and I had totally forgotten that on the previous td Scott Norwood slipped on his butt and missed the extra point to put the Bills behind by 4 points instead of 3 with like 3 minutes to go.So Norwood basically screwed up badly two years in a row??

Good point!  The other annoying thing about that game was Ronnie Harmon was wide open in the end zone on the next play (I think), but Kelly had lost confidence in him and didn't throw it his way - always wonder what would have happened if Kelly gave him another chance there.

  8. 100% Brady leaves the Pats.  It's not about the $ at this point.  It's about proving he can be a winner w/o Belichick.  Unfortunately, for Brady, he waited too long to separate - his skills are diminished and he won't take another team to a championship.  Belichick, on the other hand, will have continued success - especially with his  *real* ace-in-the-hole - Ernie Adams.  Also, Kraft's legal issues not going away soon and *if* the NFL ever gets around to punishing the Pats* for latest video-taping scandal, that has some potential to weaken the product this coming season.  If I'm Brady, I want OUT.

Chas, if it helps I called into WGR today, and gave them you’re idea.  Tasker and Brown didn’t necessarily say it was the right idea, but they did say something does have to change and maybe flag is an option.  Just wanted to give you the credit on this board.

Hey, that very cool!  The power of social media!  Thanks for that!!

you know Chas, I never thought I would say this, but I agree with you.  These guys would play hard if there was no hitting, and you’d get the best out of the skill players.  I’d actually watch that game,  and there is more to flag then most people think.  There is a lot of strategy involved and speed kills.  I coached it in a very competitive league for 7 years before I coached my boys in tackle.  I had more fun coaching them in flag then tackle and I played tackle ball for years.

I know exactly what you mean - never dreamed I'd be promoting flag football at the NFL level (the game has already gotten too soft in ordinary games).  However, the Pro Bowl game is just dumb the way it's played today - it's not that much fun to watch - it just looks like a bunch of overgrown kids goofing off.  It would be nice to see a competitive game - and if making it flag football does the trick, then so be it.

  11. In all seriousness, the Pro Bowl ought to be played as Flag Football.  At least that would be competitive.  No one wants to see these players get hurt in a meaningless game, so why not truly make it a Flag Football game?  At least then, you'd see real COMPETITION.  It would be a win-win - no one gets hurt and we still get to see the best players in the game truly COMPETE.  I'm not joking about this - it would be a good move for the NFL and this particular game.

  12. Nice to have 9 picks! ...

       1st Rnd - 1

       2nd Rnd - 1

       3rd Rnd - 1

       4th Rnd - 1

5th Rnd - 3 (additional picks from Cleveland & New England)

6th Rnd - 2 (additional pick from Cleveland)

7th Rnd - 0 (gave up pick to Cleveland)

Can still pick up quality talent in 5th round to develop - great to have 3 picks there and/or use to trade up with.

  13. What I find it amusing how commentators say stupid things like (paraphrasing) "It's incredible how many Bills fans made the trip" every time we fill up an away stadium with our fans, as if we all got together and chartered fifty 747's out of Buffalo.  What they don't realize is that Buffalo fans are EVERYWHERE.  It's probably a local drive or maybe a few hours drive for probably 80% of the Bills fans at these games.  As a friend once told me "you can take the boy out of Buffalo, but you can't take Buffalo out of the boy" - hmm, not sure if that sounds good, but anyhow, you get the idea!  :)

  14. I'm not depressed at all.  I love this team and the trajectory it is on.  While Allen did unravel late, he was simply excellent at times, too.  I like Allen and I like this team and they are only going to improve.

What DOES get me down is reading news stories of idiotic fans saying terrible things to Cody Ford - there is no place for that.

On an aside, this game mimicked "The Comeback", in ways:

"The Comeback" (or "The Choke", as Houston fans call it):

    35-35 Buff ties it

    38-35 Buff goes ahead

38-38 Hou ties it - OT

    41-38 Buff wins in OT

The "Payback" (just made that up - sure someone will come up with something better):

    16-16 Hou ties it

    19-16 Hou goes ahead

19-19 Buff ties it - OT

    22-19 Hou wins in OT

The main difference is that Buffalo came back from a 32-point deficit and Houston came back from a 16-point deficit, but very similar in some ways, too.  When I say "Houston", really the fanbase (obviously, a different franchise), but the "payback" represents fandom.

  15. Sorry, boss, my astrologer told me it would be too risky to leave the house on Saturday and that I'd be safest in front of my television - and she's always been right.

Umm, also, she was a little concerned about one day the following weekend, too, but she hasn't quite felt the vibe strong enough yet to be sure which day I need to stay home.  She said that she'll have a better feel for that by Saturday evening - I'll keep you posted.  Hope you understand, boss.
