    I remember it well. It was my birthday and I was in the Staff NCO Academy in Hawaii. We were in the middle of combat field operation training when the word came down. Sad day indeed.

    Thanks all. Spent my birthday officiating a softball tournament. Two hours sleep from 6 am Friday until 3 am Sunday. Gotta love those round the clock tourneys....

    Growing up in that era I have a soft spot for the 70's and 80's rock bands. I'm glad to see them back out touring and doing well. Steve Perry had a great voice and I think it's pretty cool that Arnel can pretty much match his pipes. I personally liked Journey and still do.

    I'll turn 39 this month and I have 5. I would get more but the Marine Corps implimented new rules and I can't get them where I wanted to now so I'm done I guess. At least until I retire.

    I really miss NY, but after being away for 20 years in the military I think I'll stay in NC. My property tax last year for a $215,000 house was............drum roll please............$800 <ducks>

    Not quite true. When I went to Iraq, we had to go to Kuwait for some financial stuff first. We rented a car and were paying 24 cents a litre. You do the math, it's not very much.....
