  1. Yep I realized that after I wrote it, my bad.
  2. Yes post WWII Italy was certainly a paradise, especially in the south I didn't say my parents escaped Venezuela, my father lived there for a period.
  3. Come again? When my parents left Italy, they were dirt poor and had to live in a friends apartment till they could afford rent. I've been trying to get the !@#$ out of Montreal for the last three years but I won't leave for something that isn't much better because I still get a relatively decent standard of living here. It's much easier to pick up and leave when **** is really bad but when **** is so/so, it's easier to choose the status quo.
  4. Funny that people who see first hand the reality of leftist policies never want to go back.
  5. I wouldn't say stupid but I would say ignorant. Your statement on the other hand...
  6. Sorry it's hard to find "pros" from a dictatorship especially being the son of a parent who lived in Venezuela for some 20 years. There is a reason they left for this frozen **** hole.
  7. You've gotta be !@#$ing kidding me.
  8. To be fair, he was probably thinking of another timeline he visited.
  9. Im just waiting for the real events to come out on documentary format so i could know what really happened
  10. Jim lied, people ... were cold
  11. My favorite part Joe: you wrote about this in your book for 15 years!! Paul : oh thats a tired argument
  12. I'm actually listening to the entire video of Krugman vs Joe now (they can't find an actual economist to debate this troll?) The end result is probably accurate but this is not a plot as you suggest. People are stupid and will often follow a herd mentality which leads to ups and down. No one notices the security exits until the fire breaks out and then it's too late.
  13. Who pulls the rug exactly?
  14. Where do Wops fall in the day of the week racism scale? Someone get Toure on this!!
  15. As long as it is shareholders that can make the call, i dont really see an issue.
  16. I didn't say the article was specifically about that or the point the author was trying to make but it is often the type of example that would be used in the single payer vs insurance debate. After all the times on this forum that you've totally missed the point, you shouldn't be throwing stones.
  17. And yet the article seems to use the issue of a poor couple chasing above average care as a reason health care should be administered by the government. And dont most people have access to basic care? Medicare + medicaid + insurance for middle class?
  18. You don't think we're affected? Where do you think all those criminals being released run to????
  19. And there is the issue. I have lived in that situation my entire life and guess what? People are starting to opt for private. Personally i dont like the US system any more than the canadian but the constant examples i see is people opting for more expensive treatments that most insurers dont cover. Its not any better if you have single payer. Only the rich blokes will have access to the premium care and well, we're right back where we started.
  20. From what i understand as the point of view of a right wing canuck, this person has access to health care through medicaid but opted for the pricier service that isnt covered? Speaking from my personal experiences here, most people opt to use their canadian healthcare and will head south of the border for more advanced care. Why does anyone think this issue can ever be solved? The well to do will always have access to more than the middle class and poor. No program will solve that.
  21. Conner and din were part of the committee.
  22. He seemed to have gotten it done on November 6th.
