Thank GOD. I hope your post was to defer attention away from....well.....you know.

Ummmmmmmmm, this board is filled with OT posts. But soccer? I don't think soccer should appear anywhere near a football board. Who is playing for who? Metro huh? Rhino's where? Soccer? Oh god, please no.....the word soccer itself makes me wanna eat my own puke!

Yep, stupid I agree. But at least the state can afford to take the day off and still pay it's employees!
-
Not sure how the hell that could happen? Let's see. Here in Virginia.....there has to be a panel of 5 people in the interview. One has to be from an adjacent, independant city. One has to be from another department. And 3 can be from within. So, in short, a real favor would be for me to hire my uncle as a Rec Specialist II job that would pay him about 45K with full benefits. However, no matter who I am, he wouldn't even get past the HR screening process, let alone me be able to hire him. He wouldn't have the credentials. Totally uninformed comments like this are hilarious. Could I probably persuade someone to hire a guy I actually wanted for a job that only requires a GED however? Yeah probably, but not assured. And it's totally laughable that I guess your assuming that private companies or factories don't get buddies or relatives in to certain jobs. Wake up, you aren't talking to all idiots on this board. Gov't jobs are all posted publicly. For most of them that pay well, you need certain degrees, maybe a masters, and other experience. I highly doubt that someone was hired at a high paying job without at least having the credentials to cover the city's ass. If they don't have the credentials, and you guys still vote for the fools and elect the same types of gov't, well then, it's your own fault. I have a good job. I love it. My board of supervisors this year are all going to Hawaii for a national conference meeting. Am I pissed about that? You bet I am. I'd rather have that given to the employees in a raise. Do I have their education, credentials and knowledge to take their job or run for it in the future? Not yet, so I can't B word about it. I do, however, have something to shoot for. I don't want a damn union to get it for me. I'll do it myself!

No jackass, actually, our governement isn't a bunch of total slobs like in the Buffalo area. And my uncle is a good worker, just caught up in all the big union BS up north. So, if he would be willing to move, YES, I would hire him in a minute. And, in case you couldn't read, at a 10K pay cut, less than what he makes at the mine. And you see, when goverment works down here.....people DO wise up, and give us even more resources to work with. I produce new parks that the kids play in. Top of the line athletic fields. New gymnasiums, a soccer complex, and new practice football fields. Instead of typical jackass statements like the one you just made.....how it really works is like this........The local government does a pretty decent job. The quality of life goes up. People actually WANT to move here. They get good schools, employment, and quality recreation. Thus, the area is PROGRESSIVE in it's thinking, unlike BUFFALO. Then, an ordinary maintenance worker.....instead of begging a union leach for more money would simply do a good job in his current position, and then move up to a supervisory role when another NEW park opens up in the same thriving county. And this may be a shock, but yes, new parks are opening as we speak. I'm not in government work to make sure you make money. Do that for your friggin self. I'm in gov't to make the area I work for more liveable, and to see it survive and grow. If Buffalo's gov't chooses to ride the sinking ship of what is does now, you have no one to blame but yourselves. As a gov't employee, driving through Buffalo makes me sick. There are all kinds of resources up there that are untapped, and un-used. THINK IN THE 21st century. Develop the fuggin waterfront. Develop Niagara Falls. Develop the friggin gorgeous waterways you guys have. THEN PEOPLE WILL WANT TO COME THERE. Until then, keep voting Democratic. It's amazing that poor areas have done nothing but voted Democratic and stayed pro-union, despite their communities being driven into the ground. There is one northern state up there that seems to do OK. The state of Indiana is a Republican state surrounded by all that BLUE and Union BS up there. From the bottom 2/3 of the state that is mainly anti-union and strong Republican ideals, the state thrives. Drive North and East, and what do you have? Drive south and what do you have? Self Explanatory! Don't promote yourself as a unionized, whoa is me kinda town. No one feels sorry anymore for those kinds of people. THINK Progressive, change leaders, and let's see Buffalo move in to the 21st century!

Wow. Please stay where you are and never move to the Mid-Atlantic. Ever look at the attitudes of states and areas that love unions and then look at areas that are mostly against unions? Please keep the unions up north, and keep all of the democrats up north while you're at it. I'll gladly drive through, spend some southern money, root for the Bills, and then come back to good ole conservative USA when the game is over. Well, someday, compare Buffalo, Pittsburgh and others up north, to sprawling cities in the Mid-Atlantic. Tell me which one works. Thank god most people and companies here want to keep that union sh-- the hell outta here. There is no comparison between the Mid-Atlantic states and up north. I can see it when driving through all of the northern cities when on my way to a Bills game. You look around and compare Buffalo and Pittsburgh and similar places and then think of here and it's un-comparable. A recession? Not in Virginia. All of my relatives in Pittsburgh are always laid off it seems. No new housing anywhere. The population is aging. Most of them had union jobs as coal workers, teachers, and what not. I'm a Parks and Recreation assistant director in charge of athletics. I started out right out of college with a general degree and made about 23K with full benefits. I moved up various times, and switched places and now make about 50K. I've only been there 6 years. I also had a job interview last week and one this week for two separate jobs that have pay ranges of 62K to 89K. This is a NON union area, thank god......so..... I keep telling my uncle, a coal miner, to move, come down to Virginia, and I'll hire him as a maintenance guy for our county government. This would, in turn, move him outside to mainly cutting grass on athletic fields. Get him top of the line government benefits for him and his family. Start at about 35K a year. That usually goes up in VA about 7% every year. And live in a sprawling area. Better schools for his kids, better everything except restaurants basically. Well, he'd rather work 3 miles underground every day. Fight for benefits that always get cut or stay in constant bickering with management each year. Get laid off every two weeks, or have his mine close every other month. And probably die from black lung or suffer miserably when he's only $50. All for about 45K. Not realizing that the 45K means being laid off almost half the year, every year. To each his own, but you get what you deserve! It just boggles my mind. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh (Love the Bills).....but I'll be damn if I wanted to live there. Thank god my mom felt the same way. She was in a sewing factory for a living. Single mom, and went to college at night. Got a degree. MOVED out of a dying area, put herself to work, and now is the Vice President of a bank in a beautiful town in VA. If you want to B word and moan, be jealous of everyone, and hate your job....well then, do it. If you want a better life, get off of your ass and make something of yourself, and quit asking for handouts and others to do it for you! And by god.....if you need find employment, and live in a depressed area....MOVE!

Yeah, Sara suffering was bad. I think Sara is hot. I need her to stick around on the show a little while longer. lol

Actually, the Panthers only sold out 4 games last year. Toronto, Tampa Bay, New York Rangers and Washington. The Buffalo games......well......only one game did well, the other was pathetic. 11/24/03 vs the Sabres, the Panthers drew 12,927 and the other on 3/20/04 they drew 18,504. Both non-sellouts. NHL counts tickets sold, not fannies in the seats. The actual fans in the stands were probably much worse, especially for the first one. As a matter of fact, the Panthers had crowds of under 13,500 11 times last year, which is pretty bad! This happened all over the league though. The game is OK in hotbeds, but is struggling badly elsewhere. If the NHL contracted, the Panthers are in serious trouble!

Drew Bledsoe's House Up For Sale??
CentralVaBills replied to AirBledsoe11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course this would work. Why wouldn't it? The only thing that would get you on this......and this is small potato's......is Capital Gains tax. You'd need to hold on to them for two years, or pay a hellacious tax. Even with the Capital Gains tax, you would still make a nice profit, however, you'd just have to sit some aside for tax day! -
Drew Bledsoe's House Up For Sale??
CentralVaBills replied to AirBledsoe11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LMAO.............I was thinking the same thing.......how in the hell could this only be $3,000? I mean, seriously.........$14 a month. If you are poor, and say you can't afford a house.....ummmmmmmmmmm, hell no. You could work part-time and get in this thing! Wow! And here I am near Richmond VA, on 1/2 an acre for 45K for the land alone! That listing in B-Lo seems odd....ghetto or not! -

(OT) What's going on with you local police
CentralVaBills replied to Frez's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, sorry cuz I don't know, if this is a big story, I obviously haven't heard about it down here in VA......What happened to the girl??? -
Yeah, but it has seemed to be making a comeback lately, for reasons unknown!
-
LMAO. Don't know why. But I'm sitting here working on a portfolio and trying to refinance my mortgage, and I just felt like yelling that. Wow! Carry on!

Stoj, and everyone.....thanks for replying...... Here's the deal......I got the interview.......during the application process, you weren't allowed to send in a resume.....which I'm finding out is starting to be pretty standard nowadays. Now, I don't want to do anything wrong, or unorthodox.....out of 89 applicants for this job, they are only interviewing 7. I'm one of them. But, I am being told by everyone, that you take your resume with you, and give everyone on the panel your resume. There will be 5 people on the panel. So, this is a good sports related job....that I really want.....and I have work experience from way back when that relates. But there's no way I can get it on one page. That's why I wanted to know. Any futher thoughts from you guys. This job is probably once in a lifetime chance. I'm really nervous, and just want any ideas I can get! CVA

Anyone wanna play in my football league???
CentralVaBills replied to CentralVaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just bumped once for the morning people. Got one waller, just want to see if there is anyone else! Last Bump! -
your own football team. The best part of this league to me is the draft and how to build your football team. The game itself is not for graphics and people with the best thumbs and fastest fingers. It actually takes brains, and you'll have to manage your salary cap, make trades, play once a week once the season starts, and much more. It's a great fix for not having any football. Dues aren't due until we start the season, and the draft starts April 5. Check out the site, and sift through the links, I would like to see some of you join. Here's the site..... Executive Football League Website I personally run the site, and we have pretty much just finished re-vamping it. The game itself runs across the internet and is played head to head with people from across the country. Check it out. If interested, let me know you are from TBD when emailing! Thanks, CVA

Question about Human Resources Departments....
CentralVaBills replied to CentralVaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's what I thought. I was just wondering. It's a tough place to get in, so I was wondering if I actually got an interview or not! Dammit, I guess I'll sit and wait even yet some more! Thanks for the input. -
I have applied for a gov't job in Va Beach. They have a huge human resource department. Friday, they (HR) called me and asked me to send in additional work experience, so I could fulfill their requirement for that particular job. I sent it in and everything was satisfied. The HR girl emailed me and said that................... " I did receive your additional information and you will be forwarded to the department for interview. Good luck!" OK, does this mean I am going to actually get an interview or does it mean that I'm being forwarded to the Dept that I applied for and they'll decide who they interview? I know HR weeds out the first wave of applicants. All I'm looking for I guess is does anyone think I'm looking good for an interview. That's all I want is the chance to interview. Anybody have an opinion? And no, GOOGLE didn't help me get an answer to this! lol

Friday......he was describing what Tommy Maddox has meant to the development of Roethlisberger and the team in general. He said in his press conference that "Well obviously, he looked good in our exhibition game at Buffalo the last week of the season." Then Cowher chuckled, and said, I mean regular season game. As much as an !@#$ comment that was.......I like that he made that game mean more to the Steelers than the Bills did. It was an obvious shot at TD and MM, and all of the press laughed along with Cowher. I HATE THE STEELERS, but I can't sit here and say they didn't want it more than we did. Makes me sick!
