I think they grasp the concept.  I think they've just failed to get us the personnel to make it a reality.

And I agree.  If you can attack a defense with the run and the pass, both horizontally and vertically, you become very hard to defend.   But we're limited.

But the front office just cant seem to evaluate WR.

    All very true.

However, I believe Brady needs to look at that game as a blueprint for how to make this offense work. Success this year on offense isn't going to come from WRs making plays. We need to run the ball, get the ball to the skilled TEs we have gathered and take a shot down field here and there when the opportunity presents itself.

The Bills will be at their best playing very boring football. 30 running plays a game, 10 yards at a time. Eat up the clock, shorten the game and limit the other teams possessions. The key to success this year is Josh staying patient and being happy to win boring.

Their WR FA signings and reported trade target in Hardman, Cooks and Waddle all suggest they do, in fact grasp that concept.

We need to hope they continue that speed mindset in the off-season and go after some players that aren't just fast, but are known field stretchers. Having a guy like Samuel, that does have speed but using him horizontally doesn't really solve the issue.

They have to actually invest real assets in the position and quit trying to play moneyball.

  3. This quote is bull crap...

Tremendous player," a team source said. "But the offense didn't need him anymore.

We needed him, Brady just couldn't, or wouldn't, scheme him anymore.  He was pissed and I dont blame him

That said, he was an ass about how he went about things, and was wrong in how he handled it.

But to say he, a legitimate threat that DC's had to account for, wasn't needed is BS

Thanks for sharing although as others have pointed out, most of us probably agree.

I stopped listening to WGR so I don't hear him much anymore, but I remember him on One Bills Live just after the 2024 draft. Regarding Coleman, the Bills were talking about how he'd be great on contested catches. Cosell made a comment (I'm sure I don't remember the numbers correctly, but you'll get the idea) that a 40% success rate on contested catches is excellent but a 70% success rate when the catch isn't contested is pretty bad. Therefore, taking Coleman over someone who has shown the ability to separate was a bad move. Excellent point that I hadn't thought of in quite that way before.

he wasn't high on Coleman. Felt going into the draft we should move up for BTJ, but where we were, we should have taken someone like McConkey.   Seems he was right.

He is probably the objective analyst out there.

It's all going to come down to this question in the playoffs:

Will the coaching by and large just stay out of Allen's way and let him do his thing, or are they going to do that thing where they overthink every decision and become obsessed with trying to control every outcome of the game?

My question is will Mcdermott's butt pucker up like has in the playoffs, or will he just coach like he normally does.  He just gets too tight and you can see it in his face and his decisions.

The difficulty of this throw is hard to quantify. It shouldn’t even be possible. The defenders this ball had to go past… the accuracy… the evasiveness… and to hit Shakir right dead set in the numbers.  Incredible.

    Absolute sick throw

oh we're going to paste these guys.

Everything is falling into place this year. Everything.

Playoffs are like mid-September/October inter-divisional games. Likely no Mahomes and no Burrow. Maybe Jackson, but it looks doubtful. Cakewalk.

Imagine saying the road is: Pittsburgh (LOL), Houston (cute story, but who takes them seriously as a SB contender?), Broncos (another cute story)

Even toss in New England, who already won their Super Bowl several weeks ago here and would be trying to be the first team to win 2 rings in one season.

I didn't mention Jacksonville Barbie and their dozens of rabid fans. Basically our road to the Super Bowl is beating the AFC South teams and maybe Denver.

    I mean LET'S GO!

Now Burrow is seemingly pushing to get Zach Taylor finally fired (good luck) or get himself out of there and likely to an NFC team (few AFC landing spots for QB) taking one top QB out of the AFC mix if that happens.

    New stadium.

    Hallmark movie.

Allen being an all time great.

The chance for guys from past teams like Tre White, Poyer, Jordan Phillips, Gabe Davis and others I probably forgot to get a ring as part of this reunion tour.

It simply cannot not happen this year.

    Hell I'm pumped...let's go!

Offense is fine, as always, despite what the vocal contingent of crusaders continually post here.

We will go as far as the defense allows, which has been what has let us down in basically all of our elimination games.

The offense is not fine.  We could do a lot more with even just one bonefied real threat at WR.

But yes, the defense is still missing quality talent.

Behind a paywall, but an interesting read.  His basic take is that the Bills receiver room, while still not great, has evolved into something serviceable.  Davis, Shakir and Shavers have settled in as the prime trio, with Shavers being the Hollins from 2024.  Palmer should be the 4th when healthy, and then the issue is who is the 5th, Cooks or Coleman.  Buscaglia feels Cooks brings better complementary skills than Coleman, so Coleman most likely to sit if Bills go with the usual five receivers.

Room will need overhaul in 2026, but this group might be good enough for the Bills to be a force in playoffs.

Going into the playoffs it should be...

    Shakir

    Shavers

    Davis

    Cooks

    Palmer

    Hardman   As the top 6.

Hartman will be our KO returner, and has speed to get down the field.
