This is just weird DONALD TRUMP: I have an Article II, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president. We will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country. And we will immediately stop all of the pillaging and theft. Very simply, if you rob a store, you can fully expect to be shot as you are leaving that store. (APPLAUSE) Shot! You're not going to be a dictator, are you? I said no, other than day one. In 2016, I declared, I am your voice. Today, I add, I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution. I am your retribution.

The rest of the story: https://www.bbc.com/sport/olympics/articles/c4ngr93d9pgo. She was excluded from an event due to a high testosterone level. Presumably she had all the necessary body parts. Testosterone levels can be elevated in a variety of conditions in females including polycystic ovarian disease or when self administering testosterone. It can be difficult to define a women...MAGAs are weird... more. The Russians are involved. Why do MAGAs like Russia so much? https://apnews.com/article/2024-paris-olympics-women-boxing-1c6c10c60d792b282df3a42561055d14

I see lot's of guys in trucks with dogs and no accompanying women or children. Is there something wrong with them too? I don't particularly like cats. Some people don't like dogs. So what? Stupid, phony, purposeful exclusivity by JD Vance who complains about discrimination against "his people". Not a winning strategy.

Well, it turns out it was a religious festival per a couple sources. Maybe that's the link between the Last Supper and dionysus. The beach volleyball players are almost nude. I suppose it would be difficult to long jump in a toga. From Wiki, this reminds me of a modern political figure One of the most infamous events of Olympic history occurred under the rule of Nero. He desired victory in all chariot races of the Panhellenic Games in a single year, so he ordered the four main hosts to hold their games in AD 67, and therefore the scheduled Olympics of 65, in the 211th Olympiad, were postponed. At Olympia he was thrown from his chariot, but still claimed victory. Nero also considered himself a talented musician, so he added contests in music and singing to those festivals that lacked them, including the Olympics. Nero won all of those contests, no doubt because judges were afraid to award victory to anyone else. After his suicide, the Olympic judges had to repay the bribes he had bestowed and declared the "Neronian Olympiad" to be void.[39]

I don't think the soviet bloc teams were ever amateurs. She lived in a dorm for years, diet controlled, days full of training and had her blood doped. I hope we didn't "catch up". But these games are examples of what men and women can physically be. That was the original Greek idea. There's always going to be cheating and corruption. Those are just more examples of human frailty. it's a huge, multinational morality play...with the best athletes in the world.

Josh is highly paid. Do you watch him? And then there are the true amateurs eg rowing, team handball, diving , swimmers, equestrian etc. I met a Russian rower multiple medalist from more than 30 years ago on a ski trip. She said no one would believe the training. If she went home she said she’d be a national hero. She’s staying here Our one political discussion involved her calling me a socialist. She was otherwise nice.
