And, by the way, this is not a transgender issue. I should make this absolutely clear.” This implies to me XX genotype but no one has said XY except the president of the Russian boxing commission who is reportedly corrupt. I think the big takeaway is that gender is not always clear despite what MAGAs insist. There are many medical conditions that confound the determination. For example, would an XXY individual be male;e or female. Most live as males.

The IOC hasn't commented on genotype. The Russian board who disqualified them in another event claims XY but many are suspicious of their motives...imo the issue of genotype is unsettled. Perhaps the athletes will agree to a transparent test.

Not surprised MAGAs are arguing both sides of this issue. On one side, there's always a clear distinction between male and female. On the other side, sometimes there isn't and then you just go with your gut reaction as to what sex a person is. As far as I know, the chromosomal (genotypic) sex of this boxer has not been released.
