So, he has to play where Kincaid plays most of the time? I don't think I like that.
I wish Odunze would fall far enough to make a play for him. (I presume he is WR3.)
I'd gamble on Thomas' traits, but even he is probably out of reach.
I think Legette is the next best play at WR that is likely to be there at #28, but I think Franklin might be their pick.
Read an article comparing Franklin to Diggs. And Worthy might be an option, but neither of them is a big X.
Gimme Legette, Polk, Burton, Walker, Baker...etc. I'm gonna put my confidence in the FO. Wouldn't be surprised Brady gets Thomas nor surprised at McD getting Latu. Hoping for the latter myself.

I get anxiety
Thought you might be a closet Patriots fan. Yes I know he doesnt coach them any more !
Feel my trauma.
We talk about trading a 1st to get something key this year
Honestly I just dont have that much faith in the organization yet for trading ahead.
Trading around , sure , Have to since IMO
But Buffalo Bills lol
Should be able to grab two players of influence this year , will make plays coming season. Hoping for some real developmental gems in later rounds (11) picks
I agree McBeanes wants two second round picks. I think that depends on where they stand by the time pick for #27 comes in lol
But can we keep our next years first please ?
How's this? BRANDON BEANE will get us 4 picks within the 1st 100. Latu, Sweat and two WRs...it shall Beane.

He’s a precise route runner who can take the top off of a defense. Has great acceleration and changes up his speeds on routes making him deceptive.
He’s obviously thin and I worry about press on him in the NFL but he did fine with it in college. He’ll also have to expand his route tree as well so he is not an immediate guy and may never be a true # 1 but he’ll be a really high end 2 or low level 1 in the NFL and I can live with that at the end of round 1.
People on this board expect 1,000 yards rookie year and it’s not going to happen. Diggs, Cook, Kincaid are gonna get the bulk with Shakir, Samuels, Knox getting their share as well.
If we get 40-50 catches for 700 yards I’ll consider that a win for any rookie we decide to draft
Which is why we need to get Latu 1st. I'm gonna trust BB to get a good complimentary duo of WRs. I could go with several options. I gotta stop re-reading all the profiles and just relax til the draft. I would bet money BB will create at least 2 additional picks for day 2. I would gladly use next yrs. 1st.

Where did I say it was Morse?
Do me a favor. Keep an open mind. Watch the last drive, starting at 6:40:
1st play -- 6:40 -- McGovern stonewalled. Morse chips NOBODY and immediately moves to the 2nd level. It's the miscommunication we heard about all season between McGovern and Morse.
2nd play -- 7:42 -- Yes, Dawkins left on and island against Jones. McGovern singled inside. O'Cyrus stays inside to help who? Morse. For those who understand the intricacies of O-Line play... you NEVER want Dawkins singled up on a player like Jones on a passing down. You want McGovern to slide protection left and confidence in Morse to handle his own on the interior. They didn't do that. Why do you think that is?
3rd play -- 8:27 -- Right Tackle and Right Guard singled up. Help on Morse's side again. Morse holds his block (with help), but the right side gets blown up on singles, forcing Josh to roll right and throw the ball away.
Center was the weak link last year. You can see this every game. We cut Morse and he signed for $5M/yr by the Jags, who are overpaying everyone.
Feel free to argue that Center isn't important, but the money tells you the value of what we had and why we made a change.
I agree and heard quite a bit of talk about the communication issue. I also believe Edwards is actually a better LG than McGovern. Running left this year is gonna be bread and butter. Also, I think Cyrus is gonna become dominant thanks to the schooling he got from the likes of Wilkins.

When we land Latu, Sweat and Maason Smith, we'll forget about Reddick. He's due for an injury. I really wanted Huff.

Seems like they are working backwards. See who they like later and would be content in selecting at that point and leave the higher picks open to what they take. I think normally they have early rounders in later in the process as well.
Only 2 picks in the top 127 could be why and that really sucks.

or a Safety? I'm beginning to think the hole there could be solved by bringing Hyde back next year.
There's also been talk about Simmons being available post draft. I wouldn't mind Hyde back. I do however think we can find 2 quality prospects later in the draft...hopefully.

I have warmed up to Mitchell. I'm not sure he has a single elite trait but his all around package plus his combine numbers make me think there is upside there to be a true #1. The only thing is I don't know if he'll be on our board if the reported work ethic/football character issues are true. That is one factor that the Bills have simply not been willing to look past.
If this looks to be a thing he won't be the pick. I like Bleacher Report scouting reports and one thing I like to look for is the comments that the prospect looks to make himself available to the QB. To me that is a must have work ethic.

But are they willing to drop down to 44 and miss out on their WR. If they are open to DT as the pick at 44 than I agree but if their looking solely at WR like a lot of people think 44 might be too big of a dropOr let's say Chop or Darius are there at 28...Would AZ, move up from 35 for 77 or 90?
Or would GB 41 and 88?
ATL. for 43 and 79?
Or even dropping 3 spots to SF for a late 3rd comp. pick?
Like I said in a post before, my ideal is moving up maybe 2 spots with TB for a 4th (Latu) and next years 1st to GB for 41 and 88. I'd throw back a 5th to make that happen.
We end up with 4 picks in the top 100, plus rds. 4-7 to find those hidden gems at CB/S and OL.
Latu
Sweat
2WRs then BPA the rest of the way.

If the Bills move up and give up their first next year to move up to the teens to get Brian Thomas they still have:2nd,3rd, 4th, 4th(Davis comp pick), 5th, 5th(Floyd Comp pick), 6th, 6th(Basham trade). I think the Bills could live with that. I don’t think they want to dip beyond that
I'm looking at it a little differently. Sure use next years 1st,but do it to get a 2nd and 3rd. There are a few teams with 2 of both. If I'm moving up in the 1st, it's only gonna be a couple of spots where I can use a 4th.

I don't follow this sh!t anywhere NEAR the way you guys do, so forgive the dumb question.
If there's no trading up or down, you're saying Latu in the first, Legette in the second. Bills don't have a third, much to Beane's consternation. So that means Sweat is going in the fourth? Would he last that long?
I should have added the caveat of BB using next years 1st to create another 2nd and 3rd. We won't sit idly by from 60 to 128.
-
If I'm BB, I'M trading a 4th to TB and grabbing Latu. If it weren't for the injury history...prior to 2 years of being the best DE in the country, he'd be a top 10 pick.
There's no DE even in the same ballpark. Diggs may have a pro bowl year and be back in 25. Miller won't. Latu would be a steal.
I could live with McConkey and Walker. Combining Latu with Groot and A.J while learning from Von...yum.

I'm all in on WR in round 1, but I'll NEVER be against investing in the O-line.
It's not as exciting, but a better O-line lifts the entire offensive unit. As long as we're not continuing to ignore the offense, I'll be fine.
But after listening to the radio, it looks like there's at least a dozen Olimen worthy of higher rd. picks. We gotta dress, what 46-53? We should concentrate on impact players and not players for other teams to poach...JMO We have an almost entire Oline in waiting. We need a Bruce Smith, Eric Moulds/Lee Evans or Leonard Smith.
I say F=it and use next year's 1st to do it. We need to make an extra 2nd and 3rd this year!

Gimme:
Latu
Legette
Sweat
Burton and/ or Walker
M. Smith and do what you want after this..
Javon Solomon...
Cedric Johnson
J. Crumedy
Feel free to throw in a couple Safeties and CBs.
-
I voted NO....However I would trade next years 1st to one of the teams with two 2nds and two 3rds....and, if there's say a Chop or QB sitting there at 28,
I'm looking to trade a couple of spots to SF for one of their compensatory 3rds and taking Legette.
That would give us:
31 SF
41 GB
60
88 GB
100? SF
128
133
6 picks through 4 rounds. This is the year for BB to really build a quality young core for the future. Worth no. 28 next year? Hell yeah!

One can argue DT is more of a need than WR as of now.
But KC went through Baltimore and SF which are 2 of the top defenses in the league.
Point being is we're not gonna beat KC with defense. We have to outscore them and the only way that happens is by giving JA17 all the weapons he needs while he's in his prime.
K.C.should have never got to Balt. We should have won by 2 scores. The drops killed us and Bass couldn't stop turtling.

Just listening to BB on the radio. I'd be willing to bet we get Trey back by June 3rd for maybe a 3rd of the money we saved post June 1st.
( 9 mil.) I may be wrong, I can't remember if he said 9 or 10.
Hey, I'm all for it.

You seem to be poaching some other teams draft picks to make that happen. Sweat is early day 2 probably. Smith won't get to round 4. Latu is a first round pick. Javon Solomon probably day 2. Gonna wait and use fifth round picks on WR again, Sean?
I believe Beane will create picks. There's no way he goes from 60 to 128 sitting on his hands. This draft is huge in establishing a good solid core on both sides.
Since there are a few teams with more than one pick in rds. 2 and 3, I can see him selling next years 1st to create another 2nd and 3rd.
Latu/Murphy 28
Sweat 41
Burton 60
Walker 88
Smith 128

I think they are comfortable with Rapp and Edwards at the safety and will likely bring in a rookie for depth and competition while Hamlin and Lewis are primary backups and special teams players. But I do think this team needs rotational DT's. The Bills usually carry 5 DT's with 4 active on game day. Right now the Bills have 2 on the roster. Campbell would be a great add he will be 38 but is actually coming off a solid season with 7 sacks and good advanced metrics. I think DT is going to have some depth added as I can't see them going into the draft needing to grab 2-3 bodies there.
I'd be stoked if they could draft Sweat and Maason Smith. Oliver, Jones, Johnson, Sweat and Smith....(who can play inside or out.)
Miller, Groot, A.J., Latu and Javon Solomon. That's 10 Dline.
Maybe later in the draft we can P.S. stash guys like Cedric Johnson and Crumedy.
I'm hoping for a shift in Defensive philosophy. ie: 4-3 base and sending a LB on every play...or a 5-2-4....and/or more line stunts. I pray that McD at some point realizes that we have to be able to play both zone and man. He's gonna have to trust those 1 on 1 match ups at some point if he wants to get pressure up front.
I really want to see some innovation and freshness to the defense, especially week to week and opponent specific.

Yes he had a neck injury prior to transfer to UCLA. The Leighton Vander Esch saga gives me some trepidation here.
Hopefully that's why he slides within a couple of picks. 2021 missed due to neck injury and couldn't get cleared for 22. Went to UCLA and crushed it for 2 yrs.
This guy is gonna be on the ESPN a ton this year. That whole line is gonna get nasty. We need to establish a very good young core on the Dline this year!

No matter what happens in the draft, im sticking with my theory that the bills offense needs to be better than their defense. We need an offense that just scores drive after drive. We also need an offense (much like kc) that regardless how much they're down, they can come right back and win. Kc has done this since Mahomes took over. It's how they always win. As soon as a team thinks they got em, well, they don't
I for one am not worried about the offense. I'm sure Beane isn't done. Nobody can predict what he'll do at the draft. And...I'd like to mention the huge number of game changing drops last season, including the last game played. 2 sources of those are gone. Cook will get better catching hopefully and I won't post the replay off the Diggs drop. F..in brutal
We should have beat K.C. by 2 scores. We need to hope we hit on Impact type of DL players. If McD wants to try to stick to rush 4, he better have the horses cause with the likely line up in the secondary as it stands, we're gonna need it. Look how SF built their line. They had good success in the 1st half of the SB. Spags adjusted in the 2nd half and Wilkes didn't.
We're gonna be forced to blitz a lot more and there's a fine line with that.
I digress, gummy kicking in.

To get this out of the way: this isn't me claiming that I have any special juice about what's going in the war room. It also isn't an absolute path. If a player who has been forecasted in the top 10-15 is there for the taking in the 20s, I am even for a (reasonable) trade up. If Jared Verse, Brian Thomas or Adonai Mitchell (make your pick of who you think WR4 in the draft is) or whoever you think is an instant game wrecker, you take them.
However, as is often the case, I am seeing a bit of a glut around pick 20 on most mocks and Big Boards where plays transition from Week 1 Gamechanger to Week 1 Effective Starter. The truth is, with Beane at work, I don't think that there are any massive glaring immediate needs on the roster: Curtis Samuel can play outside enough that it's not critically dire. Epenesa, Groot and Miller are (in theory) a recent starting DE rotation. They have plenty of depth at LB, have theoretical starters in the secondary, the O-line is mostly intact, RB room is pretty full, and TE doesn't need more reinforcement.
Basically, while I think there are several places where the Bills could upgrade, there is at least a theoretical veteran that a rookie would need to take the job from. However, a lot of those contracts are short term, set to expire by 2026 and the team is already over the cap for 2025. If we can't get a gamewrecker, would we say no to another 3rd or 4th round pick if Beane lets someone trade in from the back end?
Some mocks have us trading to 26 (for a 4th) and getting Latu. NFL.com pro comparison...T.J.Watt. We need that and it could be a HR....for years.
