  1. The NFL flexed the Jets-Dols game to 4 PM, while the Bills and Pats play at 1 PM. If the Pats win, the Jets will probably roll over so the Dols win the division. If the Bills win, the Jets likely play hard (and still probably lose). The upshot of this all is the Pats don't make the playoffs since the Ravens won't lose to the Jags.

I just had this conversation with one of my co-workers who is a Pats fan (poor thing). I have been saying for a couple of years the NFL has become the Bob & Jerry show (Kraft/Jones). He is now saying moving the Jets/Dolphins game is a conspiracy against the Pats!

I guess everyone has their own perspective.

  2. The gunner on Oakland #33 was beating the double team all day on punts. I noticed on the last punt they put one of our guys closer to Roscoe to block that SOB and Roscoe was actually able to field the ball and gain some yards. If someone has a tape of the game it would be interesting to see who was attempting to block this guy.

  3. Was it me or did it seem as though Stroud was being tackled or held each time he penetrated. There was one time in particular that he was behind both the center and guard but couldn't get to Garrad because the guard was holding his jersey and the center had his arms around his waist. Even Tasker "kind-of" mentioned it but not as if it was a penalty........... It just seemed like there was a lot of holding going on in the center of the line all day.

  4. He hasn't left. He currently wears #94 for us. Lines up @ RDE a lot.

And how many sacks do you think he might have if on an obvious passing situation we blitzed leaving #94 single teamed instead of getting help from the RB consistently?

Watching the Dallas - Philly game the other night, when Philly got up by a couple of scores they put constant pressure on the Dallas Wonderboy, pro-bowl bound Romo and all of a sudden he looked like every other young quarterback in the league running for his life. I really believe we should consider more pressure on critical 3rd down situations.

  5. Long time lurker, first time posting. I have not seen a post discussing this topic.

The one thing that really sticks out from the past several weeks is we have consistently rushed our 4 defensive lineman regardless of the situation. There have been no corner blitzes, nearly no safety, linebacker, or zone blitzes, no run blitzes. Nada. In the Tennessee game we were playing against a rookie quarterback and never once made him think quickly. I just don't understand with the great secondary we have why we chose to let VY sit back and survey the field.

    It makes me crazy. :P

I know you live and die by the blitz, but just once in a while use it to try to create confusion and a possible turnover.

    Lurker mode back on..... :P
