  2. from PFF

    Pros
Very quick first step for a player of his size
Has a baseline for a variety of pass-rush moves
Has the length to play 3-4 DE
Hand usage is quick despite also very long length
Good natural power in his upper body

    Cons
Not a lot of weight in his lower half despite weighing 340 pounds — ankles/calves are skinny
High-waisted build makes it tougher for him to sit in his stance with leverage/power
Pops up quickly out of his stance

  3. Thought it would be interesting to list who the Bills get based on various mock drafts by the "experts".  Here is what I've found so far.  Of course a lot depends on who goes 1-29.

    NFL.com
Eric Edholm - CB Trey Amos
Chad Reuter - EDGE Mike Green
Mike Band - S Malaki Starks
Lance Zierlein - EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku
Charles Davis - CB Maxwell Hairston
Bucky Brooks - DT Kenneth Grant
Daniel Jeremiah - DT Kenneth Grant

    The Athletic
Beat Writers Draft - CB Jahdae Barron (pick by Joe Buscaglia)

    PFF
Mason Cameron - CB Trey Amos

    CBS
Jonathan Jones - CB Maxwell Hairston
Ryan Wilson - S Malaki Starks
R.J. White - DL Walter Nolen
Pete Prisco - CB Shavon Revel

    ESPN
Peter Schrager - S Malaki Starks
Beat Writers Draft - DT Kenneth Grant (pick by Alaina Getzenberg)

NBC Houston’s Aaron Wilson reports that an NFL team assigned Texas WR Isaiah Bond a first-round draft grade after Bond ran a 4.34-second 40-yard dash at Texas’ Pro Day.

Wilson also reports that the Bills have scheduled three separate meetings with Bond, including a Thursday dinner, a private Friday workout and a trip to the Bills’ facility in Orchard Park. Bond is also scheduled to meet with the Browns and Packers, and will participate in the Falcons’ local prospect day. The Bills traded back five spots in the 2024 NFL draft, allowing the Chiefs to take the speedy Xavier Worthy, while the Bills later drafted Keon Coleman. Worthy caught 30 more passes than Coleman last year, and the Bills are still searching for a speedy perimeter receiver. Perhaps, Bond is their man.

  5. I think the Bills FO looked at 2024 as a rebuilding year.  They drafted Coleman hoping he would grow into the role.  Separation is a skill that can be learned.  Coleman does have great body control, which is something that should be able to translate into doing the little things to shake off a player.  Now he still has to learn that skill, and obviously hasn't mastered it yet.

Davante Adams couldn't separate much early in his career either.  At some point (I think it was after year 2) he decided he was going to buckle down and learn it, and he did.

Lots of guys MIGHT be able to learn how to separate, but only some of them do. Just like lots of big strong armed guys with accuracy problems MIGHT learn how to be more accurate.  Josh Allen did learn it, but not in his rookie year.  Wil Levis has not learned it, and neither has Anthony Richardson.

The potential is there for Coleman.  But he has not realized it yet.

Can someone please scream in Oliver’s face before the game that he’s too small and not good enough….so he turns into Aaron Donald for a few hours. Thanks!

    I’m calling it:

Rasul is due.  Tipped ball house call!

KC has all their breaks come to an abrupt end.

4 turnovers in the 1st half.  Bills go up 28-3

March down the field to start the 3rd quarter and score to bury KC

35-3.  And this game is OVER!  and it is - for the Oilers.

  7. Don't underestimate the importance of fantasy football in how people look at things.  In my league Lamar out scored Josh by 77 points.  Henry outscored Cook by 78 points.  For a lot of people, that's all really know about football.  And for those people, the discussion is over - Ravens are better.

Frankly, if Jackson does get MVP, I think that is the biggest reason.

  8. Saw a post that the Ravens claimed him.  He can't be awarded to a team until after the Super Bowl, but since he's a free agent and would likely sign elsewhere, he would count on their free agent gains/lost.  If he does sign with somebody it would have to be for very cheap I would think, but if it does help them with picking up a draft pick, even a 7th rounder, it was a shark move.

After next week's game Josh will be second place again behind Lamar Jackson.

But the week after, Allen will regain the top spot.

I can't call it Josh, they got my wife and kids

does it look like the guy standing behind the ref is pulling out a microphone to listen in on it?

Well, he reconsidered his reconsiders on that TD throw to Coleman.  I LOL’d at the Twitter clip captioned “***** it - Coleman is down there somewhere”

The thing is, I don’t think Josh has ever played with a receiver in the NFL who could be counted on to go up and get a jump ball like Keon can.  And it was pretty well thrown where it’s Keon’s ball, or no one’s ball.

I'm not entirely sure it was supposed to be Keon's ball.  It was going straight to Ty Johnson and Coleman just managed to get there first.  Doesn't diminish Keon's play at all, but I am curious who Josh thought he was throwing it to.

  11. If next Sunday the schedule was Bills at Chiefs, I'd expect the Bills to be a slight favorite.  If it was Ravens or Steelers at Chiefs, I'd expect Chiefs to be a slight favorite.  Lions or Eagles at Chiefs might also see the road team favored.  Anybody else would see the Chiefs with larger spreads.

A healthy Hollywood Brown coming onto the field might change things some.  Other than that I don't see any big positive needle mover for the Chiefs.  Then it will depend on how injuries shake out between now and the playoffs.

He is fast, but not WR fast. He ran a 4.54 at the combine. I realize speed isn't everything, but you want safeties who can run down running backs when the coverage is blown. For example, Bishop ran a 4.45. (N.B., Simmons is even slower than Hamlin.)

Henry takes time to build up to top speed - that hurts your 40 time.  But once you are chasing him I don't recall seeing anybody catch him from behind.
