Belichick hasn’t won a playoff game in 5 years. He has a losing record over his last 4 years. He deserved to get fired a couple years ago.

McDermott has won a playoff game 3 straight years. You know how many coaches have won a playoff game 3 straight years? Andy Reid, end of list.

Thats why I don’t fire Sean McDermott. I can be critical of him, he definitely makes mistakes. Yes he has Josh Allen, but Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes aren’t the only franchise QBs in the NFL.

I’ve maintained that there will be a discussion to be had on McDermott whenever he misses the playoffs or gets eliminated without advancing in the playoffs.

Honestly this is a pretty dumb conversation RIGHT NOW. The level of expectation is ridiculous. Things will eventually play themselves out. McDermott likely won’t win a playoff game every season.

To be fair.. the talent level on this team has been quite high recently.

I’m gonna preface this post by acknowledging that this will be widely unpopular. People will say I am having a knee jerk reaction to the last few weeks.

But, with the shortcomings of the offense, not just this season but last as well, I gotta think the blame does solely lie with just McD and Dorsey. Allen has clearly been an issue too. Missing open opportunities because he either looks and throws right away or simply only looks for Diggs. Allen has also committed a ludicrous amount of turnovers. Situationally, he’s been pretty poor this year when it comes to decision making.

On the other end of things, he’s getting older. He will be 28 next season and is only continuing to take more lumps. He will only get slower, more injury prone and probably not progress mentally. Look at Cam around the 8 year mark. Really started to take a dive. Josh will be going into his 7th season next year.

If this team continues on this current trajectory, i think it’s fair to assume there will be fairly significant changes not only personnel-

wise, but coaching-wise as well with a very new OC at the least. With josh seemingly reaching the end of his prime, is that really a time we want to be reloading/re-building?

My thought is, while Josh still has value, is trade him. I’d love if we could to the bears for their 2 firsts next year, one in 2025 and a second in 2024. We use those picks to draft a QB as well as Marvin Harrison jr. We could rebuild with a QB on a rookie contract, get the best WR in college to go with Diggs and Dalton Kinkaid, and on top of that we’d be able to use the other picks to build up our o line. We focus on offense next year and shift to defense the following.

Now all of this would be contingent on new GM, new staff.

im saddened to propose this because I love josh. Seems like a great dude and great for Buffalo. But at a certain point, we gotta start thinking that maybe Josh isn’t the one to win us a SB.

    Chuck your spears as appropriate.

I am not the biggest Allen fan but I am certainly not entertaining any trades involving him at this point.. even though he is really testing my patience.

I dont think McDermott deserves to be fired after 1 bad season. I don’t think it’s a smart way to run your franchise.

Belichick has won 6 SB as a head coach.  Boston is calling for him to be fired because he hasn’t done anything since Brady’s departure.  Perspective.  Too much losing has gone on in this city for much too long.  It’s accepted.

    Pour another one armchair quarterback

Why are you making this personal between you and me?  Why are you such an Allen groupie?  I didn’t mean to criticize your, brother? Is he?  What an agonizing post on your part.  You don’t like someone else’s opinion so your mantra is to resort to personal attacks that are completely useless.  I have a career and a loving family.  I don’t need to look up to a jock for inspiration, or as a litmus test for my accomplishments.  You, a grown man, brought me back to a junior high school cafeteria.  Grow up.

If you want to be a water carrier for a player that has not won anything, go right ahead.
You must have been one of those fans that hailed Allen as the greatest quarterback that ever lived because he was dynamic for a few years.  Forget the hall of fame, he’s already the greatest to ever do it.  That’s what people were posting on here.

Enjoy this year’s season ending loss yet again.  You deserve it.

Imagine being a fan that has a MVP candidate at quarterback for the last four years and then starting to doubt him as soon as there’s a blip in the road says more about you than him

You talk about him like he’s your close family.  This is a result oriented business.  How dare we doubt the guy/team.  Perhaps you should raise your standards because this team has not won anything to deserve what you said.  Allen is making bad decisions with the football for quite a while now.  It’s costing the team games.  That’s just a blip.  Ok.  The lovable losers.

Any day the Josh Allen led Buffalo Bills play a football game, I like their chances.

That being said, this game is one that I feel like either breaks our season, or gives you nothing in return (aside from the W).

If we win, regardless of how it looks, we’ll still have our doubts and apprehensions.

I haven’t looked too much into the Broncos statistics this year, but from what I’ve heard in passing, I’m going to focus much more on their last 3 games than the entire season.

Not sure how any Bills’ fan can be confident about Allen now.  If the Bills lose to the Broncos, this season is officially a mope fest.

Is there a leader on this team?  Not expecting Tom Brady, but someone has to step up and take charge on the field and on the sidelines because this team is soft.

Even the Jets are ahead of us in the hunt.  I said this game was practically a must win.  I also said if the Bills lost this game a WC is unlikely and the Bills would need to win the division to make the playoffs.  There is zero room for error now and we are going to need help.  We lose the head to head against a wild card competitor.  We have too many conference losses against other teams in the hunt.  Buffalo is likely going to have to win out or lose maybe one and get some help.

Yes I know 4 of those teams are from the same division and they will somewhat beat each other up, but we still have no room for error.

Dude you’re reaching.  This is not a good team and it is poorly coached.  Even if they make the playoffs they will get their behinds handed to them so what’s the point?  To hope they get hot and win the SB?  The Miracle happened on 34th street, not in Buffalo.

This team has too many things to overcome.

I will admit to being a little entertained by this last month of laughable coaching, culminating in this rock bottom press conference. If the team isn't going to be good, they might as well be hilariously bumbling. Maybe it will even tip Pegula over the edge.

The cherry on top was him throwing the challenge flag on an obvious incompletion.  It did get some laughs across the country I’m sure.. and a forfeited timeout.

Never thought I'd be saying this but it hit me tonight going through twitter and looking back the last few games and realizing how many times I've shouted at the TV for Josh to run..

The coaches and Beane, for a cpl years now, have openly talked about limiting Josh on the ground and most agreed but we're taking 1 of his biggest assets as a QB away.

Teams don't need to spy as much, there has been so many plays this year where I'm screaming for him to run, never have I in his career prior to this year.

Today again,  there was 4 -5 plays and multiple in previous  games where he would've gotten positive yardage, possibly big gains but he holds the ball and majority of the plays end up incomplete, sack or int.

I sorely miss the Josh Allen that'd see a lane and would instantly take off every time. This not only helps our O but puts the D on skates and opens up passing lanes.

Why is this happening? Has it been coached out of him? I can't believe I'm saying this even but it's killing us on O. We have no identity on O. Let 17 LOOSE FFS, he looks like he's not even entertaining taking off when there's a big lane and in the past would result in a big play

Hecaveraged 7.8 rushes per game last year. This year he has 29 in 7 games, about 4.1 per game and most are qb sneaks. It's definitely hurting the o

Yeah let Josh loose.  Let him take hits from linemen trying to run for a high average.  He’ll get carted off sooner rather than later because of it but at least you will be happy.  The coaches have no idea about letting Allen loose.  Perhaps you should get in touch with them.  Is anyone here close with a member of the coaching staff?

    Ciao

I care about discussing a topic.. not about washing sports trophies with morality.  Looks like you confused the two and disappeared.

Evidently a lot of people care about having moral character... not our fault you lack it and don't care.

Do they give a trophy for morality in the NFL, NHL, MLB?  How about in the Olympics?  Do they give out G, S & B medals for that?

So if some player was busted for PEDs on the Bills or Sabres, you would reject a championship that same year because of it?

Colts are getting absolutely screwed right now by the refs.

Refs pick up the flag on the center being 5 yards down field on the final Pats drive.

Hate watching the NFL now.  It's not rigged. It's just awful.

These threads are typically made by perennial losers who hang their hat on things like “It’s a rigged league!” or “The team got hosed by the refs so it doesn’t count!”  or one of my favorites… “I would rather lose than win if a player was caught cheating (PEDs, etc..)

Total joke.  Every sport has bad calls and some players get preferential treatment.  I saw it with Gretzky, Jordan, Magic, Brady, Bonds, Rice.. list goes on.  GTFOI

  13. I don’t even know what the point is.. holding these press conferences before and after games.  If they lost “well we have to watch the film and play better, coach it better.. have to do a better job, make the smart plays, take the yards when there is an opening.  We have to correct our mistakes, less penalties..” and on and on and on like some recording.   If they win “We’re gunna enjoy this one tonight and then get to work on our next opponent.. tough challenge so we have to be prepared.”

    YAWN

The time to talk trash and back it up is on the field.  This team is not ready.  They don’t even  seem like they’re close to being ready.

NOBODY deserves my respect who has to cheat to win games, plain and simple.

McDermott may be incapable of winning us  championship nor will ever get to 300 wins, but ***** the man never cheats.

Lol.. what?  Do you dismiss the Steelers rings because the entire steel curtain was on steroids?  Should the 49er rings in the 80s be wiped out because their receivers admitted to using “stick ‘em” on their gloves? Nobody cares..  Joe Montana once said “if you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying”.  I’m sure that the people of Buffalo would reject a Stanley Cup or Lombardi trophy if some footnote nonsense was attached.  The only people who talk about/focus on those things are.. losers.

I thought the “experts” predicting like 9-8 records for the Bills was ludicrous but right now it’s a strong possibility.  They keep playing like this and I don’t see them winning the next 2 games.  Then, they “should” be able to beat Denver and the Jets at home.  The gauntlet of road games at Philly and KC followed by Dallas at home now seems hopeless.

Do you like this team’s chances vs the Jets defense?  Not sure.. still having flashbacks from Josh’s decision making from that debacle.  There is a tone that this fan base has.. this feeling like even if they lose.. “oh don’t worry.  They will be right there at the end.”  Not sure where this came from but I’m not buying it.  This group of guys does not deserve the benefit of the doubt.  Right now, I feel like that had an opportunity to win a ring a few years back.  KC shut the door and the Bills have been declining ever since.

This team always has an excuse.  Injuries, officiating, jet lag.. Josh’s new girlfriend is a distraction, McD lost his car keys.. and then there is the contingent who think that this is all rigged and the world is against the Bills.  There’s always a problem.
