He’s also thrown 4 ints in the red zone in his last two games. Throw in a fumble at his own goal line that was recovered by the Vikings for a TD at the end of the 4th QTR today.

Yeah I can’t figure it out at all. 🙄 You think that the coaching staff is encouraging Allen to take hits from LBs and Safeties when he runs? They promote the throws into double coverage when he has people running open in the flat too? Allen is immune to criticism.. I see that now. The poor throws, decisions and fumbles happened because he needs help? Hard to help a QB when he has mental lapses and throws directly to the other team multiple times.
-
So we’re back to the Tom Brady comparisons now? Call me crazy but can Josh make it to ONE damn Super Bowl?? We heap praise and list excuse after excuse as to why he threw a pick AND fumbled a snap on his own goal line that should have ended the game right there. It’s mistake after mistake and it’s been happening for weeks. He is routinely throwing to open CBs as if it is by design sometimes. I can’t figure it out. It’s starting to look like a mental issue.
-
You can tell that he takes a lot of pride in his play. He takes these games extremely hard but it is a result oriented business. Like I said.. he is the Bills best runner and passer. Any broken play? It’s Josh to the rescue with his legs. If he finds a way to settle himself down in big spots he should be fine. Easier said than done though.
-
You’re right. He looks focused. Especially in crucial spots. I’m glad you took the time to clear that up for the rest of us.
-
So you were satisfied with Allen’s play today? Yes or no question. Pointless to entertain this. Why try?

Save the supercilious tone for your kids Happy. You don’t get to tell people “what kind of forum” this is, or how to root for a team. I saw the entire game. Josh made some great plays.. he also made plays that make you question if he should be in concussion protocol. If you don’t like it that’s too bad. Take your frustration out on him not fellow fans. The silver lining is that this wasn’t a playoff game.
-
Fans have a tendency to be prisoners of the moment, myself included. Josh has a lot to prove as does the coaching staff. I saw the replay of that last throw and I have no idea what he was doing. It’s as if he just threw it to throw it without a care in the world. Extremely underthrown and behind the receiver. I don’t think Josh has an explanation either. That’s all.

Nobody in any sport will care about what you did in a game if you make terrible mistakes in big spots. That sort of thing is good for stat junkies, that’s about it. Next thing you know we will be talking about how many yards Allen threw in garbage time.
-
Yeah no one is talking about replacing Josh.. but he needs to get it together or this will be another lost season. His style of play won’t last long.. might as well win a damn Super Bowl. Not to be king of the obvious here but that’s how I see it. How long can Allen keep taking hits when he runs for first downs?
-
Someone was referring to settling things with Allen and his girlfriend as a distraction and blamed McDermott. Maybe I misunderstood.
-
Both McD and Josh should have some tough questions thrown their way in the post game. This is somehow McD’s fault?? Say what?
-
The Bills rely on Allen more than Miami did with Marino. Allen is their best running attack and his arm is better than Marino’s. It’s the Josh Allen show all game long. Unfortunately he makes bad decisions and inexplicable throws just like Marino did in the playoffs. You can’t win that way.

Excellent take. Agree. No one said playing QB is easy.. have to take a step back sometimes and analyze the defense to find the weak spot. All the gunslinger crap just makes for some highlight on sports shows.. but winning Super Bowls? Not really.
-
This was a nasty loss today.. Allen has a tendency to go for hero throws on too many downs. When it works everyone fawns all over it but forcing the football over and over.. it’s the gunslinger syndrome, and it leads to erratic play. He threw into double coverage and behind the intended receiver to boot. It may be adrenaline.. I dunno if he gets too amped or what but you have to keep a level head in moments like these. It’s what all the great ones have.
-
There is some blame to go around but Josh has brain freezes in big spots.. you can only hope that this will pass but right now it’s reoccurring. I can’t explain his decision making. His throws have been off as well.

NFL Week 10 - Vikings at Bills post game thread

For those that disagree… how is this loss NOT on Josh?? Who’s fault is it? The red zone ints just continue to pile up. -
Erratic throws especially in big spots. I’m not sure if he was concussed recently but he is make extremely poor decisions. The pick to lose the game vS the Vikes was a poor decision and a piss poor throw well behind the intended receiver. At this point.. he could be the best and the worst QB in football from one drive to the next and that’s not a recipe for winning big games. The concentration just isn’t there. If he is injured then taking a week off is not outrageous.

God doesn’t care about a football game.
