  1. How do you know the challenge would fail? The announcers were even arguing he had 2 feet down before the ball came out and they certainly weren't pulling for the Bills in that game.
  2. I do know that giving a QB basically forever to find a hole against a secondary without both starting safeties, Dane and Tre is probably going to end worse than if you put pressure on the QB, which is supposed to be a strength of this team this season.
  3. I'll make a statement. Given some of challenges I've seen him make that I could immediately tell he was going to lose from my couch, the fact he didn't challenge the Gabe catch/no catch, especially when the announcers were arguing it appeared he may have had 2 feet down before the ball came out, makes zero sense to me. That is not the play you do when you have a secondary decimated by injuries. Period. You do not let the opposing QB sit back and find the hole in the coverage, which is exactly what they did. 3rd and 22 is when the pass rushers should be pinning their ears back and going after the QB with additional pressure. They did the exact opposite of what the should've done. If you get burned by the blitz, you say they beat it and made a good play. What you don't do is let the QB sit back there and throw a 40 yard completion. If they had brought pressure, Tua never has the time to make that throw most likely.
  4. Putting the ball in the air there makes zero sense anyway. Josh is bigger than most linebackers. If we can't get less than a yard in those situations running the football having 3 tries at it, we have problems. Being that close makes throwing the ball harder because the defense is compressed into a smaller area and the likelihood of an INT goes as well.
  5. I don't even want to see the injury report this week.
  6. Josh in the shotgun on 2nd and goal from inside the one isn't a problem for you? A 6'5" 250 lb QB can't get less than a yard on a QB sneak with 3 cracks at it? And given some of the stupid challenges I've seen McD make, to not challenge the Gabe catch/no catch is mind boggling. Even the announcers were arguing he had 2 feet down before the ball came out. That play potentially puts points on the board. It's not like it was just challenging some 5 yard catch at your own 30, which wouldn't even be a first down. 3rd and 22 with a 3-man rush is on the coaching staff. Having Josh in the shotgun on 2nd and goal from inside the one is on the coaching staff. Not challenging the Gabe catch/no catch considering some of the dumb challenges McD has done, especially when the announcers were arguing he had 2 feet down before the ball came out, is on the coaching staff. Making Josh throw the ball 63 times in a game is on the coaching staff.
  7. I thought he had it too, so that's another screw up by the coaching staff. They had the ball, it's not like Miami was hurrying to the line to snap a play. I've seen McD challenge some clear head scratchers where it's like you immediately know we lost a timeout. But here, it was like OK, on to the next play.
  8. 3-man rush on the 3rd and 22 was the play of the game IMO. Indefensible with a secondary in the condition of the what the Bills is. I don't think Von was even in on the play. That ranks right up there with not playing press man, jam them at the line during 13 seconds. It shows a clear loss of situational awareness, often described as choking when it matters.
  9. Great stat. Bout sums up why we lost when just about every other stat line makes it look like we should've won by a comfortable margin.
  10. Which is strange considering Miami was able to run the ball and score on us in short yardage goal-to-go and it's our D that is supposed to be the better unit. Josh is bigger than most linebackers. He can't fall forward for less than a yard with 3 cracks at it? It's not that they can't do it, it's more of the coaching staff not having faith in the line and trying to get cute with play calling instead of lining up under center and running it right down their throat and getting a yard.
  11. Along with dumb play calling, IMO. 2nd and Goal from inside the one and Josh is in the shotgun? If you can't run a QB sneak a couple times for half a yard, we have much bigger problems.
  12. Very true and given the injuries we already had on the offensive side, I can't understand how they didn't know heat could be a major factor here for the remaining starters. The D was only on the field 18 minutes and gave up 21 points. Their D should've been the ones gassed, but because we were running a lot of short yardage gain plays, our own offensive game plan bit us in the backside.
  13. Outside of the scoreboard, the Bills dominated this game. Miami barely broke 200 yards of offense, had 15 first downs to our 31, and had the ball all of 18 minutes. We couldn't close the deal when we had the ball. Too many wasted opportunities.
  14. Play calling in key situations what a huge contributing factor. 3-man rush on 3rd and 22. 2nd and goal from inside the one and Josh is in the shotgun? C'mon man.
  15. Not true at all. Players that don't play in the cold are much more likely to be impacted by numbness in their hands and feet and also having more tightness and having a problem staying loose. Not to mention more likely having the burning feeling in their lungs when breathing the cold air heavily. You can't have it both ways, even though you apparently think you can. This was not the first time the Bills played Miami in Miami with it being late summer hot either.
  16. I was too disgusted to watch any postgame, but was McD or anyone asked about that bonehead defensive call? That was the play of the game IMO.
  17. Only rushing 3 when your secondary has been decimated by injuries defies logic. The last thing you want to do in that situation is give the opposing QB time to find the hole in the coverage.
  18. Still not an excuse. When the fish come to BUF in Dec and it's 30 degrees, do they get to blame a loss on the cold? Or will it be due to how they performed on the field?
  19. It doesn't matter what back you have if the person calling the plays has no faith in the O-line to be able pick up less than a yard with 3 cracks at it. You could have the Fridge, Earl Campbell, or Christian Okoye back there and it wouldn't matter. Moss has the size to be the goal line back and he's impressed me with a lot of the carries he's had this year.
  20. I don't think they're trash, but I don't think they're anywhere as good as their record either. If you can barely break 200 yds of offense against a team with basically 1/2 their defensive starters out, If I'm a Miami fan, I'm not thinking Super Bowl this year.
  21. I get maybe if it's like goal to go and 5+ yards. But less than a yard? Are you kidding me?
  22. Defies logic. It's like getting any pressure on the QB whatsoever never even crossed their mind. If you have a decimated secondary, the LAST thing you should be trying to do is to give the opposing QB time to find the hole in the coverage.
  23. Need less than a yard, Josh is in shotgun. What that tells me is Dorsey had no confidence in the line today. Miami ran it against us in goal to go yardage and has success. No reason why we can't do the same unless they have convinced themselves they can't. Hell, run 3 straight QB sneaks for crying out loud. You needed less than a yard.
  24. That was a 40+ yard gain that put them in scoring position because instead of bringing heat to take the pressure off a decimated secondary, we allow them to complete a bomb with 8 men in coverage. Clear coaching mistake. If Jackson, Poyer and Hyde are back there, you can probably get away with that. With what we have now, not so much and the coaches need to recognize that.
