Fired HC one-week bounce on the way for the Jets...

Is this really a thing or some kind of urban legend?   I'd like to see some stats on team wins after HC firing.

What I meant there is there is no "tell" about what play is coming based on formation, personnel grouping, shotgun vs under center. You might pick up on some gameflow stuff, sure. But he isn't showing you when they come to line "okay this is a passing first down" vs a rushing first down.

Alec Anderson reporting as eligible every other play kinda feels like a tell.

He was just as bad before the tackle where he briefly left the game.  It was an atrocious day for Josh, worst I’ve seen since he was a rookie.

Josh seemed frustrated that none of his mid to deep throws were connecting and eventually just started rolling the dice hoping the law of averages would come into effect.

  4. I'm so over this 12 man personnel.   It always telegraphs run, but even when you run play action with it you have two slow ass targets out there being blanket covered by 4 defenders.

They need to add in more Daboll offense with 4 wideouts or at least spread Kincaid out from the line of scrimmage and dial up more quick hitters with the occasional double move deep ball or seam routes.

With a reasonably healthy roster, I'd feel pretty good about our chances at victory. With...whatever this is we're about to roll out on Sunday, not so much.

Just to be clear, on defense, we're gonna be missing out best DT, a HOF edge rusher, an All-Pro WILL, our starting strong safety, and very possibly an All-Pro nickel and team captain MIKE. On offense, we're gonna be missing the only WR that has actually produced for us this season.

    I hate it.

I don't think Samuel has worked out how they thought he would (and I hoped he would) and they undervalued having  a better WR on the roster. Look I love the concept, but... We need a little more talent esp. Until Coleman gets more up to speed.

    That could be a while...🤣

Breer is pretty reliable he isn't a throw ***** to the wall guy. I'm a) surprised the Bills are even in to the point of enquiring; and b) encouraged that they are at least open to the idea of bringing a receiver in here who can help us outside.

Hope the Jets give up a 1st rounder for him.

The travesty in using Samuel like he’s Isiah Mckenzie

The Bills after 2 years still can't seem to figure out their offensive Identity.   Ever since they drafted Kincaid the story was they were going pivot to a heavy 12 personnel package offense, but then they still sign all these slot guys like Harty, Hines, and Samuel while we already have Shakir on limited snap count because of all the tight end sets we started running.   It makes no sense.  We end up just wasting money on guys we're never going to utilize.   Instead of going out and investing in one elite outside playmakers we went with the grab bag of sh*t approach and are just trying to throw stuff at the wall until something sticks.

One thing I miss about Daboll is he knew what identity he wanted his offense to have and ran with it to much success.

Edit: This isn't a criticism of Brady but more on Beane and his roster building and maybe the communication between the coaching staff and himself in that regard.

  9. I have a hard time believing we're talking about trading for an aging disgruntled receiver after we...traded away an aging disgruntled receiver.   So we're gonna pay big contracts for two divas instead of one?   Sounds like a recipe for success 😄

Bottom line, Beane fumbled the draft by not getting more weapons for Josh, and we should have kept Diggs if we're gonna go full circle into just trying to replace him with the same thing.

Yeah, at this point I don’t understand signing Samuel for so much.  He doesn’t even start because the coaching staff finally realized Shakir is best in the slot and he’s been like just a gadget player so far, and not that effective. Wasn’t he supposed to have 4.3 speed?  If so, it isn’t being utilized properly.  He’s not that elusive on those WR screens.

McBeane loves overpaying for gadget guys and then never utilizing them.   We saw it with McKenzie, Hines, Harty and now Samuel.

  11. I watched the all 22 myself.

Baltimore D had their corners in man coverage against our receivers almost every snap.  The lack of separation was astounding.

On the flip side our soft zone D left massive holes all over the field giving Lamar easy targets when he did want to throw.  Granted it's hard to not respect the threat of Henry, and LJ running the ball but it's not like the bills don't have equal threats in those departments.

Makes me wonder if the Bills shouldn't be playing some man coverage more, at least on the boundaries as I think corner is definitely a strength of this team.

That's possible, and he's had these questions asked about him before. But it is just a half season rental with zero commitment beyond this year. You take a chance that a change of scenery to a real contender with a real QB gets his mind back straight.

I know people praised Joe Flacco for his play down the stretch last year but a lot of that was just Amari Cooper making ridiculous contested catch after ridiculous contested catch downfield. Adding his skill set immediately transforms our offenses's biggest weakness into somewhat of a strength. This is a no brainer IMO if Cleveland is willing to punt on their season.

Contested catcher is our weakness?   I'd say our weakness is more not having someone who can get 2+ yards of separation.  Especially vs. man coverage.   Keon has been coming along in the contested catch department.
