A more dynamic do-it-all RB. I wouldn’t call Thurman a “power” RB, but he ran through a ton of arm tackles. Anyone Thurman like would be awesome.

I always thought Thurman's best skillset was his patience and field vision.  He had a great knack for letting plays develop, following blockers and finding the open seams.   Arguably it just takes a great OL to produce another Thurman.

  2. I personally would like us to upgrade our LB core.   Assuming we still have Leslie Frazier next year running a cover 2 still, it really asks a lot of our linebackers and IMO we've really been exploited the most in the middle of the field this season.   Tremaine Edmunds just hasn't been playing up to his potential and I think that's the one position we need an absolute playmaker right now.

    3) and 4) especially for me. Allen has turned into a superb thrower on intermediate (10-20 yrds) routes. I’d like to see the next guy incorporate more opportunities for deep passes though. Granted, that may necessitate getting a true “burner” type WR in the building, but Allen has shown he can make those deep throws easily (I think back to early in the season, where Sanders was utilized on deep patterns really well.)

Davis absolutely needs to be involved next year. He needs 90%+ of the offensive snaps. He’s proven everything he needs to prove.

I think the lack of the Bills deep passing this season more to do with our pass protection breaking down too quickly rather than lacking a burner WR.   Josh's YPA dropped from 7.9 in 2020 to 6.8 this season with only 8 passing plays over 40 yards which puts him well behind most of the other elite QBs in the league in those categories.  Opposing teams have probably adjusted their schemes more against the pass in fear of Josh Allen as well.

I do think that the coaches ask a lot of Tremaine and that is why he never makes splash plays or seems like he is always out of position. I think they ask him to do things that other backers aren't asked to do. And that's the thing. When you look at coaches tape etc, I think he is probably a very effective player, and that is where the "coaches love him, fans do not notion" comes from.

I will agree with you on this.   They do ask a lot of him.   You could see in the KC game especially it was hard for him to have eyes on Kelce,  McKinnon and Mahomes at the same time so on a lot of plays he would end up somewhere in the middle.   The second quarter of the game specifically he had 3 consecutive blown coverages first the pass to Kelcey over the middle, then another pass over the middle to Pringle and finally he let let Helaire run right by him for a 22yrd run.

I would rather him be decisive on a play, sometimes be wrong but sometimes make the huge play than always be 5yrds off no matter what leaving opposing teams just rip off 10 and 15 yard chunks in the middle of the field at will.

The game was a display of modern quarterbacking excellence that rarely has been seen in the NFL, dual excellence that probably never has been seen in a playoff game.  Mahomes and Allen performed superbly from the very beginning of the game, passing and running, confounding the opposing defenses.  But their excellence through three quarters was simply prelude.

It's truly remarkable how similar the stat lines of these two QBs are over the last two post season games.   The fact that Allen went into a hostile environment and did what he did is even more impressive to me than Mahomes.

Rematch! Something that PO's me is why are we always facing KC at Arrowhead vs. Orchard Park during the regular season?  Seems more fair that we should not have to go to their place twice in a row in consecutive seasons?  I get it that we lost home field advantage in the playoffs, but I'm getting tired of seeing that place.

I agree, I would much rather play them at home.  But I think finding success there in week 5 this season has boosted Josh Allen's confidence in his ability to play them on the road.   Unlike the carousel of QBs we had the last 20 years, JA doesn't get rattled under pressure.

Watching some the highlights on GMF it looks like we got beat numerous time with the Wr catching the ball coming across the field and then just out running our guys. Very similar to how we lost in Tampa ot. So frustrating.

And who's primary coverage area is the middle of the field?  #49.   The one person who is supposed to the bedrock of our defense is probably the weakest link.

The next level I’m thinking about is scoring 40 on a regular basis and not having Allen running the ball like Earl Campbell.

Allen showed tonight and last week that he doesn't need to run.   He's developed great field vision and decision making recently and has become an outstanding pocket passer

90% of his tackles are 5-10 yards downfield. He's the most overrated LB in Bills history. He's never made an impactful play in his life and he never will. We can do better. No way he's worth 14-17M. Let some other team be dumb enough to use him.

He would make a good referee.    It seems like he just floats around the field watching the game and jogs in at the end of plays to get a hand on people for the assist.

Edmunds played a solid game today. He was hitting and tackling. I don’t think anyone objectively can watch that game and come away with saying the Bills lost because of Edmunds play. It’s dog whistle scapegoating to blame this loss on one guy.

How many pass plays has he broken up in the past 2 years?  How many sacks?  He makes a lot of tackles because he's always out of position and has to chase people down, but he doesn't even do that very well most of the time.

A retractable dome is yesterday's solution, and quite frankly a little used expense. It was a beautiful day in Dallas last weekend and yet they still kept the roof shut.  They now have the glazing technology to create an outdoor experience while sitting indoors. Go to Minnesota or Los Angeles.  You'll swear you're sitting outside.

I agree with this sentiment.   If you're building a roof over your stadium just make it stationary and use the translucent roof tiles.   I'm not really a fan of the roll out grass fields in the dome stadiums either.   If you want a dome for your team just go with turf.

  12. Am I the only one that appreciates the low profile aesthetic of the current Highmark stadium?  Symmetrical with plenty of sunlight from all directions covering the field,  as opposed to stadiums like MetLife that stand like 30 stories high and you end up with half the field covered in shadow during day games.   Allegiant and Sofi stadiums are pretty damn impressive for domes though.

Not only that…anyone with half a brain who has watched NFL football knows that winning close games is typically a coin flip. The Bills losing 5 of them this year without a win is statistically improbable and not a sign that they “can’t win close games.”  They’ve been unlucky.

Bills were about 3 inches shy of having homefield advantage throughout the playoffs and potentially avoiding KC altogether.  Unlucky indeed.

Hey just trying to help the WNYers out.  Y'all are gonna pay for the stadium with tax dollars anyway.  I was just suggesting that opening up additional funding for out of state residents may not be a bad idea should a deal fall through with NY.  As a non resident I would throw some money at keeping the team there in a new stadium.   The Packers have been doing it that way for almost a century.
