So it makes sense to trade someone in the first year of their extension and take a cap hit thats really hard to eat.  Im still confused how this happens with the cap.  who are we cutting?

We we already paying Diggs this cap to be on the roster. It’s “dead” cap because we are still paying him that cap even though he isn’t on the roster.

So we don’t have to cut anybody if we replace him with a draft pick or cheap player. If we trade for someone like Higgins or Ayuik (sp?) we can probably structure their extensions so their cap is low this year.

A 2025 second rounder. ***** this. Back to the same old Bills.

Look at the trade comp around the league. For Diggs’ age, contract, and the way his performance was trending last year I think it was pretty good.

Texans take on the risk that Diggs is washed, and we get a 2nd round pick. It might work out for them if Diggs turns it around, we’ll see.

Of course it was a coaching issue. We all know that. The defense they lined up in was 100000% a play you call in the very specific situation where the offense has very little time and ZERO TIMEOUTS. They lined up way back and we're defending the sidelines.

Whoever was calling the plays had a panic attack and forgot KC had timeouts. It's the only explanation.

That's why he mentions that even a college team could have went down the field. Because KC didn't have to do anything. We left the middle wide open as if time would run out.

It was an all time blunder. One of the biggest botched endings in NFL history.

It's pretty much ancient history at this point (most of the players and coaches involved aren't even with the Bills anymore), but I think this is basically true. Levi Wallace was locking down the sideline as if KC had no timeouts. Either he screwed it up, or the play call was wrong for the situation.

IMO Cousins is not as mediocre as some want to make him out to be.   He is a borderline top 10 QB in the league.

I would say he’s solidly top 10, and was top 5 last season until his injury. As long as his Achilles is fully healed, I like this deal for the Falcons. Especially compared to the alternatives (Russ, Darnold, trying to hit in the draft).

I'm getting the sense OBD has no sense of urgency to improve this offseason. Stay the course and hope we're luckier this year won't do it I'm afraid.

Hate to break it to you, but this is a re-tool year. It isn’t a coincidence they released half of the defense and let the other half walk to FA.

How is this a benefit to the Bills? Really, is this guy useful or would he be padding his stats and moving on, in such case why bother?

It’s mutually beneficial for Renfrow to pad his stats. If he’s padding his stats, then he’s probably getting first downs and helping the Bills win.

His QBs in Vegas have been horrible.

  7. In theory, the Bills could be fine or even improved from last season if the following happen:

    - Diggs returns to form (maybe he was injured)

    - Kincaid improves from his rookie year (likely)

    - Shakir maintains his effectiveness with increased targets.

    - Cook continues to improve as a pass catcher (he improved last year, why not again?)

    - Knox plays well when he’s on the field (hopefully he his fully healthy this year).

Davis’ targets going to Kincaid, Shakir and Cook could be okay.

With that being said, it feels like FA is shaping up for a 1st round WR and a couple depth vet FAs.

Another off-season of Hooray for Hollywood with some weight gain added for good measure.  Awesome.  One of these years the guy will focus on football and actually get the most of his incredible talent.  Until then I guess it’s sampling frog legs or some other fattening French crap.

It’s possible you are being sarcastic, but if not I have two questions for you.

    1. Who led the NFL in total yards last year?

    2. Who led the NFL in total TDs last year?
