Seems a bit odd - if anything you’d expect us to bring in a RB to take Blackshear’s place. We already have Austin and Hodgins as WRs.

Tanner’s certainly had an impact - the subsequent chat is based on whether you’re old enough to remember the Treaty of Versailles…

Panthers signing Raheem Blackshear off PS

I think we could have grown Blackshear into a key component moving forward, though maybe looking more at next year than this. Howard, granted. Even Knox has been more of a blocker than a receiver this year. -

Can't help but feel he might be another one where we stuck with familiarity over potential or previously proven talent - Moss over Blackshear, Sweeney over Howard. -
How in the world do you stop this offense?

Our running game is reasonable but not the top of the NFL. It is probably still the weakest side of our offense, doubly so if you consider our offensive run blocking doesn’t seem to be top tier either. Best way would be try to close off the passing routes, rush Josh and force us to run the ball - but that’s easier said than done. -
Be fair, the floodlights were on.

Interesting timing to announce his retirement, just as the Super Bowl favourites might be sniffing around a Cornerback.

This. But better than losing.

Highmark looked stunning in the overhead shots which aired during the match.

If fit enough, could be a way of getting Greg Mancz off the practice squad and onto the roster - for a week, at least, but if he plays well…

On your last point, it feels like sometimes we make the easy, complicated. Josh's throw to Kumerow last night which was simple but messed up, the constant return to shotgun on short conversions, not managing to get to red zone after they muffed a punt on their 25. Maybe if we put the perfect game together we'll put something like 70 up against a team considering we've had issues in both games (turnovers, poor passes, strange play calls) yet still put up 72 in the first seven quarters of the season. Also, I think the first two games show that stats aren't everything, especially when it comes to the QB, as I thought Josh was more impressive against the Rams than last night. Not that he wasn't good yesterday, just thought he played better in week one, the non-fumble interception aside.

NFL Week #2 9/18/2022 - Post Game Thread - Titans at Bills

I know they won't face many defenses like ours but Willis looked like a boy trying to play a man's game at time in the fourth - and that was against our back ups. He will be in IR by the end of his first full game unless they can strengthen the OL. -
Watching the game back, our offense had it's struggles in the first half, outside of the series which resulted in touchdowns, and even then we had poor decision making from Josh where he was very nearly intercepted, followed by an illegal snap on the second down in the red zone before we went 17-7 up. Have to wonder how much of that was down to the switch at centre (not blaming Van Roten as it isn't his main role); definitely saw some which weren't at the perfect height or trajectory. Some of it was definitely down to decision making. Talk about hitting the ground running in the third quarter, though!

I agree, but we don't always have to line up in shotgun. We seem allergic to the sneak. -
So I’d argue if White is ready for the trip to the Chiefs, and Dane is back straight after the bye, then we probably suck it up unless Benford and Elam look really out of their depth on Sunday. Having Dolphins, Ravens and Chiefs in three of our next four is not the best place to be in with inexperience at CB.
-
As others said, it should be dependent on Dane’s prognosis. We don’t want to have three CBs, once White is fit, blocking the path for the promising Benford and Elam. If Dane is out for a significant amount of time then bringing in someone like Haden makes sense. The question is if he’s missing up to but perhaps not beyond the bye. Do we take the potential hit at Arrowhead or try and strengthen up before then?

Tainting himself with the Bills fanbase by cosying up to Brady. Thought you respected us more than that, Cole. 😉
