  1. Impossible to feel confident with the cloud of availability on defense hanging over. If Douglas, Johnson and Dodson play even at 80%, I believe in our offense scoring enough to get a win. Without 2 or 3 of these starters, I can’t see AJ, Elam and Williams holding Mahomes and company too well. Then we have to win a shootout. 50- 50 at best.

  2. Never take this show seriously. Nick has never given an objective opinion on Josh or the Bills. He’s just a huge KC Chiefs/Mahomes fan that resents other sports talk experts comparing the 2 or praising Buffalo at all. He’s seldom right on anything and he’s about 30% on picking games. He predicted early that the Bills had regressed and Josh was just a turnover machine and losing QB and Sean will be fired. 4 weeks ago he said the Bills were the best team in the league to miss the playoffs. Then he said Miami would beat us and end our season. Now after our great run, with a  win at KC , he says if we don’t beat them on Sunday, Sean should be fired because this would mean he could never get passed them. Just another guy from KC who has a little show and rides the national glorification of Mahomes to justify denigrating any other players and teams. When KC lost 4 out of 5 he would sheepishly say they would be fine and their defense was the best in the league. Never once would he acknowledge the offensive cluelessness of their team. He’s got zero credibility and he’s a stooge that never gets called out when he’s wrong all the time.

Yes, I get that. But he could still lead by example, by showing intensity, coaching other players with energy, etc. His lack of physical prowess has not erased all the status he's earned as a player and leader.  IDK how he is daily, but on gameday he seems mentally off, like  he is just checking in to get a paycheck.

Being a healthy scratch and then getting limited snaps probably has him demoralized and doubting his value. Sometimes it’s hard getting credibility for motivational on field coaching when you’re hurting the cause.

  4. Just a whining type of sour grapes troll that can’t accept his team was not good enough. Watched the Allen run 10 times and I defy any objective observer to say that’s a fake slide. It’s a 240lb, 6’ 5” athlete trying to make a cut. The unnecessary roughness penalty was the NFL trying to protect QBs who are hit when they’re on the ground.

What irks me, is that he doesn't seem to play with any intensity. And he was a leader in the past, not just a star player, but a leader that set an example.

Hard to lead when your play doesn’t project winning leadership skills. The guy is 35 coming off radical knee surgery and is not physically the player he was. His days of being vocal in the locker room may be over.

  6. He’s not rushing with the aggression you need to get sacks. My guess is he doesn’t trust his knee to put the torque that comes with making the turn on the wide rushes. Maybe he’s improving every week. Hopefully he can contribute against KC.

He's been invisible for weeks.  Today I saw him catch a ball and drop to the ground before getting touched, without effort for YAC. Unless he is secretly injured I think it's time to really evaluate his effectiveness and effort.

The offense has transitioned from a Josh/Diggs focus  to a balanced attack featuring Cook running and receiving, 2 TEs that stretch the field and slot receivers like Shakir making us hard to defend. Diggs is not invisible. He made 7 catches for 87 yds against Miami including a great 50 yd reception vs tight coverage and 5 or 6 clutch grabs to keep drives going last night. He’s an integral part of the attack and demands double coverage which opens up opportunities for others. What’s with the need to dismiss our best receiver? Our offense hasn’t looked this good since Josh was drafted. Just enjoy the ride. We’re on a 6 game heater.

Allen with the blatant fake slide on the long run, then later draws a 15 yard penalty on a late hit on slide where the defender didn't hit his head.....but can you blame him for going for the tackle based on the fake earlier?

The slide is a play intended to protect the QB, not to do what Allen did.  That was garbage.

That’s the rules bub,  Josh gave himself up and your guy wanted to put a lick on him when he was on the ground. Going for the tackle? He was on the ground after a slide. What is a fake slide?  Based on the fake earlier where your secondary couldn’t tackle him like they whiffed with Shakir. Just enjoy getting into the playoffs. Good job

  9. Congratulate them on a good season? They were exposed as a fraud and a poorly constructed team. They lost to any physical and talented team they played. Their team does not show up in cold weather games. When their playoff prospects were on the line against their divisional rival at home, they crapped the bed and had their fanbase turn their stadium into a Bills home game. Their coach is a clown in yoga pants and has a QB who does not show up in big games. Why register for their goofy board anyway?

  10. Congrats Dolphins, you were able to fool the football viewers into believing that your team was legitimate. It took until week 17  starting in Baltimore to  begin process that ended with the embarrassment against Buffalo and KC, to show us what a delicate, sensitive team you are. Perhaps conditions were to difficult for thoroughbreds that thrive in perfect warm, fast tracks like your home stadium. Could it be that your Hawaiian born QB , who is winless when playing in temps under 40, is not cut out for winter in the northern states. Is it possible that Coach McDaniel, who favors yoga pants on the sidelines, doesn’t lubricate his skin enough to feel comfortable enough to call positive plays in cold weather. Maybe it’s those loyal fans , who will sell their tickets for the most important game of the season to serve up any home field advantage to your biggest rival, not being with the team on the road. Oh well, at least you guys were on that in season HBO show.

First, let's rip apart the Steel Curtain on Monday. Then, let's cook the Chefs. 🙂

For those that know the intricacies and nuisances of schemes and attacking a team's weakness, what is the template for the Chiefs?

I don't like them having two extra days of recovery and two more days of Coach Reid game planning.

We are the better team, but until they're knocked out, they are the Champs.

For me, the two biggest factors:

    1.  1 turnover or less

    2.  Control the Clock

I like your ideas but add two more and I think with the best 12th man in football we can advance, providing we dispatch Pitt. We must have a competent spy on Mahomes. He’s running more lately and wrecking games. Finally, our tackling, which has been better during the win streak, must be physically imposing. Their backs have been running hard and controlling games especially in cold weather conditions. Miami was so poor tackling that it looked like they wanted to get back to the Hotel early.

Klein has not been activated. He was only signed to the practice squad likely as depth insurance in the event that Dotson isn't ready to go on Sunday. Smart move by Beane to get him a few practices, but this does not mean he'll be active on Sunday.  I fully agree that Joseph should be active for the Steelers and will be an important piece. I also expect McDerrmott to play primarily nickel and use #7 & 21 in run blitzes early and often.

Klein will be active with Dodson unable to go. With only Williams available as MLB (play caller responsibility) Klein will be useful.

  13. 12 hours ago, Kingston Bills Fan said:

There is no reason to be in Nickel base defence in this game. Against Mason Rudolph in the wind and snow they will not be passing the ball. They are going to run and run over and over. I feel like it will take McD having a couple TD’s scored against him to get out of Nickel and hope it’s not too late when points will be at a premium. It’s the only way Pit can win.

Go heavy and stop the run for the win. Also absolutely no need for Von Miller out there. Use Shaq and Kingsley and secure the edges go big.

He’ll be out of the nickel early especially because they activated Klein from the practice squad. Linval Joseph will be important in this game.

...ok, so first of all, we KNOW Josh should have only thrown the ball to a guy in the endzone or thrown it away.  That was a mistake.  But if you get past that, it was a good throw to an open guy and it looked like Johnson was going to score until Baker blew him up with a helmet to helmet hit at the goal line.  Why no flag there?   It was blatant and knocked Johnson out of the game with a concussion.

Everyone who’s being objective asks the same question. That and the obvious PI on Knox in the end zone right before Josh throws the pick on the 1st drive, are 2 missed calls that could have changed the outcome. Bills could have been up 21 to 7 at the half instead of down 14 to 7.

I’m aware and think he is a coach that has proven he can win.  It’s not that common for fired head coaches to become hired somewhere else the next season, especially a defensive minded one.  It does happen, I know, and maybe you’re right and I’ll be very wrong as multiple teams vie for him.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see chargers pursue Ben Johnson.  Given the group put together in Washington I fully expect a Shanahan protege to be the pick.  Carolina might be the spot where they pursue him, but IMO I think Vrabel might not see that as attractive and might decline that job.  If they are willing to move on from Young, then maybe, but I wouldn’t want to be saddled with trying to make water into wine.  That roster is awful.

The NE job is probably more likely. Vrabel and Kraft have a relationship.

Did Sean McDermott write this? Kinda sounds like you need to take a little bit of a step back from things.

Chill out man. I totally expect the Bills to win. I've acknowledged what this team has accomplished in numerous, probably repetitive posts over the last several weeks. It's a valid question to consider if we are shockingly upset. Also worth remembering that nothing we say or do here on a message board has any impact whatsoever on anything involving this team. Nobody here is undermining anything this team has accomplished at all.

Just seems like an odd time for the post.

  17. I hope we can see this great young player reach his full potential in Buffalo because he will be great. His ability to get open and make clutch catches is becoming critical to our winning games. I think he could be our #2 or a better slot receiver than Beasley at his best.

I still think you can argue that anything short of a superbowl appearance warrants serious discussion regarding McD's future here.

But if for some reason they lay an egg to a Steelers team without TJ Watt and a 3rd string starting QB that would probably be out of the league by now under most circumstances... not sure how coaching once again isn't front and center in Buffalo as the main reason why this nightmare scenario could play out.

Anything positive to add about the team? Your high expectations are commensurate with your abject hatred for the team. Isn’t sad to be trapped in a city where everyone loves the home team and wants to celebrate great wins and you always have disappointment and frustration. I know just come up with scenarios where Bills fans can blame people for a loss.

It looks like hardly anyone is giving the Steelers any shot at beating us, which is understandable and likely accurate. However, we have suffered humiliating losses to far lesser teams way too many times before. Anything is possible and Tomlin is going to have his team as prepared as is possible.

That said, if the Steelers were to somehow knock us out, what happens to this team going forward? Is McD safe because of his performance over the last 6 games? Do assistant coaches get the axe? Is Brady the really the answer? Which players do we finally move on from?

Do you think by giving that lame disclaimer dismissing the prospect of Bills losing, insulates you from the mentality of pointing fingers at anyone in a position of coaching or management having responsibility for losing a playoff game. Wouldn’t it be nice to have fans after watching your team heroically get our city potentially 2 playoff games at home, closing the season winning 5 straight games against 3 playoff teams, just acknowledge how great our coaches and players performed? It’s sad that it’s always people waiting in the weeds to pounce with any underperforming scenario that undermines incredible efforts by our team’s never say die accomplishments.

  20. Eddie sets the tone for the physicality that our defense has been playing with. He provides the up the middle pressure we must have because we’re not getting consistent edge rusher pressure. He gets sacks and he’s been available every game. Anyone who doesn’t acknowledge his value to this team and the impact of his resigning are not dealing with reality and should be dismissed.

Maybe.  The NFL is weird sometimes and despite Vrabel's success teams will still gamble for a home run hire over a retread.  Atlanta wants an offensive minded coach and is likely already locked in on who their first choices are. Chargers will probably be in same boat after taking a shot on a young DC.  Washington is going to probably take a look at an entire top to bottom housecleaning that doesnt seem like a good fit. The Raiders might be the best fit but I think Pierce might be the guy. The Panthers want someone who can work with Bryce Young. I dont think its a slam dunk he gets a HC gig.

Look at his record with Tenn who was a dumpster fire prior and how hard his players played for him and respected him. It’s obvious Vrabel played hardball with management about a new contract so my take is he knows he’s on the shortlist for a few teams(NE, LA, Carolina)  A “home run” would be more probable with Vrabel if he had a high draft choice/QB in place and cap space than the other top candidates (Ben Johnson, Antonio Pierce, Houston’s OC, etc.)
