Yes, they figured Davis would take another step forward.  Based on his play last season, that seemed like a prudent bet.  It hasn't worked out as well as we would have hoped.

You seem to be forgetting that they signed Jamison Crowder -- seemed like a solid signing at the time -- and drafted Shakir.  It's not like they ignored the position in the offseason or anything.  It's just that the guy they signed to play the slot got hurt in camp and never really recovered, and they've brought Shakir along very slowly.  My guess is they probably had plans for Cook in the slot and haven't felt comfortable opening that part of the playbook up yet.

What did you want them to do?  Go and get Davante Adams?  Pick a WR early in the draft instead of a CB, which we desperately needed?  Tell us what your offseason plan was.

I think we were banking on Crowder pretty heavily going into the year.  It’s a shame he got hurt because I think he’s exactly what this offense is missing right now. Josh needs that safety outlet when things get hairy

I’m wondering what major color will have the Jets stadium tomorrow.

    Most white-green or red-blue-white ?

    Probably the first one, but in what measure ? Maybe 70-30 ? 65-35 ? 50-50 ?

    Your thought ?

It was a big ol Bills fan reunion there last year. I’d expect a little more green there tomorrow

In reading Twitter and other teams' message boards, I've learned that many opposing fans feel about Allen the way Bills fans used to feel about Brady: that he whines too much to the refs when he gets hit.

I don't see it that way, but then again, I'm a biased Bills fan.

It's possible that if Allen were on the opposing sideline, I'd hate the guy.

He definitely does seem to get some calls he shouldn’t.  He’s had some pretty blatant flops and has gotten calls for them.  I’m not complaining though.

My concern with resigning Poyer despite his high level of performance WHEN available is that his limited availability this year may be a harbinger of the things to come, the things that come with NFL players of advancing age.  At an age when most players bodies begin to betray them, this is Poyer's 4th or 5th separate injury this year.  Is this just what life with a aging Poyer will look like going forward?  Will Beane pay big bucks for more years of that?  Be it Benford, a trade or a draft choice, I suspect Beane will be diligent in pursuit of an answer with that in mind.

Agreeed and Micah ain’t no young buck either. I see us going safety heavy next offseason.

  5. I think the expectations for Tremaine were so high he’ll never live up to them.   But when you watch the differences between him and Milano they are so far apart on impact plays and just instincts in general.  At this point I look at Tremaine like I did of Paul Posluszny.

Sure, he does give QB’s something to be concerned about running around like the predator in the middle of the field but it just seems like he should just make so many more impact plays with his size and athleticism and he just doesn’t.  I’m ok if we keep him or let him walk, we locked up the more important linebacker last year imo.

Yeah the boys are doing alright when it comes to their bank accounts.  Now Pat’s doing gameday on Saturdays and I think he’s still involved with WWE doing their commentary so he’s pretty good I’d imagine.

they have a lot Bills  players on for interviews which is cool too.  Players really seem much more loose during his show as compared to the normal cookie cutter interviews
