  1. The proof of the pudding will be whether or not we draft an OT in the first round.
  2. One thing to add to this hypothetical discussion is that it isn't just a matter of people within the state voting to split the state. It's certainly a constitutional issue. Here's an excerpt from the article pertaining to the states: link. The Upstaters might want to split the state, but it looks it take the consent of the NY state legislature and the congress. Getting the downstaters to agree to let their cash cow depart is going to be difficult.
  3. The nice thing is that there's two years left on his contract, which is attractively priced. It isn't like the usual case of the player finishing the last year of his contract, where the team has to negotiate the contract as part of the trade. The risk for the team is that he'll hold-out for a year or two.
  4. Aside from the sticker shock of 11.5M a year, could the Bills even pay it? I don't know what the cap status is for the Bills. Does is break the bank? If the Bills could pay the '09 draft picks and cough-up the bucks for Peters, why not do it?
  5. I'm not knowledgeable about Ayers, however a 40 yard dash time might not be the best metric for a defensive lineman. I'm sure Pat Williams had a crappy 40, but he sure could explode off the line.
  6. A separate thread should be titled as the above quote. The folks who are critical of the CB decisions that have been made need to offer up some suggestions about the bigger picture of how to impove the defense as a whole (in the context of available FAs and potential draft picks). What were our rankings for the defense last year?
  7. I have a question for the folks that question this deal: if the team let Lee go after this season, what would you suggest as a replacement? It's generally agreed that a team needs a deep threat because opposing defenses will play to the advantage of a short field. There are no deep threats on this team other than Lee. The leaves either the draft or free agency for next year. I don't suppose you'll argue that a rookie is going to be an immediate deep threat, even if we draft in the top 5. For the free agent route, would we pay less than this deal for someone of comparable skills? I haven't looked at the potential free agents for next year, but it might be the case that top receiver just got taken off that list.
  8. This thread is bringing back the memories. Remember the '12 days of christmas' song based on the Bills that played on all the radio stations?
  9. Aside from the noise, there is some signal in this thread, and it's a topic worth discussing. This boils down to the following: OTAs and training camp are important. The play of Favre, Manning and Chambers can be attributed to this. So next year when there are players in the league that aren't in OTAs or training camp, and people say it doesn't matter, we've got data that says it does matter. In Peter's case, we shouldn't be too sullen. We've got weak opponents for the next two weeks, and then a bye. Last year's data consists of Strahan. He sucked in the first few games, and then was a decisive factor in the Big Game.
  10. http://gateway.andohs.net/player/default_n...amp;customlogo= The player interviews are over now, Vic Carrucci is taking calls.
  11. Jauron, Kelsey, Lindel...They're saying how the crowd noise played a part at the end.
  12. I don't quite agree. Pass defense is preventing the receiver from catching the ball, even if that is just diving and sticking one arm in the air. Turn overs are a second priority. Greer does his job, and nobody behind him can be described as threatening him for his job. I'd really doubt that knowledgeable fans are complaining about how he's performed.
  13. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this. People are rating McKelvin's coverage skills based on his draft position rather than what we've seen when he's been on the field. The same thing happened with McCargo.
  14. I'm sitting here in the UK hoping the same thing. Anyone want to help a brother out?
  15. The dynamic of Ruben and Gabe bringing up their own topics and speaking from the heart would have been disrupted by callers. Kudos Brad for just letting them talk!
  16. Brad, Thanks for the Rueben Brown show. Last Monday's discussion with Gabe Northern was some of the best football talk I've ever heard. I'll follow the show every week. Cheers
  17. The is a 'must listen to' podcast for all Bills fans. There are some incredible gems in here, a real insider's view. To top it off, these guys love Buffalo, and this is after they've gone somewhere else to see how green the grass is.
  18. I'm with you on that. If we ask the hypothetical questions of "if you're rebuilding a team from nothing, where do you start? What do you prioritize?", I would answer O-line. Running game depends on it, passing game depends on it, QB performance is linked to it, etc. After all these years to finally address this is fantastic. I personally can't evaluate how good the moves we've made are, but I'm damn glad that it's recognized as a priority.
  19. I was pretty relieved when Sirius got the NFL deal - I got mine way back in 2002. I would have switched if XM got the contract. It's really incredible having so much NFL talk piped into my car (I commute 2.5 hrs/day).
  20. I listen to Kirwan alot, and if there is anything you can say about him is that he lays his reasoning out on the table for evaluation. You may disagree with his conclusion, but atleast he has a reasoned arguement. For example with the Bills, he says that the knocks against us are the QB, the Oline and TE. Well, that's no different than what alot of Bills fans think. My favorite thing he does on the radio when someone proclaims team X is going 12-4, he pulls out the schedule and goes through each opponent asking the person to say W or L. Quite often the total is a bit worse than 12-4.
  21. Don't forget that "Movin' the Chains" is replayed from 11pm to 2am
  22. It's pretty easy. Fry a slice of bologny. Put on bread. That's it.
  23. Go to the left side menu, click on "top video" to see a bigger list of videos. It must have scrolled on the main page list.
  24. How did Sirius eff us? What was the sweet deal?
