I'm not disagreeing with the substance of what you're saying in relation to the video -- but come on, man. Even you have to laugh at the irony of including such a video in this specific thread. And saying "you don't get more American than this" -- then posting a clip of not just a few white dudes, but like 100 -- most of whom are in black-face!

Thinking and planning were never W's strong-suits. Personally, I do not think he was composing himself. I think he was a deer in the headlights at best, incompetent at worst in those moments. Certainly not evil. Actually, no. I don't think he did a good job of dealing with it over the next 8 years. And I think the loss of 4,488 brave fighting men and women are evidence of that -- not to mention the economic cost of fighting a war that had nothing to do with 9/11.

I meant you're dreaming if you think Romney is going to completely scrap it if/when he gets into office. It makes for a nice stump speech, but he doesn't have the power to repeal it alone -- and the genie is out of the bottle already, there's no going back.

Boxing yourself into any ideological corner for the sake of a label is for weak minded people who want to feel better about themselves by identifying with a larger group. There's safety in numbers. If more people would think for themselves, we'd be in a much more productive spot than we're in now politically speaking.

I agree with a lot of your logic in this post -- but still think you're dreaming. Based on what I heard last night it doesn't matter who's in office. War is coming -- again. Both guys are marching to the same orders on this one. This is true as well -- do you think that there is any sort of strike package that could realistically be used to assure Iran doesn't develop nukes? I don't think so but I'm guessing. Edit: A strike package alone I mean -- without ground forces following it up (inspectors don't count). And, obviously excluding a nuclear strike on our part or Israel's.

Ryan was just the male version of Palin tonight. Both pretty, both totally scripted, both more successful than anticipated -- Palin just played better to you (and most men) because she's a MILF and men are easier to manipulate in that fashion. I bet Ryan played really well tonight to the females, you just saw through his talking points because he doesn't have hooters.

Biden is an experienced political operative and quite capable of delivering a good line -- but I gotta say, my first instinct on it was that it wasn't rehearsed. That one seemed a genuine reflex. Of course, I also think Rick Moranis is the most under-appreciated actor of his generation, so I could be wrong about that. Still, both made me laugh.

So... when do we go into Iran? I'm thinking right around December 21st, personally.
