  2. I had a very 'pleasant' experience with the presale, got into the waiting room about 10 minutes prior, the queue while a bit slow only was about 45 minutes for me.  Picked a couple seats and checked out.  Decided to try and get back into the queue and it was less than a minute. tried picking a few choices but they disappeared, just kept trying and wound up with a second pair.

I absolutely love the all in pricing aspect.  $295 tickets were $295 not $295 plus fees.  I saw the breakdown after the purchase but i love that all in price point(blissful ignorance i suppose)

I got back half sec 109 and 302 if i recall correctly.  I can't wait

    Just curious:

Which shows are you going to? Did you get the tickets through pre-sale and, if so, how was your experience?

In my case, there were three of us, all trying on different devices, for tickets. Each of us picked a date. Even though we were all in the queue quite early, I was the only one who got tickets. My two friends were shut out. I was able to circle back an hour later when they dropped additional (more expensive) tickets and get a second date.

We're in for May 30th (200s section, great seats) and May 31st (awful seats in the 400s, but much cheaper). You?

  3. Clearly you weren't at shows where Jay Lane sat in for Billy K....he's pretty dreamy😁

The Dead have definitely always been the quintessential "just go out and play" band, with very little "show" at their concerts, other than the liquid light shows in the ballrooms in the late 60s in San Francisco. Ever since then, they've been about as anti "show" as a band can get.

If you know about the audience of the Dead, though, you know that they tend to enjoy imbibing certain recreational and botanical substances that would make something like a three dimensional immersive 4K sphere rather...interesting? Terrifying? Life-changing? Not sure the right word.

Hokey light shows don't really appeal to me either, but if you've taken a peak at the stuff U2 did at their show at the Sphere, it's certainly far beyond a light show. Futhermore, I've seen Dead and Co a bunch in recent years, and save for John Mayer, they really aren't much to look at :)

Most of the time at Dead concerts, I experience much of the show with my eyes closed. This'll be the first time in a while that I (and my mycologically enhanced brain) will be doing some watching. Can't wait to see what they have in store.

And lastly...Yes. Prices for this residency are/were outrageous. I don't blame anyone who doesn't wanna shell out this kind of cash. Highway robbery. I'm gonna take in two shows (maybe three) and make a weekend of it with my Deadhead pod of friends. The circus that is 20,000 Deadheads descending on the circus that is Vegas. Gonna be a hoot.

  5. Just saw My Morning Jacket at the Fox Theater in Atlanta Friday night.  The Fox is a beautiful venue.  MMJ was absolutely incredible.  The Friday setlist was everything I could have hoped for.  They're such an amazing band and they kill it live!

  6. I've lived in the philly area since 2010 and am in no way shape or form a Phillies fan, Yankee fan through and through and really don't care a lick about any NL Teams.  That said, i was rooting for the Phillies fans, being among the hoopla is fun, and it's really nice to be embedded with a fanbase that has had considerable success.  Can't imagine Fox Sports is thrilled with a Texas v Arizona world seried

What's nice about this is I'm half a Phillies fan at best. I've lived here most of my life at this point but obviously grew up in a place with no MLB team. I don't have any particular loyalty to the Phillies. If I move again it will be easy to switch teams again. That means that tonight I'm not angry or even that disappointed. It's kinda of like "oh well".  Is that what it's like to be a casual fan? Football and hockey don't do that to me. The Bills legitimately annoy me often and the Sabres are like the child who never stops disappointing you. You keep watching because you feel like you owe it to them to try to care but you know they will mess it up in the end.

  7. Jack, the study lead called me when i was on vacation a couple of weeks to let me know that all my results came back from the pre-screen and it showed I was "too healthy" and didn't qualify to move forward.  I suppose that is good news, but my SA is pretty severe, or at least it was 11 years ago.  Oh well.  I guess i will have to wait for it to hit the market.  Thanks for asking

    How's the med trial going?

I've been having the same issue. Wondering if anyone has found headgear that uses a buckle instead of velcro.  I've tried searching online, but no luck.  I'd rather not have to keep replacing headgear so often.  I have used safety pins to keep it secured, but wanted something that is easier to adjust in the middle of the night.

  8. Just saw Bobby Weir and Wolf Bros last night at the Met in Philly.  Might be one of the best shows I've ever seen.  The energy was off the charts.  The setlist was awesome.  Horns and strings really enhanced the classic Dead tunes.  If you are a deadhead and haven't seen them, I highly suggest you go see them.  So freaking good.  And for 77, Bobby was as good as I've seen and heard him in years!!!

  9. i have used a cpap for years, best thing i ever did.  My sleep doctor is getting me in to a phase 3 double blind trial for a new medication that has potentially positive results.  I start the trial next week, really looking forward to seeing how it plays out, but with my luck, i'll probably get the placebo

  10. I know very little about soccer/football and I'm not too ignorant to know about the social/political issues surrounding the sport and the women's team.  That said, I'm watching as much of this tournament as I possibly can and am going to root for the US women's team until the bitter end.  GO US WOMEN!!!!  let's win this once again!

Saw Cake last night at the Rooftop at Pier 17 in NYC.

    Fantastic.

John McCrea could be a stand-up comic.

Perfect mix of great tunes, great dialogue and a lot of fan interaction.

This has been a bucket list show for me since the mid-90s and they did not disappoint.

    Highly recommend.

My good friend is at cake tonight.

    I want a girl with a short skirt and a long, jacket😂

  13. I had tickets but decided to couch tour the west coast swing, could justify the logistics of those shows spread out over 2+ weeks, so i got rid of my tix and couch toured them.  Such a great summer tour overall.  Wish they went deeper into the catalog this time out, but the Standing's, Estimated>Eyes etc were among the best i've ever heard, among others.

Just caught the last five shows of Dead and Company on their final tour. Two at the Gorge and three at Oracle Park in San Francisco. All were excellent.

The band seems to be playing the best they ever have, so it's a shame to see them go. Alas, Bob Weir is like 75 years old and it's unreasonable to expect him to tour and play four hour shows forever.

Anyway, it was a fun weekend in San Fran. Deadheads took over the city. I felt bad for the hotel staffs and food purveyors that had to deal with these hordes of hippies pre and post (particularly post) shows. Amazing that Dead music is still packing 50,000 fans into a sold out baseball stadium three nights in a row, 58 years after it first began.

Now we wait to see what the next iteration of Dead music will be, and whether or not I'll wind up at ANOTHER "final tour" a few years from now.

I doubt it will happen, but sort of wonder if Edwards even could transfer back at this point.

There's rumors that 8 players may jump ship today or tomorrow from wva.  Could be interesting
