  1. Yeah. He really beat up on 3rd stringers and scrubs.
  2. I heard that and they kept driving it home. I think they were making a point because the news on Camp Chan is out. With injuries you cannot ever claim to know the answer. Camp Jauron was soft and we still had lots of injuries. Gailey's are tough and the injuries are piling up already. We have changed Strength and Conditioning coaches numerous times in the last 10 years. Seems like luck has something to do with it.
  3. I guess it looks like a bottle cap to some. I never saw that. I could see the "sun/hoop thing" plain as day. My opinion is that the Dolphins logo is crappy for a sports team. Same with their team colors and uni's. It sounds like you think most of the sport logos are bad? I do like the simpler designs. Too much detail is not needed in a sports logo (for my taste). The Chicago Black Hawks are an exception. I do like the colors and detail in it. (Don't mean to tread on the politically correct topic again.) I remember the original Raven logo, the "B" in the shield with the wings. It was ok I guess. What does that have to do with your point though?
  4. Promo -- My summary. The only thing that mattered was the first quarter and we made mistakes. Stupar's holding killed a TD on a great first drive. Maybin's roughing the QB led to a TD for them. Our OL was hurting on the right side with Cordaro Howard at RG and Chambers at RT. After a few series the Skins worked that side hard and it led to more mistakes, Trents pic, etc. Chambers got flagged twice for movement. He is just not very good. We lost the real game with starters 10-3. Our second team front 7 looked bad, even against their backups. In the seocnd half our scrubs got beat by their scrubs. Hence the score you see. Maybin played the whole game. He is a project.
  5. The First Quarter was the only part of the game were both teams played all of their starters lets discuss the best and worst things we saw yesterday. The quarter ended 10-3 with the Skins driving for their next TD. We had two offensive possessions totally 6 minutes, 22 yards rushing, 44 yards passing, 5 first downs and 2 penalties for 25 yards. Worst - Our pass rush. No QB pressure in the first two series. The run defense was pretty good. Best- Our first series on offense. We really mixed up plays and moved the chains. Chan alluded to some things he wanted to do with two RB's that he could not do with Jackson and Lynch out. I am hopeful that when our starting OL comes together that we make a big stride forward. Keep the faith.
  6. To early to tell. McCargo played against back ups and he looked like a back up himself. Not much to get excited about.
  7. It was the local Washington DC TV by the way. They were all wearing Redskins Polo Shirts.
  8. Concur. One of yestardays bright spots was Nelson. Give him more reps Chan.
  9. I watched maybin very closely. He played the entire game which seemed odd and almost like a punishment. In the first quarter, against the first string, Maybin played on 3rd down passing situation and he was easily blocked by Trent Williams, a rookie LT. He made a mistakle on the roughing penalty and kept a drive alive. The Skins would have punted if not for his penalty. Instead they scored 6. We would have got the ball back with a 3-0 lead. He made some plays in the 3rd quarter. He was getting run over by scrubs in the 4th quarter. It has been pointed out that Maybin is very small. He does not appear to have the size and strength to play every down. Since he is only 22 he can get bigger. He may be two years away from being a very good player. We passesd on Orakpo who looks like a monster. Hard to believe that pro scouts and our FO would miss the obvious age, size and maturity difference between Orakpo and Maybin. It looks like man versus boy to me.
  10. I thought that the left side of the OL with Meredith and Levitre did ok. When Bell, Wood and Green get back we should be better.
  11. Maybin's hit was hard enought to justify a penalty in pre-season. I thought that against the starters in the first half he was not ready for prime time. He really only played on passing downs and his speed rush move has handled easily by rookie Trent Williams. His penalty kept a drive alive and led to a TD. He played the entire second half and he made some plays but he sure gets burried on running plays. The kid has a long way to go.
  12. Yes. But I am not buying it. Talk about hitting and getting tougher all camp long. That was the time to man up and get the first down.
  13. CJ looked very good in his one carry. I would not anoint the Beast yet. Chambers is just plain bad. He got cut last year and he is back and even further up the depth chart because our FO continues to ignore the OT position. McGee looked slow and did not have a good game.
  14. There is no such book. Remember the Titans fake punt last year in preseason?
  15. I don't care about not challenging the TD. I did not like not going for it with just inches to go. All that talk about blocking and tackling and being tough. This was the time to run a QB sneak right behind Andy Levitre and keep the ball.
  16. I am an Italian American-American Native. I must say that I am very tired of the political correctness stuff. I don't hate the Redskins now because I didn't hate them 40 years ago when no one cared about this crap. In today's world I can't even say Merry Christmas to you because someone else might get offended. You can't say the Pledge of Allegiance in a public school either because it mentions God. I boycott all this PC stuff. All of it. Including the zealots who insist on renaming sports teams. Treat people right. Do not pre-judge. Be nice and live good.
  17. Flipper with a botttle cap? It is a Dolphin jumping through a hoop, and the hoop is the sun. Bottle cap?
  18. Trent is going to start. Hey the first drive was good.
  19. Decent QB pressure? In the first half we had no sacks and no pressures. Maybin was owned by a rookie in his first start. Maybin also had a late hit on their second possesion, which, by the way kept the Skins drive alive. BTW - Maybin is still in the game in the fourth quarter playing against fodder. He has made some QB pressures in the second half but is lost on running plays.
  20. This is a tough call. Edwards did not throw on time because he was quickly flushed out of the pocket. Chambers was a turnstile as usual. Evans needs to get to the ball and help the QB out. When a QB throws on the run the WR needs to be moving too. I put this one on Evans.
  21. Yeah I know it is early, first preseason game, new coaching staff and all that stuff. • Good first drive mixing runs and short passes. A stupid holding penalty by Stupar killed a 22 yard run to the 3 by Lynch. We salvaged a FG. • Defensive starters stopped the run in the two series that they played. Starting front seven was Edwards, Williams and Stroud. Torbor, Mitchell, Davis, and Ellis. • Pass rush was not there. No QB pressures. Nothing. • Maybin played on 3rd down passing downs. He was swallowed up by rookie Trent Williams. Maybin had a stupid roughing the passer penalty on a 3rd and 6 stop. That kept the skins aliove and they went on to score a TD. • Trent Edwards looked ok on the first drive and bad after that. Pressure on him from the right side led to mistakes and rushed passes. • The OL was bad. They starters from right to left were: Chambers, Corrado Something, Hangartner, Levitre, Meredith. Pass protection was good on the left side and horrid on the right. • On the Edwards interception Kirk Chambers missed his man completely. Edwards was flushed out of the pocket and threw on the run to an open Evans. Evans stopped moving and the DB went for the ball and got the pick. Theisman (the TV analyst) called out Evans for quitting on the play and he was correct. Evans did not go back to the QB, if he had he would have had the reception. • Our 3rd defensive series featured a different set of front 7 and they were very bad as a unit. Also, TSW fan favorite George Wilson missed several tackles in the secondary allowing big gains. • Our offense continued to sputter. Chambers had two false starts and was schooled in pass protection. The starting offense went 3 and out in their third series. • Fourth series and we still had the starting offense in there. We had a 3rd and 15 and Edwards hit Steve Johnson on a catch and run for 14.9 yds. Curiously Gailey lined them up in short yardage formation and did not run a play. Straight from the Dick Jauron book of play calling. We had a chance to practice a meaningful 3rd and inches and we flinched. That hurt. • Spiller had one run for greater than 10 yards and looks very explosive. • Carrington and Troup looked like rookies. • Fitz played the last series and looked lost. • 21-3 at halftime. • As I type this we are getting pummeled in the second half and Theisman just mentioned that the Bills as a team look tired and have no legs. Long way to go.
  22. I saw that. They covered Trent Williams, then Shanny, then McNabb, then Haynesworth. I started to think what about the Bills when Eisen says "30 seconds, anything to say about the Bills?" I was shocked to see Faulk look down and shake his head no. The body language said it all. What happened? Why did he do this?
  23. Do we need a thread on yet another prediction that we will suck? That is about normal. The media reads what the media puts out. What else is anyone going to say? 1. We did not hire a big name Coach 2. We did not draft a QB until round 7 3. We did not draft a tackle until round 5 4. We are changing the defense 5. Spiller is great but why did we draft him? 6. We lost Owens, Schobel, Butler and Reed. We added Winkin', Blinkin' and Nod. 7. Our best player is a punter 8. We play in Toronto 9. Ralph Wilson is still the owner 10. It snows in Buffalo but the wings are great No ONE is going to predict a good season for this team. BTW - My prediction is 8-8.
  24. Thanks for the laugh.
  25. So are we all former communists?
