Listening to Beane's presser...Kincaid was the only player on their board left in the first round.  They knew Dallas wanted him and had they not been able to jump Dallas, they would have traded back.  Kincaid is a player they don't currently have on their offense.  He will create matchup nightmares and can dictate coverage.  They didn't draft him to be a blocking TE.  This is a great pick!

He says that every year about the board.

  2. Beane loves Spencer Brown. He shouldn’t but he does. He has made every excuse in the book for him, from injuries to not playing 3 years ago because of COVID. People shouldn’t expect Beane to get anything besides nominal competition for him. Brown will be our starting RT, and we won’t draft OL until round 3 at the earliest because he doesn’t value it. I really hope I’m wrong.

The last couple seasons, we've gotten ourselves stuck in a vicious cycle.

We go into the draft with a couple glaring needs.  This forces us to reach for a position, instead of going with the best player.

Lackluster drafts lead to more roster holes/needs in future offseasons.  Rinse, repeat...

Right now, the Bills have huge needs at:

    - Running Back

    - Right Tackle

    - Middle Linebacker

This roster could also use some help at Wide Receiver (both outside deep threat and slot).  We don't know when Von Miller will return from his ACL, so maybe another pass rusher.  Depth along the O-Line and Tight End.

If we don't address these positions with a (starting caliber) veteran, then it basically pigeonholes us for the draft.  Brandon Beane will have no choice but address these positions in the first three rounds.  Regardless of how the draft talent actually falls.

I agree on Right Tackle, but unfortunately I don't think Beane does. He loves Brown too much for him to consider it a major need.

That's exactly why eventually Josh will get fed up with this organizational philosophy. If McB doesn't go hard on OL, WR, etc this April, I could see a slow divide begin.  At the very least the contract controlled olineman should've been acquired in 19, 20, 21.  You ask your superstar qb to do 85% of the offensive production while Abbott & Costello waste picks on defensive busts.

And hopefully when that happens, the Pegulas will make the right choice and pick Allen over McDefense
