The argument your not interested in listening to is the Bills develop DB’s. It’s a strength of this coaching staff. You chose not to listen to that argument and somehow feel the GM has been negligent with this position group. We will find out in 2-3 games. But to say it’s a straw man when in fact the argument has been presented is not logical. Seems a bit much imho.

The argument presented was Allen/Barkley Hyde/Johnson. So help me understand which of the two has a more massive gap ? Eesh… Is a step slow at this point in his career 🤷🏻‍♂️

Same for LA game. Massive amount of CA bills fans. I live in Clovis 3 hrs N and met a ton of Bills fans living in CA. The generations of Bills fans extends throughout the US.

To be fair to the discussion comparing Allen with Barkley and Hyde to Johnson is not relevant. Athletically a massive gap vs similar athleticism vs instincts and experience. No suggestion that Hyde won’t be a loss but the drop off comparison is apples/oranges. I’m optimistic because LF is. Hope that makes sense. I feel your concern for sure.

I think trusting in LF and the team development concept. Both Hyde and Poyer had potential but were unproven until they came to the Bills. Johnson has 4 years in the system and I think he has the best chance of immediate success. Hamlin might be more of a work in progress but see them staying with these 2 over big names on the market. Hyde is certainly a loss but the confidence in the Bills prep has me feeling Johnson will be decent.

Agreed. It’s the NFL they don’t just move guys from position to position.LF basically said the backups have been getting reps and learning for 2-4 years now. I would be surprised if we see a big name S come in. I imagine they will add depth to the PS.

Hmm why would we move an above average run mlb, who is elite in coverage ? To the edge where we have DE’s who have played the position in college and now the pros. How does this help the Bills ? Bernard has potential but is undersized in the run game. Spector had a nice pre season but would be exposed in the pass game. Edmunds forced Stafford to make difficult throws or didn’t try due to his wingspan. Would we like to see him more dominant i the run game? Sure, guessing he will do better with this group of DT’s. Pass coverage he is outstanding in. Don’t get the logic🤷🏻‍♂️

Dolphins are improved and will be a challenge for sure. They will be gunning for us week 3. Phins are going to win 10 games. Pats 5-7 and Jets 4-6.

Appreciate your insight. Just seems Johnson although FA would be pretty easy to resign if he’s in Bills plans. He and Hamlin would have 2-4 years in position as back ups. While Benford may be moved to safety, they would already have him in that spot if it was most beneficial to the team. Would seem quite a jump from never playing the position before imho.

Why would our starting CB be expected to be our S? We have 2 back up safeties currently. Poyer will either sign a 2 year deal and stay. Or be replaced by Johnson or Hamlin. And possibly a mid round draft choice next year.

Vey impressive for a 4.th option don’t you think ? It’s about explosive plays as part of a super deep group of skill players.

Bruce missed a playoff against Pittsburgh when he had the flu. He didn’t get the flu vaccine so that’s interesting he ripped Beasley. Yes Bruce best ever Bill but doesn’t always impress with what he says imho.

Agree. While nobody will claim him until this is resolved, this continues the PR nightmare. No win for the Bills right now. Someone didn’t protect the franchise reputation and that’s the second biggest bummer of this whole deal. First of course being the trauma this girl endured.

JW article says 2 of 5 teams were aware of the situation. As a team vetting a positional need and MA being arguably the top punter-they should have at least been aware. The questions they ask are pretty specific. Any legal or off field issues we should be concerned about? Perhaps then the Bills would have asked, what about the SDSU campus rumors?

Again this thing has been actively discussed on the SDSU campus since it happened. Other athletes were asking for an investigation. He may very well be innocent but he was admittedly with the young lady that evening. So if he answers the ?’s asked he should have brought it up. I’m suggesting the Ravens may have been aware and did not draft him because of it.

What he should tell them is, it’s possible this will be brought up. He certainly was aware since the entire SDSU campus was talking about it. Bills draft due diligence would have ramped up (since it appears it wasn’t). But 2 other punters went ahead of him. That’s exactly what he should have told them.

Yes correct but not pre draft. To your point yes once they knew from JD’s lawyer they apparently were and potentially are so confident in what they know-they were ok with it. That seems to not align with McDermy’s presser post game. But your point reinforces Bills were aware and so confident they cut Haack.

I think Bills discussion should have been to 19-tell us before the draft. Since he didn’t it appears they took calculated risk that this would not go public. And they lost. Now imho just for not helping Bills be prepared that justifies his release today. Even if ultimately innocent. The Bills brand can’t have 6-9 months of being dragged an enablers. Given how hard they have worked over 5-6 years to seriously become of the top respected franchises in the NFL.

Sorry key point. If he’s shown to be involved. Think the challenge is this thing will both linger and likely not definitively prove his innocence. It’s civil not criminal so far.

Couple things: 1. No matter what this young girl had a terrible thing happen to her. I wish her peace and the strength to get through it. 2. I’m surprised the Bills with apparently some knowledge of the situation didn’t dig deeper. Particularly post Watson situation. 3. The Bills reputation is on the line. An honest transparent presser post “ addition investigation”. Where they release the punter and apologize for not doing the right thing originally. This could railroad what is expected to be a potential SB season.
